QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 21, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) I will sometimes heat up a deepdish in the oven. But never, ever, will pizza hit the microwave. I usually will just eat it cold. Put a pan on the stove on medium heat. You don't need any oil. Place the pizza in and put a aluminum foil 'dome' over the top. The pan will make the crust crispy and the dome will warm up the cheese and toppings.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 17, 2012 -> 11:02 PM) OK, I won't defend Cousy, all I know about him is the reputation, never actually seen a video of him. Watch some videos on youtube...they're incredibly awkward. I think he'd average about 40 turnovers a game in today's NBA. -

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 17, 2012 -> 06:48 PM) One of the biggest arguments against Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell getting no respect by some basketball fans is the notion that they played against essentially midgets...I found this at another forum and I was surprised at how tall players were back then, these players played in the 61-62 NBA season. Interesting, but with a couple flaws, I think. The '62 players are represented by the players on the teams in that year, but the modern players are represented by anyone drafted, which is going to include shorter players teams take a chance on despite being undersized, who quickly get bounced out of the league. Also, I don't like the division of G=PG, G-F/F-G=SG, F=SF, F-C/C-F=PF, C=C. F-Gs could easily be small forwards (not SG) and F-C/C-Fs would play center. For the hell of it, I went and looked at the teams from '62 and this year and picked the guy who was the real primary big man. I'm sure my method has flaws too, but it was interesting anyway. 1962 Warriors: 7-1 Wilt Celtics: 6-9 Russell Knicks: 6-10 Imhoff/6-10 Jordon Nationals: 6-9 Red Kerr (7-3 Swede Halbrook barely played) Packers: 6-11 Bellamy Hawks: 6-9 Lovelette (Hawks don't even have a player listed as C) Pistons: 6-8 Ferry/7-0 Dukes (about equal minutes) Royals: 6-8 Embry (played 8x more minutes 6-10 Nordman) Lakers: 6-8 Krebs/6-11 Felix 2012 Bulls: 6'11" Noah Heat: 6'9" Anthony 76ers: 7'0" Hawes Hawks: 6'11" Zaza Magic: 6'11" Howard Pacers: 7'2" Hibbert Celtics: 6'11" Oneal Knicks: 7'1" Chandler Bucks: 7'0" Bogut Cavs: 6'10" Varajao Pistons: 6'11" Monroe Raptors: 6'9" Johnson (team also starts 7'0" Bargnani) Nets: 6'11" Okur Wizards: 7'0" McGee Bobcats: 7'0" Mullins Thunder: 6'10 Perkins (next to 6'10" Ibaka) Spurs: 6'11" Duncan Clips: 6'11" Jordan Mavs: 7'0" Haywood (next to 7'0" Dirk) Lakers: 7'0" Bynum (next to 7'0" Gasol) Rockets: 6'11" Dalembert Nuggets: 7'1" Mozgov Grizz: 7'1" Gasol Blazers: 6'11" Camby (next to 6'11" Aldridge) Jazz: 6'10" Jefferson Wolves: 7'0" Darko Warriors: 6'11" Biedrins Suns: 6'11" Gortat Kings: 6'11" Thompson (next to 6'11" Cousins) Hornets: 6'10" Okafor The 1962 average is about 6'9.4". The 2012 average is about 6'11.2". The centers are 2 inches taller on average than the 1962 centers, to say nothing of some of the huge PFs we have now. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Any tips on how to break dog of jumping on people? I have tried water bottle, ignoring him when he does it, etc. He will be 2 in May so I am starting to hope he just grows out of it. People think he is attacking them at first and all he wants is attention. Not biting or anything. I'd love to know too. My mother in law has two 100-pound monsters who are awful about this. The minute they see you, they totally lose their sh*t and want to tackle you. Ugh

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) Yep. Must have been something wrong with the guide that didn't register that ep as part of the series. Lame.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 04:35 PM) I"m watching both of them. My DVR skipped this weeks alc today for some reason. Mine did too. DirecTV?

