  1. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 3, 2015 -> 06:11 PM) For every example you can find of a good team having a bad stretch, I can find 5 bad teams that have had the same thing. If you are saying the White Sox are a bad team, changing managers does nothing.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2015 -> 05:53 PM) If you don't want to call it that, then it is a team that is one of two things. Fundemenetally worthless, or incredibly tight. Either way, there is a breakdown somewhere in getting this team to play the kind of game they need to play. They don't look relaxed. They don't look comfortable, and then don't look confident. These are supposed to be Ventura's strengths. He is supposed to be an even keel guy that keeps his team from getting to high or too low, and gets respect for going about things the right way. Whatever is going on there, one thing can't be denied. When this team gets on the field, they are a disaster right now. It is a bad stretch without a doubt, but ever team goes through them. KC went through an 8-13 stretch last season, then lost 4 of their next 5. The Tigers went through a 7-17 stretch. This one is blown out of proportion because it is the beginning of the season and its all we have. Just keep in mind most teams will go on stretches where they win 8 of 21 or even worse.
  3. I don't think I have ever seen 3 HBP in the same inning.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) From where? Melky! Garci, LaRoche, Abreu, Alexei will hit a few, Flowers. Soto. Kris Bryant has 0 HR in about 70 PA.
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) Det and KC are way better than Sox 140 games or not. Team is going nowhere, team on the verge of a 4 game sweep to the division doormat. Why do you watch if you think there is no chance? Do you like to be miserable?
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) Abreu Then they should trade him, but I think that claim is ridiculous.
  7. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) You're right but this team as constructed has black holes at Catcher and 3B. That wont change. As it is now, they have liabilities at SS and CF. That could change. This team also has liabilities on 3/5ths of the rotation. More than likely, the best they will be able to do is have liabilities at only 2/5th of the rotation. Add in the fact that there is little chance of developing any power within this lineup and I don't see where this team can make the improvements needed to become a consistent winner. Enlighten me if you do. Power will come.
  8. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) You give the same shtick of excuses every single day. Say what you want, but this team is horrible in just about every way. Nothing else has to be said. All you do is whine and complain. Why watch the game?
  9. QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:36 PM) Sox players look like they don't even want to be on the field It is nice hyperbole, and you will get a few chronic complainers to agree with you, but just mention one player whio doesn't want to be there?
  10. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:35 PM) I wouldn't mind tanking to get a high pick at this point. It's obvious that they won't be contenders this year. Yeah, only 140 games left after today. It is over.
  11. The Sox have been getting some hits the last few games. They just can't get runs.
  12. What's with Danks and all the ks lately?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:13 PM) The White Sox have had 1 leadoff base hit in 22 games. f***ing Robin.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Find someone else to gouge with your $300 giveaway rings. Thanks, ayn rand Good one. Gordon Beckham.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 12:59 PM) You're right, because the $28 million in savings I created for Hahn In 2015 and 2016 would just wasted on Melky, LaRoche and Bonifacio buyouts. Oh, and paying Ventura not to manage as well. Greg should be GM and you can be his pitching coach. That would create some cost savings. There is no savings. Homer Bailey still gets paid. He is owed $86 million.LOL.
  16. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:08 PM) This team is absolutely unwatchable. I refuse until the hire a legit manager with a proven track record. If we get swept today, now is the time. How long can we keep waiting? Then don't watch,
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) Doubt Ventura will say a thing about it. He probably hasnt even heard of Bryan Price. Wht is the purpose of this post other than to troll? Find another bangwagon to jump on.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) Yankees will refuse to pay Arods $6 million bonus for passing Mays on the grounds that due to his steroid abuse they are unable to market the accomplishment which is part of the bonus clause in his contract. They have been avoiding even mentioning the approaching milestone in their press releases this month and now I know why. Yet they have no problem counting the WS they won with the roided up ARod contributing. If you go by the any oublicity is good publicity motto, ARod is still getting a lot of attention. If ARod files a grievance, it will be interesting how it goes, especially comsidering this particular $6 million payout, would actually cost the Yankees $9-12 million due to the luxury tax .
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 3, 2015 -> 11:16 AM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 3m3 minutes ago Adam Eaton is sick enough they sent him back to Chicago. Tyler Flowers also sick as are a few other guys. #WhiteSox I don't think the White Sox are going to be happy with Dan Hayes. This is exactly what Brian Price was fuming about. Don't let the other manager know you are playing a man or 2 short.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 10:59 AM) The same relevance as Gavin Floyd is the new poster child for why TJ surgery is ineffective. Actually, your provided example is much less relevant, because Harvey has more in common with Hoffman, Fedde, Giolito, Matuella, etc., since those pitchers are all quite young and havent had their arms (initially) put back together with screws and bolts. Woh this is for your Homer Bailey idea, where even the trainer said you were wrong. In an effort not to pay John Danks, you would rather pay Homer Bailey to rehab and then after 2 elbow surgeries and 3 partial seasons, be on the hook to him , a guy who has only posted a WAR above 2.7 once in his career, $63 million for 3 seasons. They probably won't even let you GM a fantasy league. It would be stealimg your money.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 08:20 AM) Mr. Harvey in NY seemed to survive TJ surgery no worse for wear. Fwiw. What is the relevance?
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 08:18 AM) Because constantly turning over the roster and expecting different results from the same manager is more logical. Well, more talent but the same woeful results and apathetic, disinterested style of play. Why? There is no apathetic , disinterested play. You doomsdayers just made that up.
  23. QUOTE (LDF @ May 3, 2015 -> 07:43 AM) first bold, yeah i know that, i was confuse on why Gardenhire will be a better coach by some of the other posters who keeps mentioning him. if i understand this correctly, he lost all those games... then why does posters think he will be better than RV?? Because logic doesn't enter in the equation. 8-13 is bad but not the end of the world. 2005 had a 5-12 streak and a 7-12 streak and they won 99.
  24. QUOTE (LDF @ May 3, 2015 -> 07:26 AM) ok, i mean not disrespect to any and all who keeps bring up Gardenhire as a coach for the sox. but can some one explain why they think he would be a good one??? First off, the Sox aren't going to fire Robin. Secondly, 99,96,96,92. Those are the amount of games Gardenhire managed teams have lost the last 4 seasons. On Soxtalk, losing with bad rosters is OK if it is with other teams. This year, the roster is better. They will start playing better.
