  1. How would a 36 year old calendar refute anything? There are plenty of places he went that weren’t listed on his calendar. Church for one.
  2. There are no such statements. The only one saying it didn’t happen is the proven liar. Her friend doesn’t remember, Judge says he doesn’t remember, and they were letters from attorneys not the sworn affidavits subject to perjury Kavanaugh said, they were. i would think someone expecting one party to have all the facts perfectly lined up from a trauma 36 years ago, would have his from this week
  3. Because it has become a trend and benefits the player. Why would anyone think opt outs won’t be required to sign any of these guys? it just takes one team to offer one. The only way you will be able to avoid one is if you outbid everyone by a rather large amount. For me it would depend on exactly when the opt out or outs occurred. If it was 4 or 5 years down the line, take your chances. 2 years, 3 years, that is pretty tough. You would also need to study what would potentially be available the years they can opt out, as the money could be re directed. Who knows. One thing Machado won’t have is the QO. So you save a draft pick signing him. I don’t think the Sox will sign him, but they say Castillo is tight with him. Another guy who knows him from Miami is Ozzie. As much controversy as there has been with Ozzie, he still loves the White Sox. It would shock me, but I think the chances are a lot farther away from zero than normal.
  4. There is some evidence. She passed a polygraph which seemed to be good enough for Kavanaugh when he was writing opinions. She told friends and therapists well before he was considered for the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh has lied about his drinking. Lied about the meanings of phrases in his yearbook. Why? The problem with this investigation is the public is only going to see what Trump wants us to see. So if anything comes up, the nomination will be quietly withdrawn. I really am interested in seeing results of the testing of his calendar. Supposedly they can determine how old the ink is on each entry. If he fucked with that anytime since 1982; that may be a problem for him if it ever got out. i do think nothing will come of it because while they are conducting an investigation, it is partisan investigation. I think the level it would have to get to in a week for Trump to pull him isn’t really possible. But I believe the woman. I know for a fact Kavanaugh lied about other things during his testimony. If he were running for Mayor of Oswego, I might let it slide. But not the Supreme Court, especially when he shows such disgust with democrats. A clip was shown yesterday during his confirmation for his current job. He stressed how important it was for a judge to remain independent. Clearly what comes out of his mouth and what really happens are 2 different things. if he is lying about the small stuff, believing him about the big stuff just because he votes for Republicans is pretty foolish IMO.
  5. The one huge problem you have signing what you believe to be long term pieces in free agency is opt outs. All the big guys get them now. So what seems to be a long term piece might be gone in a couple of years. Harper, Machado, Arenado....will all have opt outs and maybe even several each. So, I don’t know how they can be considered long term pieces.
  6. It is too bad the Sox came back and won that game vs. Cleveland the other night. There could have actually been 2 games ofWhite Sox baseball every White Sox fan hoped they would win.
  7. The big problem is Trump will probably be running the investigation.
  8. And it more than likely prevents him from being indicted.
  9. I wonder what would happen if the FBI came back and said they couldn't determine the allegations against him but found his testimony less than truthful. I am guessing he would be confirmed since he has been lying to them since 2004.
  10. I set that up for you. Would his response to the Senators be considered another lie?
  11. It seems to be confirmed Murkowski and Collins are with Flake, so FBI investigation or bust. Will Trump ask for one? Will he just say, let's try someone else, or will Bart O'Kavanaugh be caught in yet another lie and withdraw? One thing he did make sure to say yesterday was polygraph tests were unreliable.
  12. Trump is the latest to call Dr. Ford compelling. If she is so compelling, why don't you believe her? That is having your cake and eating it too, as well. And he isn't the only one. Saying yes to Kavanaugh is saying you aren't buying what Dr. Ford said. So not compelling.
  13. Collins is probably the same. Unless they find something really bad, really quickly, nothing will come of it, but hopefully the other accusers are heard as well. At least if we squint our eyes really hard, will have more to go on than, anyone who has ever known me knows I wouldn't do that. Everyone has done something that would shock some that know them. And the only thing that shocked many who knew Kavanaugh at that time was how many falsehoods he told yesterday.
  14. I am pretty sure they don't have the votes without the investigation. Flake isn't just speaking for himself IMO.
  15. To quote Donald Trump Jr. ...I love it. No way he thought this would ever happen. F Chances are even with an FBI investigation nothing will change. At least there will appear to be some effort.
  16. If yesterday showed anything, we certainly haven't evolved since 1991. There are 9 justices on the Supreme Court. They get lifetime appointments. There are far more fit conservative candidates that could do that job. But instead, we get the judicial Trump. Sexual, financial, lies, just like the guy who nominated him to assure he won't be indicted. I would guess you think Addison Russell's ex wife is BSing too since she didn't come forward right away and he is denying everything.
  17. So if Kavanaugh didn't do it, why did he lie about so many other things? It's not uncommon for women not to report it.
  18. Considering the crime of which he is being accused occurred as a teenager and his alleged victim portrayed him as intoxicated, being a teenage drunk is very significant, and lying about it speaks volumes.
  19. Lying is lying. He lied about a lot more. If he gave the real answer to boof, devils triangle FFFFFFourth of July, it would be on record. The fact is if lying is OK if it's about being a teenage drunk, then I guess sexual assault during that same time period of your life is OK too. The fact is, he wasn't the choirboy he claims. He drank a lot. He boasted a lot. The woman in question passed a lie detector and was more than convincing. In fact, several attorneys said she was about as good of a witness as you can put in that spot. They hid Judge. They don't want these others lying under oath.
  20. I just find it odd that lying to the FBI is a crime, and ALL of his accusers want an FBI investigation, yet he and the republicans do not. You acknowledge you think he lied yesterday. He was under oath. Shouldn't that alone DQ him? Bill Clinton got impeached for lying about an affair under oath.
  21. I don't think they could have offered Collins and Murkowski enough for their votes if it was determined he was a liar. It is really weird to me. So many people know he blatantly lied yesterday. That should be all over the news. Lying under oath has become acceptable for a Supreme Court nominee if it is only 99.99999% likely he was lying through his teeth.
  22. This is how I look at it. Get a bulldog who knew what they were doing asking him pointed questions, and his lies or non answers would be exposed. It wouldn't change 47 or 48 votes, but it would have changed enough.
  23. I think a prosecutor would have caught him in a lie and not let him off the hook, and then they would have no choice but to drop the nomination. He did sound like a spoiled 6 year old yesterday when asked any question.
