QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Fire Guillen! He sucks! He is a piece of s*** manager! He makes Lime look like Cy Young and he gies everybody too many off days! I wish my boss was as liberal with days off.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) Oh, Ok -- didn't realize that he was pitching tonight, too. I hope they show a replay on Comcast tonight. It seemed fairly deep to me. You'll get no argument from me that he misplayed it horribly, just want to see how far it was hit. It was a routine play. He didn't make it, was probably rapping to himself.

Well if Willie would have caught a routine pop up it still would be 1-0.

The day Willie Harris is removed from the roster, I am going to have a party. Everytime the guy screws up, and he screws up a lot, it always comes back to hurt the White Sox.

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) Not to be insensitive, but it looks like Boston is going to pull the trigger on Burnett now. I truly do hope that Clement is okay. Is this from a report, or your personal opinion?

Anyone see pictures of Lima's wife when he sang the anthem last season? I wonder how much those watermelons cost him. Not nearly as much as passing along the herpes.

Clement
I saw the story on Real Sports about guys getting drilled with balls off aluminum bats. A couple guys died. This is very scary. Hopefully, he will be alright. One kid who died was conscious(sp?) when he went to the hospital and passed later on.

Sox scouting Lyle Overbay
With Overbay's production, and the fact he makes less than $500,000 a year and isn't eligible for arbitration until after next season, he is going to cost a lot in terms of players to acquire.
-
Sox scouting Lyle Overbay
I would be shocked if the Sox acquired Overbay. I think right now they are exhausing all possibilities for a replacement for Frank. I wouldn't doubt they are looking at and have scouted Overbay, because he would be a logical replacement, but actual serious trade discussions I would really doubt.

The AJ Burnett Rumor Mill II
QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) The trade deadline is on the horizon. What if KW doesn't make 1 move- will you all be pissed off? Not initially. I'd have to wait for the rest of the season and playoffs to be played out. Maybe doing nothing is the best thing. There seems to be some obvious holes on this team, I know they are trying to do something about them. If creating other holes to fix these are all that's being offered, there's really not much you can do about that. It is one of the hazzards about waiting until the trade deadline to make moves as opposed to doing it in the offseason. You may have a very fair deal on the table, but it takes 2 to tango, and teams are reluctant to help the competition. All the guys we've been mentioning are big name players. Its very difficult for teams to sell their fans on some minor leaguer with a 5.00 era as proper compensation for that player. Rebuilding is a very ugly word for fans.

Shingo????
I was listening to the radio the other day and Levine said according to KW, Shingo most likely will not be traded. They are trying to convince him to report to Charlotte, but believe he will elect to become a free agent.

Wasn't the Burnett deal supposed to be announced this morning, per a Bears message board?

Jason Schmidt News
Schmidt's combined ERA his last 8 starts is under 3.00.

Jason Schmidt News
I don't think there is any more significance of KW being at the game last night as opposed to a White Sox scout. KW was in town, and Schmidt was here too. Its not like KW is going to go home and go to sleep. I thought Gammons said Schmidt was not available?

Badmouthing Cellular and the Whitesox
I was switching channels yesterday and caught around the horn. The topic was the best team in the AL. Of course, Mariotti chose the Angels, the guy from Denver ruffled his ESPN bosses feathers with his proclamation that the White Sox would go all the way. Calishaw, I think his name is, will probably be suspended for saying the White Sox. And Plashke said it was the Angels, and took it to another level saying the Angels are privately saying they want to play the White Sox in the first round, thinking they will destroy them due to lack of playoff experience vs. the playoff tested Angels. Of course he didn't mention most of the Angels had no playoff experience when they won the World Series a few years ago. It used to make me mad, but now I just laugh. When the White Sox win it all watch how many of these guys claimed they saw it all along.

Sox @ Royals 7/25/05 Game Thread
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) LOL. That's nuts. In 1993 the Yankee payroll was only $600,000 higher than the Royals who had the highest payroll in the AL West.
