QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) This is idiotic Has to be trolling. Harden wasn't even looking at Artest, much less getting in his face. -
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) Wait until you are done with Storm of Swords. That one is my favorite and has the most shocking moments in the series. I just got to one of them. Yowzas!

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) Ok, I don't get it. Once you get knocked out of the playoffs...

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) Man, Simmons' article about the Celtics just made me vomit in my mouth. Why would you read a Simmons' article about a Boston team that is currently doing well? -
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 03:15 AM) CABIN IN THE WOODS is getting great reviews. Not a horror guy but maybe hard to ignore. It looks like it has sci-fi elements too. I'm very interested.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 05:03 PM) You pretty much nailed it. It was really, really good. I've always liked Seth Rogan for the most part and JGL is awesome. I might pick up Hesher sometime soon just because he's in it. Watched it yesterday. Very, very good. Just the right amount of Seth Rogan.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) And yes, read the books. I'm 100 pages into the 3rd book and I can't put them down Same. Decided I couldn't wait 5+ years to find out what happens to these characters. The books are real quick reads. They're broken into short 10-20 page chapters centered around one character which translate almost perfectly into a scene on the show. The only downside is when you turn to a new chapter and the title is a character you don't care for. "Oh boy, a Sansa chapter..."

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) I really need to read these books, the plot is just awesome. Oh, I thought you were saying there was a storyline from the books that they cut out, not that they just didn't manage to fit Dany into this episode. That's no spoiler. The Commander of the Watch is named Janos Slynt. Not really a spoiler, just a note and a difference from the books regarding Tyrion/Slynt:

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 06:22 PM) Should have been one whole. And I cant ruin it for you. Both epis have been solid. Use the spoiler tag. I've read Clash of Kings and I'm not sure what you're referring to being omitted.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 05:07 PM) I don't know who out there might be interested, but if anyone is in, or wants to get into the compliance side of the industry, where I work is looking for an examiner. Message me for details. Resume: I have examined many things in the past. I look at them closely and make note of their characteristics.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 07:15 PM) What I kept waiting to happen was see where the "sponsors" came in. They made such a big deal about needing to be sponsored, but when did that even come in to play? I never saw anyone get a care package from a sponsor. They did do the part where a "much needed item" was placed on that table, but they didn't say it had anything to do with sponsors, it seemed it was a risk/reward type thing that everyone had a chance to do. The only two uses of sponsors in the movie were the healing salve for Kat and...a healing salve for Peeta, both of which came with notes from Woody Harrelson. Coming out of the movie, I had the same reaction as you: why did they make such a huge deal about sponsors over and over and over again when the only person who sent them anything was their rich coach? I read later that the sponsors buy the gifts and the coach sends them. Whatever. I assume other sponsor gifts are mentioned in the book.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 04:47 PM) I enjoyed seeing the GameKeeper telegraph everything. It added emphasis to the fact how the whole Capitol thought of it as some fun game, while these kids are being slaughtered. I liked the part where the GameKeeper put much-needed supplies in the Cornucopia to lure people in, but the rest of his interactions were stupid. How would you like to bet $1000 on some Tribute who then gets killed because the GameKeeper spawned 4 gorilla-dogs top of him? The games were neither sporting, fair, nor entertaining.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) You don't HAVE to do one season per year. Curb is totally different but he does a season every two years, or something close to it. There were rumors that book 3 (Storm of Swords) would be seasons 3 AND 4 of the tv show. Buys GRRM another year.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 11:55 PM) Yeah, kinda hard to claim you stole his car for self defense, when he is laying on the ground with is head split open. So these two crimes are nothing alike?
-
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 10:49 PM) 50 year old white man beaten with a hammer by two black teens and left for dead in the street 6 miles from Sanford, FL. Currently hanging on, barely. No word from Al 'Let's escalate this baby!' Sharpton or Jessie. http://www.wftv.com/news/news/deputies-men...-sanford/nMHW6/ I can't believe the cops let those 2 black teens go without even charging them with a crime! Oh, they're in jail with multiple felony charges?
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 04:51 PM) Is it true there are 8 of them?? 5 are out, 2 more planned.
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 02:05 PM) It sure did sound more "nik" than "nig" to me. Was it meant that way, or did he catch himself? Hard to tell. It's pretty difficult to say that word fluidly "governmentnik"...and that did him no favors.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 08:54 PM) I have never enjoyed a show quite like Game of Thrones before; it's so original. What I mean by this is that every scene has so much f***ing weight to it. I have no idea how even HBO can have a budget to produce episode after episode of such a fantastic tv show, even if it's not tv and it's HBO. Watching the first episode of the new season threw me right back into this story. I wish I could just always be watching Game of Thrones. Yes, and you don't have to worry about the show jumping the shark or the writers painting themselves into a corner because the story is already written for them and known to be good.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 09:12 PM) Apologies if this was posted somewhere else: http://newsone.com/newsone-original/boycew...PJo79p6NWOn2i9g I mean, it certainly sounds like he's about to say it, but my listening was obviously biased by the fact that I had read the article on it first. The claim seems to be he's putting the suffix -nik (like beatnik or peacenik) on the end of government. "Anti-war government-nik". Never heard that term used before, but it's plausible.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 02:21 AM) Santorum reiterated his anti-science plank today: http://www.philly.com/philly/columnists/ri...ence_dogma.html This appears to be from 2009. But no doubt he holds the same idiotic views.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 06:11 PM) Finished Game of Thrones and just started A Clash of Kings...HBO show was remarkably similar to the book and I'm looking forward to the second season Same. I hate reading fiction and I got through Game of Thrones' 800+ pages very quickly. Great characters, great stories.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 28, 2012 -> 04:14 PM) Game of Thrones=awesome Game of Thrones has 4 prominent characters who are children and ALL FOUR child actors do a good job. It's unbelievable. WAR TYRION
