  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:50 PM) He went 7 inn...........3,2 inn,,,,,,,,,,,5 inn coming into today not that great to me. The 3 inning stint was a ejection for hitting someone. But the Sox have to let him walk them. That's when he gets in trouble.
  2. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) Except I would take last year's offense if I could, 13th in runs scored vs. 26th this year. That's not going to last. But it definitely is frustrating.
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:45 PM) Well .261 after today but your point still stands. Leuri is hitting .284 with 9 steals. AAA stat perspective.
  4. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) He's hitting .234 and striking out 35% of his ABs. I'll stick with "struggles". But he did have a good day today, so...hooray? Some here said Javy Baez's k rate as a 21 year old in AAA would keep him from becoming anything but a bust. Guess what 24 year old has a higher K rate?
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:38 PM) I think the going rate for pitchers like him is right around 9 figures, but then I significantly overestimated Shields's contract last offseason. A lot is going to depend on his numbers this year.
  6. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) I don't mind the idea of trading away Marty, but there is basically nothing at the TE position after him. I know he wants a new deal, but we've still got him under control for two years at a really reasonable price. Not sure that a 3rd/4th round pick is worth trading away a guy with his skillset at age 28. Yeah but he could hold out, and the Bears could be left holding the bag. The NFL is one league you can't get mad at players for wanting to renegotiate. They could get cut and get nothing, so if he turns out better than what was being paid, he has every right IMO to moan about money.
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:30 PM) WAY too early to make big decisions about samardzija. I think everyone knows he can pitch better than this. Obviously, but is he really a 9 figure pitcher?
  8. The Sox have 5 guys in their line up currently hitting less than .210. Hard to get to 8 .
  9. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) Connor is my least favorite player and I have been following davidson since we aquire him and really like what he brings to our lineup if we give him a shot. His D is not worse then connor, his power is way better then Connor and his batting average might be worse overall but not this year You're right, the offense could use a few more strikeouts. Didn't Conor drive in the go ahead run the last game the Sox played?
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:19 PM) That doesn't translate, they're very dissimilar players. If you'd said "If you don't like Flowers you aren't going to like Davidson", you'd probably have me agreeing. Not really dissimilar. If you don't think Gillaspie can hit or field, when you get a look, you will realize Davidson can't either.
  11. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:18 PM) Davidson had 6 RBIs today last I seen He also fanned 4 times a couple of days ago. Please, even Buddy Bell said AAA sucks.
  12. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:17 PM) I hope, davidson looks like he can add some pop to our lineup The guy has a good game and we will ingore the rest. If you don't like Conor, you aren't going to like Davidson.
  13. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:15 PM) Hawk, we are not right back in it. The only reason we even scored was because of an error and we are still down 5 According to another poster, the only reason Baltimore scored 6 in the first was because of an error.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 02:04 PM) I dont know why you feel im upset The thing is, if he isn't walking people, he is really good. He has a crazy motion that causes him wildness. Supposedly he has made some adjustments this season. I was watching Joe Magrane go on and on about Cooper stressing repeatable motion. I thought that would be a good fit with Jimenez. Maybe I was wrong. I certainly hope the Sox light him up, but no walks through 4 innings, it's no surprise they have no runs.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Thats nice. the first good stretch he has had since he joined Cleveland. Actually his second half in 2013 was pretty awesome. I don't know why he upsets you so much.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 01:50 PM) He cant face the Sox if they signed him. And then he would still be bad and not worth the contract you wanted to give him He has actually been really good so far this year.
  17. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 01:49 PM) Yeah what's our per-game ranking? Not saying the offense hasn't been mostly a major disappointment but with all the games we missed so far the total numbers are meaningless. I was looking at the runs scored yesterday and there were teams that had played 4 more games.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 01:46 PM) Ubaldo hasn't looked this good since his Rockies days. Told you the Sox should have signed him.
  19. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) Sox are 29 in majors in runs with only 60 and that being only 2 more from last. They are last in hits. That's pretty sad They have also played fewer games than most teams.
  20. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 01:43 PM) With men on base you have to, otherwise you walk runners. Abreu's throw put him in the situation to half to throw strikes and that's when good hitting teams take advantage. If nobody was on like that second at bats he can pitch to his game and get outs. Bottomline, if Abreu makes that play or even gets 1 out their they don't score. Funny, with nobody on, he walked De Aza. That inning, he was awful. 6 hits allowed. If he can't pitch with men on base, he isn't going to be any good. $100 million pitchers pitch over errors.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 01:30 PM) Somebody needs to rip Abreu for his bonehead move to open the floodgates, but I am sure RV will say nothing to rock the country club atmosphere under his watch! That Robin. It's really all his fault.
  22. You can take the boy out of Wrigley Field, but you can't take the Cubs out of the boy. Samardzija's agent is probably trying to call Hahn right now. Rick is playing the bad connection game.
  23. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 01:20 PM) He has had great moments and WTF moments. Mostly WTF as of late. I think it's time to let LaRoche put a glove on for a couple of games.
  24. I wonder if they did this in Chicago with no fans, if they still would have fireworks after homers.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) And if one of them were to get hurt while leaving the park at 5:00? Like someone said earlier. Make it Bat Day. Problem solved.
