  1. He could have been more specific and said non-human-propelled racing, yes. So the focus is the car, not the driver. Fine tune YOURSELF, not your equipment. How ridiculous would it sound if a basketball player lost the game and started his interview by saying "Well, the Nike Air Jordan shoes were a little loose today. During the timeout, we tried re-tying them but it didn't help much. We'll try to make some adjustments before tomorrow's game." Saying it's not a sport isn't saying it's easy.
  2. Yes. Don't be so damn literal. It's 100% obvious what people were talking about before.
  3. Maybe if the guy had to run alongside the horse.
  4. Minute engineering adjustments are exciting? OK. Sounds like another point against 'is a sport'.
  5. What if you threw a perfect game with 27 strikeouts, all on 3 pitches swinging? WHAT WOULD THAT BE CALLED?
  6. mreye, I think we can leave out the weak-ass definition of sport which also includes knitting, finger-painting, and watching TV. NASCAR is a "racing sport", not a real one. Dodgeball wins.
  7. Who cares? What are we, Cubs fans, with this superstitious nonsense?

    Tennis...

I was playing tennis today for my school and my partner and I (who are undefeated) played some horrible kids. We won 6-0, 6-0. They almost won a game but I pegged this asshole in the arm to win.
  9. And Troy is going to be action-fest, not a drama that requires Oscar-caliber acting from Achilles. Troy isn't a movie based on one actor. Brad Pitt role in Troy isn't comparable to Crowe's in Gladiator. Would you prefer Crowe be Achilles?
  10. DK and I saw it on DVD w/ subtitles. And Brad Pitt is a considerably cooler (not better) actor than Crowe.
  11. no one really dies they have phoenix downs, remember?
  12. This show is NOTHING like Around the Horn.
  13. You don't need to know Cantonese to follow the plot. I agree it looked tremendous, but when it ended, the whole movie felt unfulfilling.
  14. People who bring up the atrocities committed to Americans are generally trying to expose the hypocrisy of the Arab and Muslim world when they go nuts toward Western crimes and turn a blind eye to their own.
  15. Correct. I asked for a source for that survey. I didn't say anything about the Christian Science Monitor. I didn't. One person, who thought the poll was done by CSM, did. Now you make a huge generalization. Not really. I found it hard to believe that so many people would respond that the problems were internet based and hoped that you had a source with more details since I was unable to find that specific survey on CSMonitor.com or from the name "American Marriage Lawyers".
  16. you guys are all racists if roger clemmens were black, his name would be Slavey Slaverton, he would make the league minimum, and the astros could trade him in the town square
  17. Neither of which refer to a poll by the "American Marriage Lawyers (as reported in the Christian Science Monitor)". OP
  18. Can you provide a source? A google search for "American Marriage Lawyers" finds 0 results nor is there any information about them on csmonitor.com.
