QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 12:42 PM) Nobody saw the midnight Spider-Man show? Ebert gave it a pretty positive review, said it was the 2nd best of the four most recent ones, behind the #2 Maguire/Dunst/Raimi one (Doc Ock). No interest. Lizard is lame and the new Peter Parker looks like a cocky douche rather than an awkward nerd.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) Dems passed a tax on the American people. Yup. They also passed a huge tax credit that offsets it. But apparently that won't get a mention.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) I have to laugh at this keeping coming up, when Obama was given universal praise by the left for switching positions on gay marriage. Romney has obviously switched positions here, just like Obama did. Because making a slight shift from pro-civil unions to pro-gay marriage is similar to crapping on *your own idea*.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 05:46 PM) http://videosift.com/video/Drugs-are-bad-mkay-Head-of-DEA When officials so blatantly dodge questions like this, it annoys the hell out of me. I can't decide if that video makes her look more dishonest or more dumb.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 05:02 PM) Right they are separate arguments. Argument 1: There was never oral/anal sex. Argument 2: There were some contact, but it was not abuse. Without the jury instruction, argument 2 would be almost an automatic conviction. I agree that the instruction is inappropriate. But I don't think it really matters. Even if the jury believes all the accounts or oral/anal sex are lies, they'd have to be complete morons to think that Sandusky believed being naked with kids, showering with kids, touching kids near their privates was innocent.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) Yes there is. "We were play wrestling" that is an innocent intent. There is no way to portray anal and oral sex as "play wrestling". QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) Just think about the instruction and compare it to a regular rape case. I don't think that's comparable. In a regular rape case, the argument isn't whether or not something occurred (sexual intercourse), but whether or not it was consensual. In this case, there's 0 chance that the alleged actions were consensual because the victims were all children who can't consent. The defense is that most of the events never occurred.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 01:30 AM) That instruction definitely favors Sandusky. Nah, no way to apply any innocent intention behind the things he's accused of.

I'll look into kettlebell exercises. Thanks
-
Other than bodyweight exercises (pushups, pullups, etc), what is the cheapest way to start doing some strength training? Can I buy a barbell+weights and do things like squats and lifts without having something like a power rack (assuming I am extremely conservative about how much weight I use)?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 07:10 PM) http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/j...-up-crime-down/ “This is not a one-year anomaly, but a steady decline in the FBI’s violent-crime rates,” said Andrew Arulanandam, spokesman for the National Rifle Association. “It would be disingenuous for anyone to not credit increased self-defense laws to account for this decline.” Mr. Arulanandam pointed out that only a handful of states had concealed-carry programs 25 years ago, when the violent-crime rate peaked. The entire South had CCW in the early 90s. Most of the country had followed by the mid-90s. There have been barely any changed in CCW in the past 10 years. So the crime rate dropping now is based on actions from 15-25 years ago? I could hardly care less about gun control, but this guy's analysis is just a talking point. There are individual statistics for state crime rates. If there is an obvious correlation between when a state adopts CCW and their crime rate dropping, then it should be easy for him to point it out. I did some browsing on http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/ and couldn't find any. Florida had CCW in 1987 but their crime rate peaked in 1993. Texas' crime rate peaked in 1991 and began declining before they adopted CCW in 1995. Georgia got CCW in 1989 and crime peaked in 1993.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 06:48 PM) What an awful start to True Blood. Only decent storyline is Tara and they have it on for like 2 minutes. Still too many characters. Looking forward to The Newsroom premiere next week. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 06:48 PM) Only decent storyline is Tara QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 06:48 PM) Only decent storyline is Tara good gawd Maybe I should skip this season.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) Remember when marriage was defined as only allowing people of the same race to marry? Remember when marriage was defined as something that was forever and divorces would result in excommunication? Its sad that people think the past is a good rationale for why we do something today. No, I don't remember that because it never happened. Marriage was also never used as a way to sell off your daughter to a guy who wanted a young girl to add to his collection of wives. Marriage has always been the exact way it is now. One man and one woman uniting with each other and with Jesus of Nazareth.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) Apparently the Trib critic gave "That's my boy" ZERO stars. Just Go With It Bucky Larson Jack and Jill That's My Boy That's about as bad a 2 year stretch as anyone has ever had. Jesus.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) If he says no, he comes off as a liar, if he says yes, he just convicted himself. What can you really do? Unless hes going to go up there and just deny everything, if thats the case, might as well do it. But I cant imagine hell just flat out perjure everything. Plus the guy just sucks at talking about this. "You know, I enjoy young people"

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 02:41 PM) He had nobody on his team. I agree with you that AI is inefficient and overrated, but you have to admit, he took a team with literally nothing to the Finals. That's impressive in itself. If he did have a better supporting cast, I doubt he has a 52% TS. But the East was horrendous during that period. It's not like those 76ers had to get through a bunch of great times. -
How can PSU employees be considered impartial? A conviction does damage to the reputation/prestige of their workplace.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) I'm on nightmare act 3 with a demon hunter. I get killed by any mob bigger than 4-5 guys, so I end up dying a lot. I nearly threw my mouse through the monitor I was so tired of it. I haven't been playing since. They really need to tweak the settings. You shouldn't have much trouble with Nightmare. I'm guessing you're undergeared. Head to the Auction House.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 03:00 PM) So is anyone playing Diablo 3, other than me? Game has a pretty serious 'insanity' leap later in the game, going from easy to somewhat challenging to off the charts impossible. I'm now on Inferno Act 2. Monk on Inferno Act 2. I think I need to make a new character. Monk/Barb is too difficult in Inferno right now unless you put in monster hours to farm gold and get the best gear from the Auction House.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 08:30 PM) No, they do make quality products, but it's the attitude that comes along with the people who buy the Apple products that annoys me. Anyone who only refers to their phone as an "iPhone" instead of a....phone, cell phone, etc, is pretty much dead to me. "Anyone have a phone I can borrow?" "Yeah sure, take my Iphone!" or "Where is my iPhone?" or "Can I borrow your iPhone?" regardless of what kind of cell phone they actually own. It just bugs the s*** out of me. You might be surprised how many times I have had to correct people who think an ipod and an mp3 player are rival things. Who say "Mp3 players suck, get an ipod". Makes me automatically think they are the dumbest people alive. And that's not it, it's also the smug, elitist attitude. And I go to a "Mac heavy" college, so I constantly run in to these dumb people. Shut it. The reason Apple stuff costs so much is because every item is bundled with a License to Brag. I have the right to use it at every possible chance I get.
