  1. Sounds simple in theory, but when it comes to cold, hard numbers....I bet its ALOT easier to get the contract for Garland done right now then it is for Buehrle. The club has leverage with Garland, his amount of success is not that of Buehrles. Add to that the fact that Buehrle has already declined one contract offer(I'm not arguing whether it was a fair one or not), and I'm sure the higher-ups are thinking, "We know we can get the deal woth Jon done now, we'll worry about Buehrle after we know where we stand with Colon."
  2. Nobody knows any of my artists, so then I'll quote another!!! From one of my favorite female artists of all time... How many times do I have to say To get away-get gone Flip your s*** past another lasses Humble dwelling You got your game, made your shot, and you got away With a lot, but I’m not turned-on So put away that meat you’re selling Cuz I do know what’s good for me- And I’ve done what I could for you But you’re not benefiting, and yet I’m sitting Singing again, sing, sing again How can I deal with this, if he won’t get with this M'I gonna heal from this; he won’t admit to it Nothing to figure out; I gotta get him out It’s time the truth was out that he don’t give a s*** about me How many times can it escalate Till it elevates to a place I can’t breathe? And I must decide, if you must deride That I’m much obliged to up and go I’ll idealize, then realize that it’s no Sacrifice, because the price is paid, and There’s nothing left to grieve f***in go- Cuz I've done what I could for you, and I do know what’s Good for me and I’m not benefiting, instead I’m sitting singing again, singing again, singing again, Sing, sing, sing again How can I deal with this, if he won’t get with this M'I gonna heal from this; he won’t admit to it Nothing to figure out; I gotta get him out It’s time the truth was out that he don’t give a s*** about me
  3. BE GOOD.... I hereby declare you inept at quoting Beatles songs. You got approximately NONE of those correct!!! How dare you....stick to the cheesy rap and 90's pop hits, young man!
  4. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2958040189 You can thank me later!!
  5. Work......work... Attend USC football games...no, thats not Southern Cal games. Keep up with USC hoops once they start. Watch meaningless Bowl Games, and hope my USC team makes it to one. Watch National Championship Watch March Madness Plan Trip to Tucson for Spring Training. Jas, you gonna go to ST this year? My Brain is a Stormin!!
  6. Remember when she was in "Saved by the Bell" When they were working at the resort. She was the boss' daughter. Yep...as Stacy Carosi...I saw all those episodes, not afraid to admit it!!! Heres one of someone thats already been posted, but I don' think this one has been yet....
  7. Another from the same artist as above.... I'm gonna make a mistake I'm gonna do it on purpose I'm gonna waste my time 'Cause I'm full as a tick And I'm scratching at the surface And what I find is mine And when the day is done, and I look back And the fact is I had fun, fumbling around All the advice I shunned, and I ran Where they told me not to run, but I sure had fun, so I'm gonna f*** it up again I'm gonna do another detour Unpave my path And if you wanna make sense What you looking at me for I'm no good at math And when I find my way back The fact is I just may stay, or I may not I've acquired quite a taste for A well-made mistake I wanna make a mistake Why can't I make a mistake? I'm always doing what I think I should Almost always doing everybody good Why Do I wanna do right, of course but Do I really wanna feel I'm forced to Answer you, hell no I've acquired quite a taste for A well-made mistake, I wanna make a mistake Why can't I make a mistake I'm always doing what I think I should Almost always doing everybody good Why
  8. "The Humpty Dance is a chance to do the hump.... do, do it baby...."
  9. OK, I'll bite...although no one will probably know who or what this is: "And when I think of it.. my fingers turn to fists. I never did anything to you, man... But no matter what I try, You'll beat me with your bitter lies; So call me crazy, hold me down.. Make me cry, get off now, baby.. It won't be long 'till you'll be lying limp in your own hand."
  10. I was waiting for the part in the story where Grady leaves the gas pump in the team bus for too long and the whole place explodes.
  11. And one more of my future wife....
  12. Thora Birch, one of my personal favorites....heres another.... My Southern Belle...
  13. BJ, I'm right there with ya man. Actually her AND Thora Birch. But if 'Prozac Nation' ever comes out, Christina will be giving us all a shot of her 'splendor'. Heres one of the aformentioned Thora Birch. Hard to believe that she was the little red headed bratty child in Hocus Pocus!!

