  1. Maybe Hawk decided to un retire.
  2. I guess Rosenthal did say a Joc trade isn’t close, and the chat on MLbTR made it seem the Sox and LA weren’t a match anyway.
  3. The Sox won a division with an OF of Quentin, Griffey Jr., and Dye. Not exactly speedsters.and befor they pick up Giriffey, Swisher was playing CF.
  4. I wish. I just think the old Soxfest surprise doesn't make much of a difference. If they have something to announce. I think they should announce it. Not wait until Soxfest. Besides if there is something to announce sitting on it makes the chance for a leak only go higher. There are a lot of Sox fans that won't be at Soxfest especially Friday night.
  5. If they announced it today, would you still by a 10 game package either on line or when you went to Soxfest?
  6. Actually they have an area for season tickets. I don't know if you actually can purchase or not. But individual games aren't on sale yet. I don't see where saving it for Soxfest is an advantage. Everyone there would still be high over it if it was announced yesterday, and their ticket office would have some action.
  7. Back in the day I had Bulls season tickets and I wasn't renewing after Jordan, Pippen, Rodman and Phil left. They had someone call me who was urging me to return. The Bulls had traded for Chuck Person. He was trying to sell me on this. They did trade for him and immediately waived him.
  8. Yolmer Sanchez and Tyler Saladino seemed to know what they were doing with the glove. Tim Anderson seems to have figured some things out. Tyler Flowers improved greatly. Sometimes getting better is on the players. As much as we need to find fault with everyone but the guy who sucks sucking, sometimes that line of thought is just wrong.
  9. Also keep in mind Narvaez was in Tampa's system. So it would be a dig at them, and they actually have developed players. Narvaez's problems are because of Narvaez, not coaching.
  10. John Orton is or was their minor league catching coordinator, and he is pretty good. He made Tyler Flowers actually major league acceptable.
  11. Maybe Ribbie and Rhubarb are making a surprise appearance.
  12. There are so many guys on the 40 that 99% will suck. Baneulos,Covey, Frare,Fulmer, Medieros, Ruiz, Stephens, Viera, Cordell, Delmonico, Engel. That's 11 right there. I think if the Sox wanted to they could run them all through waivers right now, and at most lose 4 or 5 of them, and they probably wouldn't care.
  13. I don't know how much worse it will be than 2018, and they had a 62 win team vs. the worst of the worst. So, it's fair to say that while they don't have as far to go as someone playing in the AL East to be really good, they have a really long road. It's a horrible baseball team that needs a lot to go right. Hopefully it will. Some are bound to improve. Hopefully to star status, but some we think can be great , aren't going to pan out. Then we will have the guys that got us to 78 wins, trying to acquire veterans to put the White Sox over the hump.
  14. To be fair, they actually got Bobby Bonilla for nothing. Rule 5 draft. Traded him for Jose DeLeon who they traded for the One Dog. Also, had they had kept Bonilla, they might not have been bad enough to draft Frank Thomas. So that actually worked out pretty well.
  15. No one will laugh if they offered the most money. Then they had a shot. I just hope this isn't a , "no one gave us a chance, but we had a chance, and didn't convert". If you have a chance, convert or STFU as far as I'm concerned. Every team has a chance if they are prepared to pay a ton of money.
  16. Yes, but things are fluid, so anything can happen.
  17. If a guy is trying to re-establish himself, pitching in the NL in SF is far more desirable than pitching in the bandbox on the South Side vs. AL opponents.
  18. If it's contingent on trading Pederson, why would a Pederson trade come after? But before or after, he's bound to be right.
  19. The funny thing is, with the argument here, both sides are right.
  20. I went on the Paul Bunyan axe ride at MOM. It got stuck with us upside down for about 15 minutes. When I got out of there, I was green. My dad was laughing at me.
  21. When the Sox are good, you don't want Joc Pederson in CF with Eloy and another guy with not much range making out your OF. But for now, Pederson in CF wins more games than Engel in CF because Engel cannot hit. Pederson is fine in CF in 2019 when you aren't contending, but if he costs anything, as much as I have always coveted him, it really makes little sense. If you can get him for basically nothing, fine. It will make the team better.
  22. It was horrible, but if he actually turned around and played the ball, it was probably a pick six.
  23. I just don't see, A. why it would make any sense, and B. how it wouldn't come out pretty quickly. There are other teams negotiating. If you agreed to a contract, those negotiations would stop, and it would come out. They might not want anything to come out today, due to the HOF announcement. But more than a day or two, it would be next to impossible to keep secret.
