Real. Needles are a pain towards the end, but gotta have that tree smell

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) I DID read all those things. And? They polled someone and asked do you watch Fox...and anyone could have just said sure, even if it's a lie. Fair point. A significant portion of the respondents were probably liberal trolls trying to make Fox News look bad.
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) How do they know those 612 new jersey residents were Fox viewers? ...they polled them. The study paper that was linked to takes like TWO minutes to read. You could have read all these things (what were the questions, who was polled, how were they polled, etc).
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) This is exactly what I'm saying. No, you were saying the study's methodology was bad. That's not the same as complaining about a headline being too broad. Right, because they knew ahead of time that the Fox viewers would be so uninformed? The only reason you're attacking the poll is because you don't like the results.
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) How is it NOT cherry picking? How IS it? I just listed the two cherry picking scenarios and neither applies. Because they're the major current events? What about those questions is biased against Fox News viewers? It's not like they asked "What joke did Jon Stewart make about so-and-so?" or "What color was Rachel Maddow's suit?" They polled 612 New Jersey residents on the phone. It's nice that you would have gotten all 4, but the point is, that Fox News watchers as a whole are less likely to.
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) It was right because the headline reads that Fox news viewers are less informed than NPR listeners. Well, that's the Yahoo headline, not the study title. But so what? That's what the results showed. Fox News watching correlated with the most inaccurate answers for 3/4 questions (and second worst for the fourth). Period.
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) So, in essence, I was right from the get go. The poll is f***ing stupid and their "methodology" was nothing more than cherry picking. Unless they (a) asked more than 4 knowledge questions and dumped the ones with results they didn't like or (b) purposefully asked questions which Fox News viewers were somehow less likely to know, how is it cherry picking?
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 03:56 PM) I made an assumption on the "poll" and after reading the methodology you posted, it turns out I was right to make that assumption. How was your assumption right? You guessed that they polled on a single subject that Fox News viewers would be less likely to know. They polled on 4 separate subjects which have all been big news as of late. How do any of those four questions give a disadvantage to Fox? Hell, one of them (leading Rep candidate) arguably favors Fox News.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 04:27 PM) And Dale is obviously mad because he likes Andrea and he knows Shane f***ed her. That seems pretty obvious. Well, that and he thinks Shane is a psycho based on the forest incident and the vague/questionable Otis story.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) (kinda like Shane/Andrea getting a "lead" on a house she might be in....which is one of MANY houses in a subdivision. WHAT THE f***, HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?) lol. The subdivision has like 50 houses. Drive your car around and yell her name. If any walkers come after you, it's ok: YOU'RE IN A CAR. Nah, let's get out and explore ONE house. She's not here.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 07:47 AM) FPS...well obviously, it can be done otherwise. Half the console market is FPSs now. Sure, it can be done; it's just far inferior. There's a reason no one is trying to get PC players and console players playing together with these games: the PC players would dominate every time. You simply can't aim with a joystick like you can with a mouse.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) Mouse + keyboard for gaming = lame. Not if you play first-person shooters. Or real-time strategy. Mouse and keyboard is the only option. Granted, Oblivion/Skyrim type games only have minor shooter elements (archery/magic), but I would think anyone used to the far superior control of a mouse and keyboard would be hesitant to play with a controller. It shocks me that anyone with the game on PC would opt to use a controller.

QUOTE (G&T @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 11:52 PM) Or it wasn't pertinent to the charge against Sandusky which is all the GJ cared about. It's pretty clear that McQueary was giving a narrative of what he saw and did. If he intervened, why would he say he left? Also, the Grand Jury is allowed to ask questions of witnesses, and I think anyone hearing this testimony would be very curious as to why McQueary didn't immediately contact the police. Maybe they just didn't ask..
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 10:43 PM) McQueary claims to have both stopped the sexual assault he witnessed AND alerted the authorities. So many more wrinkles to this story... So either the Grand Jury did a REALLY bad job of summarizing his testimony, or he somehow left out these facts when he testified.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) Proving these cases is going to be difficult with out a confession (young children dont have very reliable memories). No clue why the guy went on tv. True, but there are at least a few adults who witnessed things (McQueary, the wrestling coach, the janitor) and the sheer number of kids reporting this will be hard for a jury to overlook.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 06:33 PM) You're right, only good coaches tell their teams to create TO's and score defensive TD's. Come on... If only Lovie told the offense to "score more touchdowns", the Bears would have been a way better team during his tenure -
QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 11:40 AM) I see two episodes of The League on my DVR. Is this legit or is one a rerun? They're both new.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) Your first premise is not accurate, if you're going to consider what Paterno testified to... He denied being informed of any rape. In the Grand Jury file, it says Paterno testified that he was told about "fondling or doing something of a sexual nature to a young boy" by a "very upset" McQueary. I don't think he needs to be specifically informed of anal sex to know that a sexual assault was being reported.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) And yet 57 states get you elected President... Accidentally say "57" instead of "47" = can't remember your own policies

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 04:11 PM) Neither is golf Golf is a sport, just a lame one. It's based on physical actions. Poker is a game. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) If you're into online shooters and 12 year olds calling you a "f**got newb", then go Battlefield, because that's the cream of the crop from what I've read. Or play it on PC to avoid all the kids.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 11:45 PM) You really cant blame Wisconsin for the Big10 scheduling. You should be able to blame someone for allowing Wisconsin to schedule every nonconference game at home. 8 home games vs 4 away? Come on