Could you have imagined that Koch woulda struggled this mightily coming into the 2003 season? No one but apparently Billy Beane could have. Its real easy to sit back and say it was a mistake now having seen this past season play out. But I loved the deal at the time, knowing Foulke may not have even had a shot as the closer for us with KWs dislike of him.
  15. OK DAMNIT!!! I get the point!! I was wrong!! Na, sorry...just messin with ya . True, the BB/IP for Cotts tells a large portion of the story.
  16. You aren't in that boat alone, CS1. I said 3 years ago that when the Olsen Twins hit 18, they are gonna be some SERIOUS trouble for their parents. And I have no problem being the root of that trouble if needed!!
  17. Only if I can make a Beat-Box. Pffft-chink-pffft-pffft-chink....

Agreed SS2K3, and I have long thought that I was in the minority of those that thought Damaso is too good of a Set-up man to make him closer. If that happened, then we have no one consistent enough to bridge us to the closer.
  19. Hmm, you learn something everyday. I thought it was a play on words of the Australian phrase, Bonzer!, as in "Great!" Looks like I was wrong. Mark it down, cause it doesnt happen much.
  20. "Damn Windows 98...get me Bill Gates in here now!!!.......I thought you said Windows 98 was gonna be faster?" "It is, its over......." BLAM!!

How ironic would it be if Billy goes to more of a changeup pitcher to get outs, when our last closer, who had arguably the best Changeup of anyone in baseball, was driven off because our GM wanted a power closer.....makes me kinda laugh

Thats a pretty sad statement there, considering who was in it. Clooney will always be one of my favorites for one movie alone......Oceans FREAKIN Eleven. I watch that movie all the time. Clooney better watch it, if it bombs, thats 2 Busts in consecutive years with Solaris. And Zeta-Jones...well, seems to me like her looks could save any movie, but apparently not judging by what you are saying...

Well, I agree, and I think that Billy is already preparing to face that possibility. He stated that he started to work on his off-speed pitches more. I love Billys work ethic, and I know that if it means he has to go Trevor Hoffman style, and learn to use breaking pitches to get the last outs of a game, then by all means thats what he'll do.
  24. Seems like Majewski is regressing bigtime right now...and I too don't believe that Miles will ever really be a MLB quality player, just one of those good stories you hear about in the Minor Leagues. Kinda like the one I always remember.... in 1992 the Greenville Braves, my local team, were in the Southern League Playoffs after completing a 100-43 season, best in AA in quite sometime, maybe ever. They had a pitcher named Mike Hostetler. Grady Little was the manager...YES, that Grady Little. Hostetler went out in the PLayoffs and threw a no-hitter that got the G-Braves to the Championship series. Earlier that year, a friend and I drove to Birmingham from Anderson,SC....why? to see the one and only Dan Pasqua who was on a rehab assignment there. After the game, we stopped to get gas and whos in there? Grady Little. He knew us from Greenville(I went to EVERY home game from 1992-1994). He asked us if we drove all the way down to see the baseball game, and saked if we were headed back. Unfortunately we had to go back. He asked us if we wanted to stay at the team hotel, they had some open rooms due to players that were hurt that didn't make the trip. Sorry if I rambled on, just rehashing some of the Minor League memories I have, and I have LOTS more.

Not sure that Gordon: a) will return to this team considering he can go to a number of teams for more $$$ and B) I don't have much confidence in the arm of Flash Gordon being able to survive 2 straight years of great ability. Thats a numerous surgically repaired arm. With that being said, I have the utmost confidence in Billy coming back righted in ST, and hopefully Coop and the trainers told him to not even pick up a baseball until February 2004. I don't want him to throw a ball for 4 months.
