  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2015 -> 08:50 AM) “You go back and look at all this, and we didn’t start any of it,” Yost said. “None of it, with the exception of what happened in Anaheim (Trout incident). And nothing happened. Nobody got beaned. Nobody fought. That was our fault. But everything else, we didn’t start any of it.” In the coming days, players like Ventura, Volquez and Cain could face suspensions from Major League Baseball. Now the club finds itself in a curious place. Manager Ned Yost continues to defend the behavior of his players, despite the ugly optics of these incidents. Yost referenced how Samardzija hit Cain with a pitch on opening day, how the Brett Lawrie of the A’s took out Alcides Escobar with a slide, how Oakland’s Scott Kazmir hit Cain, how the White Sox’s Adam Eaton jawed with Ventura on Thursday. Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/sports/mlb/kansa...l#storylink=cpy Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/sports/mlb/kansa...l#storylink=cpy Samardzija hit Cain after a Royal acted like they won the WS running the bases after a homer. Apparently Eaton did yell something when Ventura walked at him and mentioned Fuddruckers. But Eaton was yelling at himself. It is Yost"s job to back his players, but if they really think they are fairly innocent, they are going to get hurt this year. Kazmir hit Cain with a slider. What about Ventura hitting Abreu? Ned was a catcher. He knows he is reaching.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:20 PM) He's the greatest shooter of all-time, imo. On Feb.15 you proclaimed Kyle Korver as the greatest shooter in NBA history.
  3. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:56 PM) Time to end the Avi in RF experiment. Avi will start hitting again, but defensively he is getting worse each year and he is pretty young. That is scary.
  4. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:39 PM) Which poster in that thread said they are in favor of batting Micah leadoff in this thread? Don't use generalizations, find a specific poster being hypocritical. As I said, but you don't seem to comprehend, there was a thread 5 days ago about sending Micah down, now there are people that want him to lead off.things change quickly. Sorry you are so offended. I was calling no one out. 5 days from now people might be in love with Avi again.
  5. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) Hahahahahaha. Has it ever been proven that Hawk has an iPhone? He always mentions it, but I have a hard time believing that he has one. He said he has a new Ipad Air.
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) You really are the king of combing all posters into one large hypocritical group. So there wasn't a thread?
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:30 PM) Still its a much different feel for a pitcher knowing you can walk Abreu if you get behind in the count...and a struggling hitter behind him. They can do that almost every AB with him. The bottom line he got pitches to hit.
  8. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:25 PM) Did you see where Perez was set up? That was not where Duffy was suppose to throw it So the pitch him carefully doesn't work out, just like I wrote.
  9. It was 5 days ago a thread was created that suggested Micah be sent to AAA. Things change quickly.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) Because they could pitch him carefully with 1b open and induce him to do exactly that....its called strategy. He doesnt swing, they simply walk him and Avi manages to mess things up again. Did you watch the AB? The first pitch was right down the pipe. If there was a way to pitch to Jose Abreu where he wiuld hit it right back to the pitcher, we would see it more often. They pitch him carefully every AB
  11. That was bad at both ends, and Jose was bad defensively. What do they have in common? Masks.
  12. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:16 PM) At ALL. The Robin handicap is very real. Measuring it won't be easy, but it's there. This too. Playing for a tie in the 3rd freaking inning!?!? Getting the go ahead run in scoring position with less than 2 out is not playing for a tie.
  13. 2nd and 3rd one out 3,4,5 hitters up usually means runs. Unfortunately Abreu hit it to the only place the run doesn't score on the ground.
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:02 PM) I agree. It's however a fundamental play that should be more successful than it is. I think it is hard to practice. You really can't do it every day and the guys you would have doing the running don't have the desperation someone in a game would .
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 07:58 PM) In run down plays you get rid of the ball to the advancing base. Then if you run at him you move him back to the original base. you make only a throw or two. Just like you teach the kids. Almost every team in baseball sucks at rundowns.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 07:53 PM) He's fine. Seems like an act to buy time. Great call
  17. How long are the appeals processes these days? They used to be ridiculous.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:10 PM) Watching a lot of Jorge Soler? He's gotta have zero peripheral vision in that mask he wears, you can barely see his eyes. There are several. I think it takes your mind just a little off the task at hand.
  19. If I were a manager, one thing I would ban would be hitters going up to the plate looking like they are about to rob a bank. It is cold but it's not that cold. If you are wearing mask hitting, IMO, you are already halfway back to the dugout. You need to block out the temperature.
  20. I think it's time to break out the 1983 uniforms and win the next 3.
