I think this doom and gloom is a little over the top. We are on pace to win 95 games, only 4 less than last year. If we have a good (3 or 4 win ) series in Detroit, we still have a decent shot at taking the division. If we can step up our winning pace just a little, we have a reasonable chance to finish with the best record in the AL and home field through the WS again. Sure this is optimistic, but it is not out of the realm of possibility. Even if we fall short of this success, in my opinion we are still over 50% to make the playoffs. Garland is looking good and if Mark and Jose are on at playoff time we CAN repeat. It's gonna take some work, but this is still one of the 5 best SOX teams in the last 30 years. They can be champs again.

It looks to me like KW is doing damage control with the national media. The organization has to appear to come down on Ozzie in order to make the story go away. There is no way that KW or JR want to dump Ozzie over this. I'm sure they want him to tone it down and have talked to him behind the scenes, but KW's press conference was for the benefit of the national media. Just a humble draft pick's opinion.

I don't know what the exact numbers are, but I am pretty sure our RPG is up quite a bit over last years numbers. That would suggest that the difference is on the pitching / defense side, regardless of what the bottom of our order is doing.

I think he will produce with regular work and knowing the job is his. He looks tons better than Politte right now. Bmac that is.
