  1. I'd much rather see Everett. I totally agree with you. I love Everett. by him sitting on his ass alot lately, it looks like the Sox don't want him around next year. I want him to be back real bad! I was considering sending KW a letter regarding what Everett brings to the team and that he should be brought back. I know its a stupid idea, and he wont even read it, but hey. I have nothing better to do. Sorry, but in terms of defense, Everett can't hold AaRow's jockstrap. Everett consistently throws the ball to the wrong base, allowing runners to advance. He gets quite a few bad reads, which normally means CLee and Maggs have to bail him out. Not to mention that he made 9.150 million this year, and thats something this team can't afford next year. That would be a 23 million dollar combo in CF and RF, thats ridiculous for a team that wont have a payroll over 65-70 million.
  2. Face it, either Frank at 6/8 million, or Konerko at 8 million have to go. I guess it'd be better to keep Frank, stick him at #5 in the order, let him DH, get us a REAL first baseman, and we save money there already.

No chance that Frank agrees to go to the #5 hole. He says himself that he should be the #3 hitter, and is VERY resistant to change. We tried that before, and Frank got grumpy about it.
  4. Well, you did say that it doesnt bother you, but yet you continue to put new topics up about Loz....just let it die, be content to not like Este, and that'll be that.

Thing is, he himself has dedicated his batting style to being all power, not OBP. When the big man himself says thats what he wants to do now, it is troublesome.

Frank gave us some great years, but sadly, its time for the organization to move on. Lets quit building a team of slow, right handed, power-or-popup hitters, and build a real team. Franks 6/8 mill, PKs 8 mill.....thats 20+% of our freakin payroll, on 2 of the worst fielding, slowest players around. If we can move both of them, so be it. If we can only keep one...thats tough....PK can play 1st everyday, albeit not greatly. Hes younger, but, as hard as it is to believe, slower than Frank. Catch-22 either way.
  7. Hmmm....you make that post sound like you won't be around when Loz is here next year....if thats the case, then.... If thats what it takes to keep you from these retarded posts, then so be it.
  8. Has anyone seen our "MVP" Frank Thomas?? He's been missing since the beginning of September. :fyou your useless cuts on Loz, Roman
  9. We're giving alot of credit to Jim Thome. He is not the messiah of winning baseball. He is a solid player...but a) hes slow, B) hes a power hitter. Those are 2 of the qualities that we have too much of already. I do understand your point, however.
  10. Yeah, no chance this team as it is can do much better, maybe +/- 5 games with a new manager. Too much slow footed, popup right handedness in the lineup. Bring in some switch hitting speed....some fundamentally sound players.
  11. And how often has he been given a chance to do that. Few times, sir. *Looks down in shame* no biggie beastly....you are one of the few people on these boards that can admit being wrong, thats commendable. (see any thread about loaiza). Willie, none of us are sure that he can get it done if playing regularly, but we might get to see in 2004, with a revamped Sox team.
  12. If that was 2 tonight, that makes 27 f***ing GIDPs....thats sad......and I bet as a team, we have 50.... :puke
  13. Not sure how you can say Koch has no passion for the game. The guy wants a shot to go out there and redeem himself everynight. He just doesnt have the arm strength or ability right now to do so. Olivo just can't hit any breaking pitches, otherwise he is a solid player that tries. Right now, I think its less about 'heart' and more about gametime performance. Right now, no one in this lineup is performing, or did when they needed to
  14. I was shocked to see Frank popout to the right side of the infield with runners on!
  15. When are we playing game #2 Heads? Time for the start RB Tommy Gunn to steal the show.
  16. ..............................I'm speechless..................honestly..........I have been dumbed down to new levels on this thread.
  17. Clarett is becoming a pretty big Tool in my mind. Hey guy, stay out of trouble, quit lying about things to the police, do your own damn schoolwork, and ya wouldn't have been in this position in the first place. :fyou
  18. Nobody gets a f***ing "break" because they have good career numbers!!!! We were in the heat of a huge series that could decide our playoff fate. Frank disappeared when we needed him the most, so did quite a few others. I'm not talking about all the good things someone has done for their career here, Roman, I'm talking about what happened these last 2 weeks that showed myself and alot of other Sox fans that these guys sucked when we needed them the most.
  19. Hypocracy runs deep in Virginia Beach, I see. Roman, you make less sense than my 2 year old nephew. NO one is saying they hate Frank, but most of us are saying that throughout his CAREER, not just this September, he has been an awful hitter in the clutch situations. That reason alone is why here in September, alot of us are barking Franks name. The fact remains that when we need him the most, he shows up the least. Also, you said something about Loz getting that 20th win to make himself better stat-wise.....uh, whattya think Franks been doing this whole time? He is hitting HRs now to pad those career stats. Rest assured, Frank is not alone in Septembers failures....Frank, PK, Jonny G, hell, even Sargeant Joe Crede has been pretty cold this month in clutch times. It happened to the whole team at once, unfortunately.
  20. C'mon, Rex....quit clouding the argument with facts here!!!
  21. DING!!! YOu got it...Hell no, I don't wanna see Maggs gone, but from an economical standpoint, we may have no choice. PK, at 8 mill for a slow footed semi power hitter, thats too much.
  22. Who said Maggs should go, mike? I said that we may have no choice but to trade him, because of $$$ issues, which will always be the case under JR
  23. AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K OBP SLG OPS Totals .356 1330 4981 873 1772 307 168 54 785 519 158 .000 .517 .000 Note, thats 158 K's, CAREER Roman...Franks pretty close to that this year alone. Think before you speak.
  24. Unfortunately, DK, I cant see us having over 20% of our payroll in 2004 tied up to 1 player. He may be traded just because of that.
