    Buehrle

Wow...whats all the hate towards a brewing Buehrle vs Colon debate? Can't we just say that both are doing the job for us right now? Thats all that matters.
  3. Capn12

    Buehrle

Maybe, none of us know...but it won't be for at least 3 years anyways, thanks to arbitration and Sox having rights to Buehrle
  4. Judging by the way we usually perform against an unknown pitcher, I don't think we have an advanced scouting department.
  5. Well, we all know that is something that is always possible.
  6. In other news, KC already up 4-0 after 1 inning on Cleveland...wow, the Injuns aren't helping at all.
  7. Capn12

    Colon

Agreed, 7 IP from Bartolo will be fine with me...lets not push for him to always be our bullpen savior.
  8. Capn12

    Buehrle

Yeah, there are alot of times where it seems that Mark is indifferent to what is going on around him. That may just be his demeanor. Some guys just go and do thier thing on every 5th day, whoever it is against.

    Buehrle

Come on guys, we read a little too much into things sometimes. We have Garland, Loaiza, and Colon...we aren't losing much with not having Buehrle in there. We have 4 real good pitchers right now, 1 of them HAD to pitch against the BEST OFFENSIVE TEAM in the AL. I have the utmost confidence in those 3 pitching this series.
  10. Hey now, don't slaughter my good name like that!! Theres only one Captain Obvious!!
  11. I remember Mr. Bungle....maybe I need to check into some of that stuff.
  12. Well, if we get 70 mill to play with, then you are gonna see teh best Sox team on the field in 2004, that we've seen in years. We have arguably the best 1-2-3 in the A.L. Central, tons of power potential...especially if we upgrade at SS. And keep Gordon and Marte. That means letting Sully walk, and having a bullpen spot open next year.
  13. If you give Kazuo or Tejada the money that Everett would be making, actually less, say 7-7.5 mil...we can still keep the payroll at what it is now...but, the $64,000 question....will JR take the staples off the wallet?
  14. Ok, whatever guys....fact is, look at his numbers after the all-star break in 2002: G GS W L SV CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP BAA Pre All Star 36 0 1 4 9 0 0 41.0 40 22 22 5 10 31 4.83 1.22 .253 Post All-Star 29 0 1 0 2 0 0 36.2 25 4 3 2 3 27 0.74 0.76 .191 He should still be here, as the closer, plain and simple. Damn, Sox fans have such selective memories, only remembering the few times players don't get it done, instead of the overwhelming amount of times that they did get it done. In his time as a White Sox player, Keith had 100 saves, 425 K's in 446 IP, and a 2.87 ERA. Yeah, I can see all of you guys points clearly, he wasn't needed here at all
  15. And anti-kudos to KW for making Foulke feel like he wasn't wanted here at all.... :fyou K-Dub!!! Foulke shoulda still been here wearing good ole number 29...that still sickens me.
  16. Mike Patton has that kind of voice that is recognizable, and yet memorable anytime you hear it. I used to wear the FNM stuff out.
  17. Bulls***!!! I call bulls***. No way in hell that a $55 million payroll should be 'straining' JR and the boys. This is the type of crap that Sox fans have to put up with, and if its gonna be this way, why does JR even continue to bother? Oh, how nice would it be for someone with dedication to winning something to take over this franchise?
  18. see the Serious Talk for Next Years Team thread I started for salary information...
  19. Was it on Angel Dust that the cover of "Easy like Sunday Morning" was on? Man, I loved that version of that song.

    hey spiff

IMO, Shockey needs less shooting his mouth off, more catching the damn ball when its thrown to him....obviously I'm not a big fan of the Mouth of the Giants.
  21. Matsui won't be around "if its too late" on the other 2. He will be heavily pursued by those teams that need a SS, and we arent alone in that area. We gotta make competitive offers to Matsui AND Tejada, and hope we convince one of them to sign with us.
  22. Huh?? In terms of quality starts, that being minimum 6 IP and 3 or fewer ER, the guy has gone out and had 6 quality starts in a row...compared to Buehrles 3 in a row, Colons 5 in a row, and Loaizas 0 in a row.....uh, I'm all for a 23 year old that can get it done in the heat of a pennant race. Not sure what else you wat the guy to do, considering hes taking up only 375K in salary!!!
  23. Between Everett and Jose, thats 14.15 mill that can be spent on a SS of high caliber, a la Kazuo Matsui, or Miguel Tejada. That makes the most sense to me, although I haven't heard of the latest demands from Tejada...Jason, whats he looking for?
  24. Easier said than done. Those 2 are responsible for 14.375 mil next year, and have been probably the least productive in most Sox fans minds this year, so of course they are the first that most people wanna get rid of. Other GMs know the same things that we do, and know that Konerko at 8 mil for this years production, and Koch at 6.375 mil for this years production aren't worth taking a shot on. They are with us in 2004, good or bad.
  25. IMO, Colon at 9 or 9.5 mil is MUCH more important than Everett at any cost. I may be one of the few people that won't mind seeing Carl leave. He's done really good things while here, but he is not a necessity.
