  1. what happened to all the people that had faith in the team?? this post is disgusting me with the way that people are acting. it's still possible. it's going to be hard, but it's still there. you never knwo what's going to happen. seriously though, that's a ridiculous way to act. things happen. we came off a championship year, so the standards are higher, but it's not the same team. suck it up and think about it. have faith in your team
  2. cmon guys....this isn't about superstition. trust me, i have my own little rituals, but this is about the pitching and the lack of coming up with hits with people on base. we need to stop looking at strikes and start swinging the bat. our pitchers need to keep the ball lower, we're getting it too high up in the strike zone.
  3. heck yes!! the sox never cease to amaze me!! thank you EVERYONE!! boy oh boy, you boys are absolutely amazing, all of you had an important part and were great.
  4. brian is finally getting into it. all he needed was time. a ton of people said that. everyone needs time to improve at some point. good for him that he's doing so well now, he can actually have fun!!
  5. i think that if you can't "root" for the cubs in this series, and all the series' against AL Central, then there is something wrong. I mean, the cubs are, what, 15 games under .500?? ok, it's not going to be terrible if they win, in fact IT'S GOING TO BE HELPING US!!! all 162 games are important, it can come down to the wire, so we want to gain as much ground as we can!...I'm definately going for the cubs to win these games against the tigers.
  6. no...that's why i was asking. i mean, i don't think the phillies would want to trade this guy, but if they do, i'm pretty sure we would want him back.
  7. if you're going to bash crede on getting 2 errors, you better think again. if you look at the play, he only shoulda gotten one and that was on the throw, the ball took a bounce. i mean, yes, it did go into his glove, but he's still an amazing fielder. then you're trying to bring up the foul ball pop up, i mean, it coulda been worse (i.e. FAIR)...look at the cubs...aramis ramirez "lost the ball in the sun" and it hit him in the head....IN FAIR TERITORY!! give crede a break, he definately deserves it!
  8. ok, so yesterday my friend told me that aaron rowand is on the trade block for the phillies and that the yanks, bosox, and chisox are looking at him. i think if that's all true, he wouldn't want to go with the yanks or bosox, he would most likely want to come back to the place where he didn't want to leave in the first place. has anyone else heard anything about this?? i think it would pretty much be amazing because we'll have someone just as good as anderson in the field, and someone who could hit at the plate.
  9. thanks!! drew, what songs did you put on it??
  10. i'm trying to come up with a CD for all of the white sox songs, but I can't think of the names for all of them. Can you help me with the at-bat songs for all the white sox??
  11. no he shouldn't be sent to charlotte because he's one of the best defensive players we've seen in CF. all he needs to do is start working with his bat a little bit more.
  12. anderson's defense is way better than we could have ever asked for. yes, he needs to work on his offense, but his defense is amazing. i think he's another crede, and he's going to need time to get his swing.
  13. ozzie has a right to go off. i mean, we're not in AAA here and ozzie isn't going to baby our guys. he never has. he always speaks his mind. i don't think he would have been as PO'd if we would have executed and won. we didn't do that though. i know it's one game, but still, if you let it go on too long without saying anything, then nothing is going to happen about it. get some fire under their butts and lets win.
  14. no lead is safe. i mean, take last year for example. the astros were 15-30 to start off the season, became the wild card, and got into the world series. anything can happen. 160 games is a LONG time.
  15. what i was trying to say was that people shouldn't be complaining about barrett not having a long enough suspension. in reality, the penalties could be much worse and we could lose pods and/if not aj too.
  16. AJ got fined $2,000. He's appealing it. He doesn't quite know why he got it since he didn't do anything, but that's pretty much pocket change for him. Joey Cora got suspended for 2 games because coaches aren't supposed to touch anything like that. they're not supposed to be in there, and he was closer and actually touching people (even though he was probably just trying to get them off of his players). coaches can't appeal, and 2 games isn't that much anyways. barrett is appealing his 10 games. he's probably going to only have to miss 8 games, but that's a lot for the cubs to miss someone so essential to their team. they're already doing bad, so that's a resonable punishment. anderson will most likely appeal his 5 games, but since mack's hot right now, i think he should just take it. 5 games isn't too much, and we're going to need his defense in the upcoming series'. all of you people that are complaining about barrett not getting more than 10 games, think of it this way. would you rather him have 15 games, but we not have pods and aj for awhile?? i don't think so. 10 games is a lot anyways. if we lost pods and aj, then we would be in some trouble. we need our speedy guy, and our guy with all the controversy.
  17. boy oh boy...i watched the replay so many times and i love how scotty is right behind aj when he gets suckerpunched and then right after that, he's spearing barrett to take him down. such a little guy taking him down. and then the interview with jones was like "i saw someone choking our catcher, so i had to do something"...haha, go scotty....you're the best. and BA....you're teammates and fans appreciate you stepping up for your teammates.
  18. crede better get a long term deal. he's come out of his shell and is becoming one of the most outspoken on the team. don't get me wrong, he's still humble and everything, but he actually talks now. imagine how many games we would have lost last year if we didnt' have crede to throw himself out there and knock down the ball. he deserves it and he wants to be here.
  19. i highly doubt that aj flicked anyone off. isn't is the "los angelos angels of anaheim"? who knows....but yeah, i didn't even think about him until he got hit and then hawk and dj were like "they're getting revenge from last year". gah, i was going crazy.
  20. ok we lost. c'mon guys, get over it. i mean, yeah, it's hard to take a loss after a late game win. have faith in our players. we're 18-8. that's a good record right now. just believe in the team
  21. I will probably only get the Crede one. I'm such a cheater, I don't buy the newspaper, I look in it to c if it's the one I want. And I wanted Rowand but i'm assuming that they're not doing him since they did Thome. It's alright though.
  22. i flip back and forth between both games when they're both on...and sometimes, when they have a game during the day and ours is at night, i watch it. only because mai 1st period teacher is a huge cubs fan and he knows i'm a sox fan so he sat me in the front row right byt he "go cubbies" sign. i try and pick up errors to make fun of him with. it's not that big of a deal if you watch both games.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 11:32 AM) Our spark plug last year was our pitching. If Pods can't succesfully steal, that's fine. Stay on the base, and try to go from first to third on a single or try not to hurt yourself jogging around the bases on a Thome homer. It's unacceptable how bad he's become on fundamentals. How can you continue to fail to get every bunt attempt down? Also....maybe he needs a bigger glove, but he seems to struggle at picking the ball up off of the ground in the outfield. ok, as someone who plays softball, last year i played 3rd base. this year, i'm in the outfield now and the point of having a bigger glove is when you're in the infield so you have an inch or so, so that you can knock down the balls so they don't get to the outfield. usually outfielders have smaller gloves than infielders. 2nd of all, have you ever tried stealing a base? it's not that easy, sometimes you make it and sometimes you dont'. he's not going to give up trying to steal bases. if he does that then he's going to get out of the rhythem and then he's going to end up being worse.
