I have had good bosses and bad bosses - just cause I worked for some bad bosses, doesn’t mean I am not very good at what I do and I’ll also say I have learned just as much in my career from shitty bosses as good ones, so maybe Getz has seen how bad it is here and has connections and tied and immediately starts making good changes.
Note: in zero way am I defending the hire - I would have done spend 2-3 weeks interviewing and getting insights. Maybe Getz is the best after that but spend 2 weeks to gain viewpoints and than hire Getz if that is what you do.
Working for fools doesn't make him a fool but he has shown nothing to lead us to believe he is not a fool.
He needed to tell the world why he was the right choice. I have yet to see him tell me anything anyone that worked for the White Sox and was somewhat educated could state thus far.
He is going to be as epic a failure as anyone in that bird brained organization.

Burger was 2/3 HR,(31) single, HBP in Miami's 6-3 win tonight. 4th HR since Friday. The only thing the Burger doubters can cling to now to say it was an even or good trade is the hope his current hot streak isn't indicative of permanent results.
However he's hit for average and power and basically played like one of the best players in baseball since the trade.
The amazing thing about people that crap on him is how clueless they are. The guy was was high draft pick that suffered injuries. This is not a guy that unexpectedly figured something out.

Can't wait for any young player with an ounce of talent to be traded for Salvy Perez and Jameson Talllion this offseason.

I just saw the score. Not certain I'd consider myself a fan at this point. This is rock bottom and I've been a fan for over 40 years. Zero interest in these losers.

If he were given the title of President of Baseball OPS, you could then hire a GM from somewhere and inflate the title to get another smart person in the org. Can't they in future hire a GM and remove that role from Senior VP?

My take on this and I need to keep on the rose colored glasses to keep my sanity.
KW never invested in player development. I'm not sure what Hahn ever knew about anything related to any aspect of life. He is the epitome of word salad.
That being said, the brand of baseball the Royals played while Getz was there was solid and got them to two WS.
He obviously has done nothing beneficial here but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. hopefully there is a solid model that he pitched to JR. Whatever he told JR he got him to fire two life long employees that were not even given the opportunity to depart on their own terms.
You know those internal interviews JR was having, Getz nailed his for sure.
The press conference needs to be two hours long and it needs to ask pertinent questions to appease the fans and the media. He needs to explain how he got the job and why he failed.
He needs to address the player development, analytics and this horse s%*# offense.
My guess it will be 30 minutes of bullshit answering nothing.

Everyone tries to schedule patsy. You need two to tango. I think Rice's new AD and HC don't have the connections at programs to come to an agreement.
The conference schedule controls week 3-9 and home and away. Next year if Maine South and Marist are two year agreements. They could have 4 straight at home. Depends on how things play out.
BR is a nice team but other then the JR LB I don't think they have real major talent but are a solid club.

Evans was Hahn pre-Hahn. Didn't want to play second fiddle to KW and left. Seems to have never really recovered and succeed like many other White Sox folks that find greener pastures.
I recalled thinking I wanted him over KW.

The Sox would be best served in the west loop, that area is as good if not better then Lakeview or in a makeover of the Loop but then traffic would be an issue in the actual Loop.
Baseball traffic is 15-50% of that of football so Soldier Field could be an option then ISBE builds Soldier Field on 35th and the Ryan.

The f'd up thing is other then Grandal this is the currently chosen core from day 1 of this season. Sure maybe Andrus was going to be become something he wasn't but in essence this is the lineup that you could have imagined for this season.
And they suck, all of them, except Robert.
I think this is what is killing me this season.

The most spectacular stat of the Rick Hahn era is that the longest winning streak was 7 games and it happened once.
The 0 and whatever when striking out 14+ batters is another example of how poorly constructed his rosters were.
I don't care if he had free reign or not he was abysmal.

I have been harping on this point for a while.
Moving Benentendi out of lineup spot and now going with multiple innings and consecutive days with relievers shows Grifol and Katz really are idiots.
The fact they cannot bring any bullpen arm that is serviceable should get Getz fired.
Grifol lost this team in April, if he ever had it.

My stance on the White Sox is that they have a fixed budget and can do with it as they wish but are beholden to JR at he end of the day on major decisions.
It is the mindset of KW and Hahn to spend their budget foolishly. I can't see JR being against building up a scouting and development department and losing out on the overpaid free agent. This feels like the JR model he has spoke about recently and would like. The Tampa and Baltimore models are what he wants.
Hopefully he finds a baseball mind that sees it this way as well.

I don't buy the Rick Hahn resigning stuff. Did this start after TLR was hired or was this before when KW was stepping on him for the 9 years prior. If this was over the last two years, I give JR credit, Hahn made this mess and in the end both he and KW were held accountable. If Hahn resigns after last year he can blame it on TLR and moves he was not allowed to make and 2020 and 2021 were just the beginning.
After this season he isn't getting a GM job again any time soon and may not get a job in baseball at all.
Why didn't either resign or agree to resign at the end of this season when they could leave gracefully. They are both fired rather publicly in the dog days of summer when the baseball news cycle can use a little heat.
This doesn't add up. If KW is the man in charge why isn't he just pushed aside then Hahn can take over? If Hahn wanted a another job why not look for one and not hang around answering to KW for 12 years.
They were both fired mid season after all of the years together. I would have thought KW would have at least gotten the John Paxson treatment or retired.

It's becoming rather amazing how bad and also how good some of these guys ae. I get missing a strike at an innocuous time but to end the game.