QUOTE (NIUSox @ Feb 12, 2012 -> 06:52 PM) My brother posted this on my Facebook wall the other day. Thought it was relevant to all the Star Wars talk. By the way, totally disagree with it. Prequels better than Originals? That writer gets torn a new one in the comments

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) HBO has the whole first season of Game of Thrones On Demand but I just can't bring myself to start it. If it is as good as everyone says, I know I will like it but I'm not into the type of material. Is it a show that I can determine if I will like the rest after 1 episode? I think so. It is consistently great; no "you need to watch 5 episodes before it gets good".

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 12:06 AM) I personally think 2 and 3 receive a lot of unnecessary heat because of the Jar Jar issue in 1. I don't think it has anything to do with Jar Jar. They've got awful dialogue (PLEAAAASE fast-forward any scene with Padme and Anakin) and lack memorable moments. The most memorable is Vader's "NOOOOOOOOOOOO", and only because it's so laughable.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) This is what she is interested in though...molecular gastronomy...and Alenia is probably one of the best examples of this type of cooking in the world. Alinea is generally considered a top 10 restaurant in the world, molecular gastronomy or not.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) Has anyone eaten at Alinea? I'm going in a month and I can't wait...most of the reviewers on Yelp wrote that it is the best meal they've ever had. I went 3 years ago. It was the best meal I've ever had. For two people, it ended up being over $500 for the tour and one wine flight. That sounds ridiculous (and, well, it is), but to me, one $500 meal there is far better than ten $50 meals that you won't remember the next week. I just looked at the menu and only 2 of the 20 courses are the same as when I went: Hot Potato, Cold Potato and Truffle Explosion. I actually didn't particularly like either one of these, but I could tell you how they were served (virtually everything has a cool presentation) and what they tasted like. I think that's part of why it's so great. Everything is interesting and unique, so it sticks with you. Some of the highlights for me were a plate of crab with an orb of spherified http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spherification butter on top of it that you had to pop, a lamb course that is placed on a scented pillow whose aroma hits you while you eat to change the flavor, a ball of hardened yogurt filled with pomegranate juice, and a brown sugared sweet potato that was served on a stick of cinnamon that was on fire. FYI, if I recall correctly, the restaurant has no street signage. You have to look out for a tiny valet sign sitting on the sidewalk and stop in the right place. I had to circle the block a couple times before spotting it.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 11:04 PM) I'm more concerned with the car ride out there. He'll probably whine the whole time. Ask your vet for some medication that can calm him. I got some for my cat when I had to drive from Illinois to North Carolina. She slept for most of the trip rather than the usual yowling most car rides produce.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 10:55 PM) So I decided to have this surgery out in the Arizona to stay with my parents for a few months. Obviously taking my dog with me. Will it be a tough transition to living in a new place for a couple of months? ANything I shoudl expect? Some animals don't care at all as long as they've got you there

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) Nope. Are they from the game, or is that some real child cartoon that someone made a fake episode for and incorporated Skyrim. But whoever made that is a really good job w/ those drawings/graphics. Someone made a fake promo with these kids as various races/classes from the game

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 08:35 PM) Joel Przybilla's agent, Bill Duffy, confirmed that the center is weighing offers to sign with either the Bulls or Heat, possibly as early as this week. Need ourselves that insurance big. Not that this deal would really matter, it'd just get THE THIRD off the roster and take the role that Kurt Thomas would have seen this year. I want Asik, Przybilla, and Scalabrine on the floor at the same time. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) But my counter is that Morrison destroyed college basketball, so it's the same thing as watching Kobe. Is Kobe shooting fall away jumpers against NBA competition really that much different than Morrison hitting fall away jumpers against college competition? I think it is. Morrison's play isn't that impressive because you know he's doing it against jobbers and he's simply not as good as Kobe.
