  1. If Omar Vizquel is available, how about him? Uribe could go back to the role where he flourished last season. Omar is getting up there in age, so he would need a breather. Crede probably will need a lot of time off, and Iguchi could rest every now and then. The contract for Vizquel is the turn off. They didn't want to give him an extra year last winter, or he would be with the White Sox and Iguchi would probably not. But IIRC, the difference in the total package SF gave him vs. the White Sox is less than $3 million so maybe they would now be willing to roll the dice, considering $2 million of that contract has already been paid and Omar is playing well. Ozuna could move into Harris' role, and when Uribe is spelling Omar, Vizquel could come in late in the game and steal a base or actually get a bunt down. Ozuna could have Harris' current role. Bad backs concern me, because they usually become chronic.
  2. The little guy named Tim Kurtdjfdjkddkian on ESPN said yesterday the guy the Reds want to trade is Griffey.
  3. As pathetic as the offense was tonight, it is so awesome they get a win against a team that has been on fire.
  4. Belliard is dangerous. Didn't he hit most of his homers last year against the Sox?
  5. Why did Pauly give up on that ball so soon?
  6. This is usually when Marte beans somebody
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Jeez, AJ is really not a good hitter this year. You probably didn't think that the Saturday night game against the Dodgers.
  8. Let's start the second half off the exact same way we started the first half off...... with a 1-0 win over Cleveland.
  9. The offense has not produced a run since the 3rd batter of the game.
  10. QUOTE(BamaDoc @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) Absense of Gload equals no pinch runner for Konerko. That's really hard to understand. Gload must still be having problems.
  11. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) I still disagree on how ozzie uses Politte. One batter? like Politte can't handle a lefty. THe fact that Dam pitched ok is not the point I agree. I think either the Count or Marte should have been pitching to Boone. There was no reason for Politte only to pitch to one batter.
  12. Bobby Howry has been know to cough up a run or two.
  13. QUOTE(BamaDoc @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) Marte did have rehab assignments so sharp shouldn't be an issue. If this is him our pen looks much better. I think he only made 1 appearance though. Statistically, it wasn't impressive.
  14. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) i disagreed w/ JC in the 7th......he did well i disagreed w/ marte coming in.....he did well. Who don't you want pitching the 9th?
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) Ozzie quit f***ing over managing Politte is fine to face LH Exactly. If Politte was only going to face Boone, you might as well of had the Count pitch to him so Politte could be used later.
  16. That's probably all for the Count. Hopefully the bullpen can hold 'em. The Count deserves a win tonight.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) I do, too. Gives himself more range by playing deeper. And, I didn't see the first couple innings, so forgive me if I missed something, but Contreras is not getting the same strikezone as Millwood. Millwood is getting the calls off the plate, and up in the zone. Contreras isn't even getting the knee high strike called. IMO. In the 1st inning, Millwood was getting nothing above the belt, but getting the low strike 6 inches below the knee. That's why Dye swinging at a pitch over his head with the bases loaded really chapped my ass.
  18. Millwood is just mowing them down.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) LOL. How is that lack of concentration? He lost it in the freaking lights. That's meant to be sarcasm right? He didn't lose it in the lights. It was hit too high. He lost it in the sky. Podsednik is probably picking the ball up off the bat. With all the trouble he has had this year losing balls in the sky, he has to concentrate on the ball out of Contreras' hand. I know it doesn't seem like it makes a difference, but it really does.
  20. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) i've never seen something like that before. that's called chemistry folks That's called lack of concentration by the LF, and the CF doing his job. That is also the reason the White Sox are lucky Aaron wants every flyball hit to the outfield.
  21. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) Truth is, Burnett isn't much more consistant than the Count. I've consistantly said that I like Burnett, but I wouldn't break the bank for him. Burnett tonight 5 IP 6 ER 3 HRs allowed 4 BB 3 K.
  22. Jose balks. He should go to the wind up now.
