  1. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:45 PM) was AJ running his hardest? cuz i think he shoulda been able to beat it I thought that too.. if he was really going at it, I think he would have beat it out.
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:45 PM) No doubt that AJ is bunting. If Walden blows this, then my fantasy bullpen is in shambles. Fantasy bullpens, like real bullpens, every where are in shambles.
  3. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:37 PM) Why is Jesse Crain being used as the mop up on this team? Guillen seems like he was unprepared and thus so was his team for the season again. I meant to quote this.. oops!
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) No idea, but don't even get me started on Crain not being used on Wednesday to start the inning. 2 innings in a 2 run game is mop up duty? Maybe.. Just MAYBE they're trying to keep the game close, instead of putting Ohman or Pena out there..
  5. The positive that I can take from this game is that Crain looks like a pretty good option out of the bullpen. Maybe the struggle for the closer role should have been between Crain and Santos, not Sale and Thornton.
  6. QUOTE (DukeofChicago88 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) No one here thinks Crain could handle being a closer? I think he's shown he can handle pressure situations. I like him better than I like Sale or Thornton. I still think Sergio deserves a shot.
  7. At this rate, we'll never know who's getting the next chance at closing out a game.
  8. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 12:21 PM) sub-.500 starts today YEAH!! GO SOX!
  9. Gosh, I'm glad I took the time to read through this whole thread with my coffee this morning. Good work, all around.
  10. Freddy Garcia might be the Yankees' saving grace. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/17/sports/b...&ref=sports
  11. Many outlets reporting that Matt Capps is now the Twins closer.
  12. Heading out to the park in a little bit.. Gonna guess this one doesn't get in, but I gotta get me one of those Cuban sandwiches anyway!
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) Why would he make that 2nd comment about Sergio being the toughest mentally? Now the rest of the guys will think that he thinks they're mental midgets. They are mental midgets. Someone had to say it for them to grow a pair and pitch like they're capable. Coop is that guy.
  14. Sergio Santos looked really good at the home opener needing only 10 pitches to finish out the 9th inning with a 4 run lead... Is it that much different to do it with a 3 run lead?
  15. Offensive Statistics: Runs- 1st Hits- 1st 2b- 2nd HR- 4th TB- 1st Avg.- 1st OBP- 1st SLG- 3rd OPS- 3rd Regardless of the size of the sample, this is a good sign, considering the trouble the White Sox have had offensively in past seasons.
  16. Jake Peavy should just skip starting and consider closing.
  17. At this point, any starter who finishes the 8th should get the ball in the 9th.
  18. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) Also Sox fans don't give a s*** what the team looks like on paper (we've seen that story overplayed), we want to see it on the field before we pay money. The team looks good. Better than I expected at least, but unless they're killing it in first place for most of the season, attendance won't go up.
  19. Alright Kenny.. call in that favor from Kansas City (Mark Teahen).. and get us some Soria.
