This really sucks.

Maybe if you thought he could turn it around and he had some control. He is a free agent at the end of the season, so he won’t be flipped for anything, and all you get if you can fix him is the opportunity to pay him this season. Plus, his character is an issue. Easy pass.

My point being, if you want Machado or Harper, you are going to have to live with an opt out. Theirs may be a different case since they are a little younger than the average free agent, but no matter what, some team is going to make each one of them a crazy offer, opt out and all. The White Sox have done a few things the last couple of years they have never done before. But signing perhaps the top free agent on the market and including an opt out....they were ahead of their time. But this is a bit different. I don't think anyone should really count on Machado or Harper being a White Sox, and the red flags are starting to blossom for Donaldson.

So Rudy knows it's a witch hunt better than anybody, but he's new to the process and isn't up to snuff with the facts yet. I wonder if the stable genius realized he contradicted himself within 2 seconds.

Palka reminds me a bit of Dan Pasqua. The White Sox HRs last night were not cheap.

The 3prisomers supposedly being released by N Korea Trump popped off Obama tried to get released but failed....2 of them weren’t detained until Trump was President. More lies.

His bat has been under the radar bad as,well. Hopefully some playing time will fix it because he is looking like rebuild filler. -

Upper deck closed. Maybe 5k in the house. Rain starts as Sox take the field -
There will be thousands upon thousands who were not able to get in. Of course, they never made an effort, but that's beside the point.

So while yes, an opt out is great for the player, it doesn't hurt the team too much if you think about it. For them to opt out, they will have had to play well, and then, if you let them walk, you aren't paying for what could and should be declining years and can re-allocate the funds. Trading expensive guys doesn't yield the greatest returns anymore. It worked out well for the White Sox and Albert Belle. It would have worked out fine for the Yankees with ARod had they let him walk. I think with most guys that opt out, the team that lets him walk wind up really happy about it. The fact is now, if you are serious about signing one of these guys, you are going to have to give him one., especially these guys who are going to sign for more than 5 years. If you don't want to, stick with signing Adam LaRoche.

They should take the best player, and not worry about position. I have yet to see a team have too many good players. Who knows what Moncada and Anderson will look like when Madrigal is ready. I certainly hope if they don't draft him that the reason is they think they guy they drafted is a better player, not based on position.

Trump's tweets this morning about the Stormy Daniels payments don't seem like they were written by him.

That is Buerhle at the Sox/Cards game sucking back a Busch tallboy. Fame and fortune did not change him.

A. If he isn't ready, it could really stunt his growth. B. Service time. Why burn control now in meaningless games they are going to lose anyways, when you can trade that for when the team should be good ? I agree, the team sucks, and outside of watching Moncada, and Abreu bat, and Lopez pitch, it's already becoming very hard to watch. But patience now is key. They picked a lane. Changing now and calling guys up prematurely would almost certainly blow up in their face. We all just have to take it now, and hope it pays off next season or the season after.

Kids involved, you have to bite your tongue. I would imagine that is why the BIL is being a bit patient.

It also makes sense since he had a little issue with it a few days ago. Seems the injuries of the year are hamstrings, obliques and thumbs. -

If someone is going to get hurt running hard to first, you are only delaying the inevitable. They have to play hard at some point or they have no shot of being a star. -
Moncada currently has the highest WAR in Chicago.

The full tank rebuild is en vogue now due to the Cubs and Astros, but due to how many teams are doing it, many will fail, and the trend will swing the other way eventually.
-
I just don't know how anyone can assume if it was padded, he would not have been injured. Maybe that has nothing to do with it.

Trump said it was disgraceful Mueller's questions were leaked. His legal team leaked the questions.

Mike Caruso. Slappy as the Boy Wonder called him. Perhaps the most baseball clueless SS of all time.
