  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 12:22 AM) Of course it is. Tolerance is only for those who are accepted. The judgment was on credibility. A person who promotes conspiracy theories and pseudoscience lacks credibility. A person who is gay does not.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 09:49 PM) BS. With all of the equal rights pushes, you can't talk about things like gay rights, and then try to disqualify someone's believably level because of something like that. It is hypocrisy. This is one of the worst comparisons I've ever seen.
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 02:56 PM) Take RAW tonight for example...Roman had TREMENDOUS heat with that crowd, and for good reason. He just retired a lifelong favorite of many of the fans. Is it because he retired a lifelong favorite, or because he's bland in the ring and on the mic and they're tired of seeing him be the focus of storylines all the time (e.g. 3 WrestleMania main events in a row)? QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 02:56 PM) The issue with Roman is, and I partially agree here, is that he's as over as a heel as it gets yet they insist on trying to portray him as a babyface. I think this is totally intentional. His booking is completely irrational. Gets booed, treat him like a face. Constantly defeats multiple guys, pretend he's an underdog. Repeatedly given sweet opportunities, pretend like he's kept down by the man. It's like a weird meta experiment where they're trolling fans and causing them to hate-watch Roman-related portions of the show (and hate-watching can be enjoyable).
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 31, 2017 -> 07:01 PM) I really do not understand who the "crack down on pot" constituency is. - "Reefer Madness was a good documentary about pot leading to downfall of society" crowd - "People who smoke pot are all lazy bums and probably on welfare" crowd - "Liberals support it therefore I oppose it" crowd
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 10:20 PM) Nixon tried this crap too, no? He tried to pull some executive privilege nonsense too, yes. But this Paula Jones case is virtually identical to what Trump is dealing with now. Civil suit, sexual harassment, events before the Presidency.
  6. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 10:12 PM) Trump is also claiming that he can't be sued while in office in an attempt to quash a lawsuit from a woman who says she was sexually assaulted during The Apprentice. https://twitter.com/eriqgardner/status/846734950103699457 Sorry Donald, SCOTUS already checked this one with Paula Jones and Bill Clinton. 9-0 against Bill.
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 06:49 PM) First rule of dealing with internet trolls, when you realize that they are a troll stop posting. If you really want to engage them, realize that they are a troll and that no logical argument can be presented to change their mind. Trolls are insincere and looking to mess with people. Sounds like the people Reddy was dealing with are just extremely uncharitable, argumentative, and looking to be offended. But I'd agree that "ignore" is the proper course of action here.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 06:34 PM) Let's be honest here, he is nervous because he throws like a girl. And because he'd get a monstrous amount of boos. He got 4% (!) of the vote in DC.
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 21, 2017 -> 05:41 PM) It's released that there's no evidence of Russia fixing the election but the talk is still impeach Trump. How does one eliminate the other? And why is Trump continuing to lie about it all?
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 09:04 PM) #Bears Mike Glennon - watched film of Bears, "saw great offensive line" "receivers" "scheme that fit him" - obviously did homework on #Bears "saw only team willing to let me start" "paycheck" "dat paycheck"
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 9, 2017 -> 02:33 PM) Pretty sure you're in the vast minority here. The game has a 97 on metracritic and is universally praised by the gaming community. Probably, but I think this (like reviews for many Nintendo franchise games) is a case of Member Berries in action.
  12. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 9, 2017 -> 02:10 AM) And Metroid Prime wasn't trying to be a FPS, it's simply a 3D attempt at the classic metroidvania formula and Retro Studios completely pulled it off. Right, it wasn't trying to be a shooter, but it adopted FPS mechanics for its action gameplay, and that gameplay was total garbage. I think the "classic metroidvania formula" expired in the SNES era.
