Soxtalk Odds: Signing Manny or Bryce Harper November 2018 edition
I am hoping for some sort of miracle, but doubtful. O-10, a lot closer to 0 for either. Both is even closer to 0. I do think signing Harper might be worth more to the White Sox than any other franchise. He puts them and keeps them on the map more than any other player IMO.even Mike Trout, he honestly might be worth $40 million a year to them, but I can not see JR going there.

White Sox Bryce Harper FA pitch spoiler?
Yeah, and if Harper was meeting with JR at the UC, it wouldn't be during a Hawks game. It would be during down time.

I think it's pretty much a toss up who is better, but I do agree, Harper is the most marketable, and probably the most marketable guy in baseball. Plus, he hits LH. Harper is a guy that really could change the White Sox pattern of being ignored. Maybe the only one.

Has it even been confirmed that is what it was? I mentioned that what I thought was a possibility. It also may be since Harper tweeted wearing a Bulls hat, the Bulls decided to put something together to tweet back at him. Or it could be Bulls employees messing around. Or it could be that have a presentation for him made, but since the tweet with the Bulls hat, decided to add to it.

Corbin has become top target
I would think if you continue to do the same thing, the same stress will be put on the same ligament, and something is going to go wrong. I think it's been proven surgically repaired ligaments still explode.

If the White Sox offer Harper $100 million more than any other team, like what happened with A Rod, you are correct, the pitch won't matter. One thing you do forget with ARod, is that he had his contract adjusted to move to NY. In fact, he agreed to adjust it even more to go to Boston, but the player's association said no dice.

Corbin has become top target
I don't have the slightest idea. I don't know these guys on twitter. I hope not. But I guess in the end, order of priority doesn't matter. Who you add does.

And showing Bryce Harper he will be the White Sox Michael Jordan is a selling point. Especially if they have anywhere near the same success.

If the money is similar, how you sell your organization and what he can expect his experience to be is very important. I don't think there is anyone thinking this particular thing would be something that made Harper sign with the White Sox. The White Sox wouldn't even think that. It's just some fun part of the presentation.

You can spin it how you would like, but top priority to me considering these guys are all free agents and theoretically could sign a contract today, would mean the others are not top priority.

Yes it's in that Atrium where Harpers name and number are on a ribbon board.

White Sox Bryce Harper FA pitch spoiler?
Maybe. Maybe not. I never met Harper. And sure, if the money isn't right, it's meaningless. But other teams are doing it, so how would it look if the Sox said, you don't care about that, so we didn't bother? It isn't going to change their money offer. Maybe he is a Bulls fan. Maybe he loves Michael Jordan. If so, I bet they have MJ give him a message. It doesn't hurt the White Sox position. It might help. It's a small part of their pitch. I assume you have a resume. Do you know that depending on the employer, most can give a shit about most of it? But you have it on there anyway. Why? Because there is the possibiltiy it could matter in some small way.

Corbin has become top target
The original post said Corbin was the top priority. That means all the Machado/Harper stuff was BS. Then they "go for it" signing a 38 year old DH, and hoping against hope about 10 guys turn it around. It's been their blueprint for 12 years when they want to call themselves contenders. A woefully short roster, hoping for the best.

Unless it was fake, the guy probably didn't want all that came with having that photo on his twitter.

I was just messing around.

And that's a big maybe. Career year going into free agency. Previous health concerns. Team not contending. What could possibly go wrong?

I thought it was possibly the White Sox filming a presentation. But that could also be it. The Bulls returning the favor, and giving him a hint.

I think you are playing with fire with any free agent pitcher you sign. I think you are stepping into the fire if you pay them big money and aren't going to be competing for a playoff birth in year 1 of the deal, which probably is the year the best performance can be expected. You are better off waiting because so many things happen to pitchers.

Did you notice they gave him Kopech's jersey number?

Maybe they are filming his "presentation". He did have a Bulls hat on. A Harper jersey on the Jordan statue sort of plays to that.

Corbin has become top target
They didn't want to pay Buehrle $56 million over 4 years, and won 88 games with Humber and his Lucas Giolito like ERA in the rotation. That was a season after We're all in. I know their current payroll is low, but you sign Corbin and he isn't all that, suddenly it creeps up fast. And you can believe what you want to believe, but so far all in doesn't mean anything close to $200 million payrolls. Is this twitter account known to be somewhat reliable?

Corbin has become top target
Does anyone really believe Patrick Corbin is the signing that would convince one of these guys the Sox are on their way? Who knows if this tweet is even accurate, but if it is, as Geddy Lee once sang, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Hahn says Eloy will spend most, if not all of the season in Chicago
Yes I am serious. They trained in FL, so probably never saw him, and probably don’t follow the White Sox minor leagues too much. And Bryant had to go back to the minors for 2 weeks when Lester signed, so apparently there was no ultimatum.

What is the purpose of your post. You must think you are clever.
