  1. I saw an old interview with the organization head who actually gave Trump the short list. He had a lot of names on there. I think about 20. He was asked who his favorite was, he said you could throw a dart to decide, it didn't make much of a difference. Trump picked this guy because he doesn't think a POTUS should be indicted. Once this is settled, it will be back to Russia and Michael Cohen....Kavanaugh being a Bush guy is a huge negative to Trump. He picked the wrong guy.
  2. Everyone knows, including you, that Kavanaugh lied last Thursday about things other than this alleged incident. There really is no argument he did not. Granted, some may be little white lies about things, but they are still lies. So, if a guy is lying about the small stuff, and his accuser concerning the big stuff comes off as credible from people on both sides, doesn't that usually mean bad things for the accused? Wouldn't it, shouldn't it, leave at least a shred of doubt about his innocence? He isn't going to jail, this isn't innocent until proven guilty. This is putting a guy on the Supreme Court. You would think republicans could find someone better who would have the same effect over the issues they want addressed. This whoever is the most shocking or whoever is the loudest wins realty TV inspired world in which we now live is something I look forward to seeing shift back to a point where at least a little civility is appreciated by all.
  3. I agree. The day Madrigal gets called up, he is the smartest baseball player on the team.
  4. I agree. Next year, if he hits 10 doubles 1 triple and 0 homers, maybe worry. But he did get injured this season in college, getting acclimated to professional baseball and wooden bats, and still hit as many homers as Luis Robert, and no one thinks Robert has no power.
  5. I don't know how anyone can be married to anyone on the White Sox current roster that is older than 24 or 25. Jose Abreu led the team for those with at least 100 plate appearances in OBP at .325. .318 is major league average including pitchers. Most of these guys suck pretty much with the bat. And lets face it, there aren't too many gold glove candidates around either.
  6. Exactly. The next time the White Sox have too many good players for one position other than should be a DH, will be the first.
  7. What would happen if I were in Kavanaugh's court room and acted like he did? Or a lawyer in his court room and talked back to him like he did?
  8. Which is another interesting take. Their record for 3 or 4 years before their at least semi-rebuild, was very similar to the White Sox, and they had the Cubs in their division. Somehow, they were able to get good without totally tearing it down. How long they will be good is a good question, but at least they got good. Trading Sale, Q, and Eaton on team friendly contracts in some way is admitting you don't know what you are doing developing players, and need to stock up on players who were developed elsewhere.
  9. One game, it depends who’s pitching.
  10. I remember being at high school parties, sober as a judge, and things that happened at those parties. There aren’t too many I remember the date or how exactly I got there or got home.
  11. They are now very familiar with striking out, walking people, giving up a lot of runs, bad baserunning, not getting on base, foolishly bunting, and losing games. The problem is, they all were pretty familiar with all of that before this season . I get they knew winning wasn't going to happen this year, but if they want to say this season was successful in any way, it's fluff. What else are you going to say when despite playing 2 teams 38 times that lost 98 and 103 games, you have the franchise's worst record in 48 years?
  12. If this team loses a player that turns into something in the rule 5, shame on them. There have been far healthier organizations that have lost nothing. The rule 5 hasn't really produced much in recent years.
  13. Now bring in Hader and this ballgame is ova, unless Cubs players have a talk with Maddon.
  14. Nothing can be done now but hope and pray, but the big difference in the successful rebuilds and the Sox current attemp, were changes to the regimes that put them in the spot that required one.
  15. I was watching MLB Network last night and Greg Amsinger was on with Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac. Amsinger kept saying don't let Yelich beat you, the others just kept talking about how Q dominates the Brewers and L vs. L. The non player was correct, at least for now.
  16. Also worth noting, the Braves didn't have Sale, Q and Eaton to move. I would imagine if the Cubs, Astros, Braves...whichever rebuild we want to compare and determine time-wise, this will go the exact same way with the exact same result, their timelines would have been bumped up if they acquired 8 or 9 prospects a few elite for some on their roster.
  17. Dems have to start harping on all his lies the other day, even the simple stuff like Renate alumnus, boof, and Devils Triangle. Those were all lies, and Flake said if he lied he's done. Beat it into his head he definitely lied.
  18. I agree. There is no way he can say no when ultimately, this investigation comes up with a bunch of " I don't remembers".
  19. I would feel a lot better about it if the FBI was actually able to ask Kavanaugh about all the lies during his testimony, but like yesterday's news, that will go away quickly. My wife is an attorney from DC. Her ex was an Assistant US attorney many years ago. She seems to know how this stuff works, and she was questioning why anyone would be excited about this investigation back when it was first announced. It's all Trump, and won't come to anything. Buying time for something else is all it will accomplish.
  20. I don't see how Flake can vote no if he said he was going to vote yes, but then they did what he requested and opened up a phony investigation. He is pretty much a lock for yes unless someone else comes forward. Collins and Murkowski, who knows, but Collins seems to buy Kavanaugh won't overturn Roe vs. Wade so it will be easy for her since now she can say, well the FBI didn't find anything...Murkowski the same way. It is going to take a miracle for him not to be confirmed IMO. They don't want the truth confirmed because they already know what the truth is.
  21. The chances of either are pretty slim IMO. I guess I am sick about hanging "good players" hats on guys like Yolmer Sanchez. I am sure he's a great guy and teammate, but he has no power, doesn't get on base very often, and strikes out like Dave Kingman. Yet he is a guy we actually like because comparatively he does look pretty good. Guys like him get you where the Sox were before they decided just sucking wasn't enough. We think there may be something there with Matt Davidson, who seems to have his whole game based on power and only hit 5 homers at Guaranteed Rate Field this year, and had a .602 OPS vs. good teams (over .500). We have Eloy, we need more to be legitimately excited about.
  22. I've seen posts backing up the window to contend a season, even two, based on his injury. So what if he doesn't come back? Are the White Sox screwed? If Palka or Narvaez become useful, that's a bonus, but guys like Giolito and Lopez and Cease and Moncada and Robert, at least a few of these guys, need to be what we hoped they can be. We already have Eloy in the HOF, so if he gets hurt or struggles initially, watch out.
  23. The team blew when they "were going for it". Having the same people run the rebuild that ran that being questioned is legitimate. If this entire rebuild is dependent on Michael Kopech, a guy who was throwing a lighter baseball 110 MPH in the offseason a year and a half ago, being healthy, it needs a new architect. Maybe not the JR is cheap he is raking in all this money argument, but there is a legit question as to how this team is being run, from the front office to the coaching staff.
  24. This was the problem. Trump was running the investigation. We all know the Republicans are hiding things. The only thing this fake investigation does is buy time for something else to come out. But they aren't going to investigate anything that will put this guy in a bad light.
  25. I don't have a problem with JR , I do think he gives way too long a leash to some, particularly KW and RH, but using your argument, fans of teams for sale should be excited if Jeffrey Loria were to be interested. He has a title under his name. You own a team for 38 seasons, you should expect a title or two.
