QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) Now if Pods was in center, that ball would of been racing towards the wall. Pods would be on the ground stunned. After a while he would jog to the wall to get it and throw a flyball back to the infield.

Take notes Pods.

Crede had a similar play last season and Ramirez hit the next pitch that bounced of a satelite. Crede played much better after that IIRC.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) And play who at SS? SANDY! Pablo would be the call right now. It actually might wake Uribe up.

I'm a huge Uribe fan, but if Cintron wasn't DHing right now, I would take him out of the game right in the middle of an inning.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) I know my title says Brokeback Pratt, but I am not a homosexual, and I haven't watched Brokeback Mountain, either. Thought I'd get that out of the way. not that there's anything wrong with it.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) Crap...we're in trouble now. Anyone have an idea on how soon it might rain? I think they said it would be an hour or 2. I still wouldn't take any chances and have Freddy on a short leash and not worry about his getting a W.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) Great....now the wind is conspiring against us. Hawk is just giving you the wind's perspective.

The bullpen needs to be up. Freddy is going to implode soon, and the rain is going to come.

I wonder what Ozzie would be like after a couple of bong hits.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) I think he's called chief because he looks Native Americanoish. Robert Parish and Freddy both have been called "chief", and both have been linked to smoking weed. But he does look like a Native American.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) Yes, I do believe so. Maybe the Sox can set up an organ donation with Vazquez? Vazquez probably would decline. But DJ could use one of his/her nuts.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) I'm not sure if enough people know who he is. He's the she/he/she in Wedding Singer. Isn't he in the process of becoming a she?

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) ...and who did the Royals trade Jermaine Dye for? That's right, Grienke, Dejesus, and Alex Gordan. Oh wait a minute. They traded Dye for NEIFI PEREZ!!!! It would be interesting to see who was available with the draft picks they would have received if they had kept him.

Freddy has been good so far, I'm not confident of it lasting, a 4 or 5 spot here would be nice.Awfully nice.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) It's not an excuse, its the truth. I don't make excuses for Podsednik, as I am one of the biggest advocators of getting a new leadoff man. If he's hurt, why the hell is he leading off and playing LF for a team trying to win another WS?

QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) he had a real good month in may or june though... Its all about rythm. Once Pods finds his rythm, he will really take off.

QUOTE(PA32R @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) "usually never" huh? Poor choice of words, make it rarely, and it is usually the opposition.
-
Sox @ KC - 8/2 Game Thread
Obviously, Hawk doesn't think much of Freddy. He usually never gives a player a little jab like that. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:51 PM) Seriously what the hell has given Pods this right to lazily run to 1st? He probably read Soxtalk in 2005 and believed everything he read.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 09:39 AM) It appears to me that Thome's absence has made the guys remember how to play again. Either that or the Baltimore and KC pitching staff.
