Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”
Dick Allen replied to Chick Mercedes's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The schedule makers and the umpires have conspired to make the White Sox seem like they awful, when, in fact, it’s just a tough stretch every team goes through. He should be a politician. i have the feeling that one year ago John Schriffen couldn’t name 8 players that spent the majority of their career with the White Sox. -
“I feel fortunate that I work for an owner like Jerry,” Grifol said Wednesday before a 3-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Guaranteed Rate Field. “I just think that he’s been in this game for 44-45 years, and he’s a baseball guy. I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to work for him and wear this uniform with them. So I’m grateful to be here.”

Ramos optioned to AAA, corresponding move before Friday's game

Robert is the obvious call. I wonder which OF sits. -
I'd personally go with Jirschelle. Let him make some mistakes, and have some growing pains. Make sure he isn't Pedro Jr. when the team has the horses to win.

I don't expect it to happen, but......

The White Sox are farther from getting out of last place than any other AL team is of first place. Pedro Grifol era? Just flush it. -
Listening to Schriffen, Pedro is great, most of the players are studs. It's amazing they ever lose, let alone almost every night.
-
Fucking flat
-
For some reason, I think if the Sox go meekly into the night and become the first White Sox team ever to get swept an entire homestead of at least 7 games, Pedro is gone. 99% chance I'm wrong, but it just feels right.
-
I'll take anyone. It's the time to see if they can develop into something when the team is actually ready to win. JR didn't want to waste time. Pedro in the dugout is a huge waste of time.
-
Sox will try to avoid being swept for the 9th time of the season tonight. Last year, they were swept 8 times and lost 101 games. This year it didn't even take to Memorial Day to get to 8. Can't waste a year.
-
His brown nosing has no limits. A good evaluator of talent? $181 million payroll lost 101 games. Highest payroll in the division 15-41 and have pretty much clinched last place in May.
-
It’s hard to fathom who else in the world would think Chris Getz as the GM and Pedro Grifol as a manager is a good idea. I predicted the Sox to win 68 games this year, and I am an idiot, They would have to go 53-53 the rest of the way to do that.
-
I still find it funny some are still blaming at least some of the woes on injuries. The Sox probably don’t sign Pham if the 3 don’t get hurt, and he’s been their best player. And the team is going to pay $8 million for Moncada and ILoy to go away once this season ends.
-
Obviously the Sox knew Clevinger had an issue. I don’t know their fascination with Peralta, but maybe they think no one will claim him, or maybe Getz was just bored that day.
-
You want to be entertained watching a Sox game? There are a few on youtube with Harry and Jimmy. Just classic. Ripping all the bad, stupid plays.
-
They have 1 qualified hitter with an OPS over .600.
-
If Fedde performs well and is traded, and Crochet hits an innings limit, what are the last 2 months going to look like?
-
I understand what you are writing, but I don’t believe ANYONE ripping Pedro constantly, which includes me, doesn’t think the Sox would be awful no matter who managed them. This team has made the same mistakes over and over for 217 games. He cannot manage. And he is afraid of veterans. Finally popped off and said what he should have said in April 2023. And what happens? He benches the 2 rookies. And if you think I am playing Monday morning QB, check this site. I called it way before any of us had a line up. And they get 1 run today. Someone has to go. 15-40 with 10 as high as you can draft should be unacceptable. For some reason it isn’t.
-
Why was Maldonado hitting in the 7th? Pedro must have like his afkustments.
-
He didn't do anything but go hitless like the rest of the Sox starting line up. Pedro, per usual just takes it out on rookies.