  13. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 8, 2017 -> 10:59 PM) The GameCube was absolutely incredible. Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Mario Sunshine, Metriod Prime 1 & 2, Double Dash, Smash: Melee, MGS: Twin Snake, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil Remake & 4, Pikman 1 & 2, Rogue Squadron 2, F Zero GX, the list goes on and on. The GameCube was awesome because Nintendo was still trying to compete with the competition at that time and had a very diverse library of games including a decent amount of mature titles. I enjoyed Smash, Double Dash, and RE4 a lot. Super Monkey Ball 2 as well. Disliked both Zeldas, Mario Sunshine, and F Zero. As an avid FPS player, I find the praise that Metroid Prime gets mind-boggling. How can we combine the traditionally horrible controls of a shooter on a console with a dull story, sparse action, and large amounts of walking around/back-tracking?
  14. Personally, I'll never buy a Nintendo console again. I was a little disappointed by GameCube, but felt completely ripped off by the Wii. What a piece of trash.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 7, 2017 -> 11:40 PM) One issue I will never understand is that we all know that smearing zombie blood on you will make you invisible to them. However, the characters always seem to forget this. Like last night, why not just do that instead of trying to kill 75 of them using hand-to-hand combat? Inexplicable unless they're worried about ruining their clothes or something. Perhaps running low on laundry detergent at Alexandria. SMH That only seems to work if you're slowly and quietly shambling along. They were running and stabbing and slicing.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 8, 2017 -> 01:57 PM) Obamacare that will drop about 15 million insured and dramatically increase costs over the current Obamacare, all the while having a much larger negative impact on the poor. It's the worst of all worlds. Not for the rich. They get a massive tax cut and expanded use of FSAs/HSAs.
  17. Democrats better get out ahead of the branding game. Some Republicans already calling it Obamacare Lite or Obamacare 2.0. If this mess passes, the GOP is going to shift its failures onto them with the moniker alone.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 6, 2017 -> 10:07 PM) Honestly with all of the background fires around Trump, I would be shocked if he weren't being monitored. It would be basically negligent. A group like the FBI getting a warrant and legally monitoring Trump is a lot different than President Obama illegally ordering monitoring of a political opponent.
  19. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Mar 6, 2017 -> 09:57 PM) And you all are taking 'wire tap' too literally. You know he means he was spied on, by whatever means it happened. No one is taking him too literally because that's literally what he said. "President Obama was tapping my phones in October"
  20. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Mar 6, 2017 -> 07:53 PM) What's the point of this immigration ban? Make his base feel safe from the scary Muslims who are constantly attacking rural America
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 6, 2017 -> 04:51 PM) Taking off work can be difficult. There was a story last year of getting fired from her retail job for taking off too much time for pregnancy checkups. Overall, medicaid has proven to improve health outcomes by improving access (sometimes by just reducing stress over medical expenses). There are always going to be cases, especially when dealing with extreme poverty, that are downright abuse or suboptimal behavior. But millions are on medicaid, and an overwhelming majority are using it as you'd expect. Yes, I agree most people use the support properly and its a necessary program, but I think you underestimate how many people are lazy. The people I'm talking about aren't missing prenatal visits because they're slammed working 60+ hours a week and can't find a single day in 10 months to see a doctor. They're the ones who just don't care.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 6, 2017 -> 03:05 PM) May not cost them a penny out of their pocket, may cost the amount going into their pocket. What do you mean?
  23. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 6, 2017 -> 02:46 PM) "Some people don't want health care, therefore we should not even make it an option available to the poors" doesn't seem like the right conclusion to draw though. He expresses opposition to the Medicaid expansion, but not Medicaid in general. But yes, that is true.
  24. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 4, 2017 -> 05:47 PM) https://www.statnews.com/2017/03/03/roger-m...nsas-obamacare/ Sounds outrageous but there's an element of truth. My wife works in labor & delivery and there's a constant stream of women on Medicaid who come in to give birth and haven't gone in for a single prenatal visit even though they're wouldn't be paying a penny out of pocket.
