Sox at Guards Jo Noah was right about Cleveland game thread 7/2
If it goes extras, Maldonado is the ghost runner.

Tim Anderson DFA'd by Marlins
Javy Baez had a similar drop off but he waited until he was guaranteed 9 figures.

DeRozan is screwed. Almost impossible for him to be involved in a sign and trade for what he wants. He's going to have to sign really cheap for a season, and then he may finally get old.

Tim Anderson DFA'd by Marlins
The legs obviously hurt him the last couple of years, but he did have one AB earlier this season where is sprint speed to first was like off the charts. I watched a clip of it and the announcer said TA can still really fly when he wants to. I remember thinking, if his legs feel good, he should be OK. I think he has some back issues now as well.

Pretty incredible downfall. That's 2 teams paying him this season, not to play for them.

Guess Trade Values of Sox Starters
Pitchers get hurt. Some of these guys will bust. Hopefully most of them develop into guys that help you win. It would be nice to tune into a games again and expect victory on a regular basis.

6/30 Sox vs. Rocks 1:10 PM
When you listen to the broadcast, you are told every White Sox player is a huge stud. It's amazing they ever lose. Schriffen actually said he thought they still had a chance to get in the race yesterday. Love the enthusiasm, hate the BS. It's almost offensive.

The baseball gods really don’t want to hear Southside, staaaand up today.

6/30 Sox vs. Rocks 1:10 PM
I can’t see that but maybe. It also set up a force at second which could have made things easier for the defense.

That was seconds after saying he thought the Sox still had a chance this year.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
According to Bob, the White Sox did have extension talks with Crochet that didn’t go very far, and they will trade him by the deadline.

Official NBA 22-23
I would have PI s look into it, and see if he just got off or he truly was innocent, and if it’s the latter, if I’m the Bulls Terence Shannon Jr, is my pick. I hate the Illini but he was the college LeBron.i

Shut Out Counter
He still isn't anything for than a defensive replacement on a good team. He's a poor man's Yolmer Sanchez.

Latest attendance check...
Why is tonight a sellout?

Shut Out Counter
Saving grace? They are 21-60. Are you John Schriffen? I was just thinking the other day if Getz somehow is able to pawn Lopez off on someone, The Schriff might hand them the WS trophy and tell us how great Nicky is with the glove, and how he works ABs. A true star.

6/25/2024 - Chicago Second Citys vs. Los Angeles Groundlings - Flexen v. Miller - 7:10pm
That's really cool, although sad he wasn't able to see his grandson play in the major leagues.

LaRussa speaks...
If he would have been hired by the Mariners and not the stacked A's, he would have been just another guy. Those A's teams were loaded. Once they weren't, he was able to live off it and go to St.Louis. Hawk firing him got him to the HOF. If they waited a year or a month even, someone else gets the Oakland job.

he was a problem, and continues to be...He destroyed the D Backs. Same thing is happening here, the problem is we have an owner that can't really change things. Tony should retire, and drink wine in his patio. I can tell you, I wanted Tony fired 40 years ago. Fans were not unhappy when Hawk pulled the trigger.

Seems he's still part of the problem. If you don’t like how we’re running the bases, or taking at-bats or making good pitches and plays you can point the finger at me for having a relevance to that.”

The one thing JR could do, and it wouldn't cost him any money with the IRS, is give up his control. It ain't working. Time for new blood, and a new way to do business.
