  1. I only have access to gameday or gamecast whatever its called, but it appears the offense seems to think it has enough runs. Maybe they do, but I would love to see a few more on the board.
  2. Get on Grilli early and often.
  3. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) nope it happened in 01 with Houston and St. Louis. St.Louis won the Central because of their head-to-head advantage and Houston won the WC. Then why are they saying the Sox magic number is 2? If your scenerio is correct it would be 1.
  4. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Contreras has become the Sox 3rd 15 game winner. Someone might want to drop Jeff Brantley a note.
  5. QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) THIs GUY PUT THE TEAM ON HIS BACK AND WON WHEN FEW OTHERS ON OUR TEAM WON! THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT WITHOUT HIS EFFORTS WE MIGHT BE LOOKING UP AT THE INDIANS............... JOSE.................YESSSSSS Might be? There is no doubt about it.
  6. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) No, a tie at the end of the season will result in a one game playoff, not head to head matchups. Sorry to disappoint. The problem with a playoff especially if you lose you are still in the playoffs is it really messes up your pitching staff for the first round.
  7. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Wait - if the Sox go into Cleveland up 3 games then the tribe could conceivably sweep and force a one game playoff if they end the regular season with the same record. That's my understanding. That's what I thought, but another thread said that's not the case.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) Here's a question I waited for the game to end to ask: If the Sox win tomorrow, they win the AL Central due to head-to-head tiebreak. Do the Sox go all out against Cleveland, or rest the pitchers/players? They probably need to rest some guys, but it would be BS to throw a Sunday line-up out there more than one time, considering the Boston/NY/Cleveland race.
  9. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) At night while we play at noon. I want Cleveland to win tomorrow so we can clinch on the field on Friday. It was in another thread that if the Sox and Cleveland tied and they were ahead of the second place team in the East that there would be no playoff that the Sox would win due to head to head competition. Is this true, because if it is a victory tomorrow clinches the Central.
  10. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) Jenks hasn't pitched much lately, and hasn't been very impressive lately. His curve is not as sharp. Then he drops one off the table. Yes.
  11. Jenks hasn't pitched much lately, and hasn't been very impressive lately. His curve is not as sharp.
  12. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) Tejada they come, Tejada they fall. A little Chris Berman never hurts. A lot of Chris Berman is cruel and unusual.
  13. Maggs looks like he's trying to drop in a mullett.
  14. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) French?? Yes, what he said.
  15. Hat's off to the Count. Without him the Sox are toast.
  16. A laugher at last.
  17. Save some runs for tomorrow.
  18. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) adam dunn? he can't play the field. and he whiffs about a million times pass on that. And he walks a million times, and he'd hit a few on the concourse. He could DH
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) Ya, and for once Hawk wasn't talking out of his arse when he said that. Paulie has been a bright spot as of late. I'm really glad. I'll be so so mad if he walks during the off-season. I'm sick of how underappreciated he is by a lot of Sox fans. He's a good player, but the thing I'm leary of is what he's going to be like in year 3 or 4 of a huge contract. If the Sox have a good postseason run, I'd be shocked if he didn't come back. One thing is he's really not that big and doesn't have a lot of muscle to rip and/or pull, but his hip has to be a concern down the road.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) You called that last night. Maybe JimH should take Ozzie's place
  21. I can't believe Comcast isn't broadcasting Cleveland's loss yet.
  22. I'm telling you, the amount of runners the Sox left on the bags tonight, comes back to haunt you often. A pitching change is needed here.
  23. Its good to know DJ has this one salted away.
  24. I'm not mad at Rowand. At least it wasn't to SS. This is a huge run. Leaving as many out on the bases as the Sox have usually comes back to haunt you.
  25. Ozzie is a genius batting Everett sixth.
