  1. QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) Cain's shirt was pulled over his head but it was tough to see anything clearly. Cain must have had his ass kicked out
  2. The formula is to totally suck for 20 years then barely make the WC get lucky that game go on a nice run but still lose the WS and all of a sudden there is a Royals "way" and they think they are so special.
  3. Vince Coleman must have worked with the Royala.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 08:16 PM) See Hahn, Rick. It takes time to change the organizational philosophy. If Moore had been the GM for the past 20 years, your retort would be relevant here. Maybe the White Sox need an actual organizational philosophy for the minors and majors like the Cardinals put together....a guidebook for every single player in the organization to read. It's not rocket science, Buddy Bell. Most of KS line up didn't even play rookie ball with them.and most of the guys who did like Gordon and Moose are hardly ball in play guys.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) Because the Royals are taught from the beginning in short-season/rookie leagues to put the ball in play, especially up the middle... They have just been great the last 20 years
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 03:28 PM) So what are Cubs fans excuse? They're drunk.
  7. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 03:26 PM) They don't have 2 of there best bullpen pitchers so it would be highly important to win tonight. The Sox also have Q, Danks, and Noesi pitching the next 3 so based on everyone's vibes it's doesn't look good for the next 3. Q should bounce back. Danks has been stellar vs. KC, and Noesi pitched pretty well the other night. This is a sweep.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 03:15 PM) Betances is very tough and maybe even better than advertised...you can certainly see why they were willing to let Robertson (who's been simply great for the Sox) go. Money is no object to the Yankees. A 7,8,9 of Betances, Miller, and Robertson could be in the picture for best of all time. Considering they have some starter issues, it would make sense to keep the 3 together and lower Betances paycheck once his arb clock starts.
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) Cubs lose and Bryant/Soler/Russell went 1-9 with 6 Ks. That's a shame.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 02:49 PM) Royals fans are becoming as angsty as their douchebag team. I really wonder what kind of Royalmania would be occurring if Lester didn't blow a 4 run lead in the 8th inning last year, and they would have been eliminated after 1 game. Yet another reason to hate Jon Lester.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) PNC Park opens southeast. Hence the word most. I think it used to be pretty standard, but several teams have built stadiums next to their old ones, and face a different way.
  12. The other thing is Q has not had 3 bad starts. He did have a good one in the middle.
  13. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) Mr. Reinsdorf said the exact same thing to me way back in '96 or '97 (I can't remember which year) at a season tickets holders get-together in the Bullpen Sports Bar right after the end of the season. I asked him why they didn't point the stadium in the direction of downtown, and he, too, said it was because of the sun. That answer, of course, never made sense to me, given that the old park faced that direction for 80 years. I wonder if they look at LF from about 4 pm to 8pm during the summer. I believe most major league parks face NE.
  14. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) dang, it is a bite getting old. but if my memory is right, they asked the question of the skyline to, i honestly think it was Eddie Eihorn (sp), who was the spoke person for the owners group and he said it was b/c the sun. the going down and the sun in the eyes of the players during day games. If he said that, it is a lie.
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 01:32 PM) BigHurt3513 complains above to absolutely everything though... Lol He also added, But here we go! So it wasn't like he was totally against the idea until it backfired and then the Ha ha, Robin strikes again. You f***ing stupid bastard. He was straddling the fence ready to go either way.
  16. QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 01:27 PM) Nah, the string I referenced was before he threw a pitch. I specifically remember. Most of the outrage was hindsight but that was not. I just looked it up, there was one that said "I'm not sure I am a fan of Rodon coming in with runners on base". That's not exactly adamant, more like taking both sides. Other than that, everyone was a bit pumped up.
  17. QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 01:23 PM) Not true, I remember because I responded to a complaint. I believe the complaints came after his first pitch or 2.
  18. Rodon was set up to succeed. He was sent in to face a LH .150 hitter who is 1-9 with 6 strikeouts vs. LHP. It would be pretty hard to find a more favorable match up. If you look at some of the posts of the people who love to rip Robin after the fact and are ripping this move, you will realize if he stayed with Noesi and Noesi didn't get the out, they would be ripping him for not going with Rodon. There were ZERO complaints about going to Rodon in the gamethread until after the fact.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 12:08 PM) According to Jon Rothstein and CBS Sports, Kevin Ollie is removing his name from consideration for the OKC job. YES! OKC has Thibs written all over it.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 10:51 AM) Jeff Passan ‏@JeffPassan 6m6 minutes ago The catch with Joe Nathan: Tommy John revisions, especially with flexor-tendon tears, require a much longer rehab time. Closer to 18 months. So he's looking at a potential comeback at 42 years old after surgery. I could see someone giving him a minor league contract, but he's got to be done. He had a great career.
  21. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 10:28 AM) How did I miss Geddy Lee attending multiple Sox games this year. The real Geddy actually did attend a Sox game in 2013. He was sitting behind the Sox dugout in the front row. Steve Stone mentioned him. He's a baseball nut.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 10:16 AM) Kris Bryant back in center field today. Anybody in the know think he can handle that full time or is just because of the injury crunch? Last night was the first time he played CF as a professional. I could only imagine if Kris Bryant was a White Sox and they had him play CF. I guess Joe Maddon must be a big dope.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:53 AM) For a guy who hates to be addressed personally, you sure seem to love chasing after Caulfield. You don't think he loves the Royals?
