If pitching well now is so important, why shouldn't fans be freaked out by Gio and Fulmer? All of these guys have enough stuff to be really good, but command and control seem to be an issue with all. It obviously isn't that uncommon or guys that throw 100 would never be available for next to nothing. Coop needs to fix them, or at least one of them. I think throwing strikes is probably going to be an issue with the other big name prospects as well, when it' their time.

I watched Gonzo yesterday and they were evaluating the Q/Eloy swap. He basically said the Sox win the trade if Eloy can stay on the field. Eloy, Moncada, Robert...all seem to get dinged up a lot. I agree with this. Just like it's laughable that it would leak out Hahn always wanted to rebuild but was overruled by KW and JR. If it was true, it being leaked would not be considered very loyal, and RH would be looking elsewhere. I It's time people just realize RH, JR and KW are in agreement.

It wasn't for lack of effort. The Cubs were in some tough financial times. Ricketts was leveraged to the hilt. The Sun Times beat guy said the bank wanted him to sell the team. He did sell a non controlling portion and got his house back in order. I would also think a team 31-31 winning 102 games two years in a row would be really rare. I always get a kick out of it though. When the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the ALCS in 2004 after trailing 3-0, the deal was they were right where they wanted to be against the White Sox down 2-0. The White Sox can't compete this year.
