NFL 2021 offseason thread
Then go with Mitch as your guy until Dalton becomes available. It was not like it was breaking news he would be released from Cincinnati They failed on the Foles evaluation and then overpaid dearly, in draft pick and cash, for a smoking pile of crap.

NFL 2021 offseason thread
They were talking on the radio about this and pointed out the Seattle defense was better than the Bears and Seattle had no interest in taking on any of the Bears players. Smith will get expensive, Johnson has a history of not being able to stay on the field and Hicks and Mack don't interest teams at their salaries. The Bears dumped draft picks and money on their defense and now wonder why their offense stinks. As great as Roquan Smith is, he does not move the needle like an edge rusher, OT or skill player. The bears can try and move Fuller but at that price tag they are not getting back more than a mid round pick and cap relief that will be used to sign a lesstalented player than Fuller.

A Giolito extension eases the JR cheapness narrative as long a Lynn is locked up as well.

This may be how the innings are controlled this year with these guys.

So when does Madrigal not have enough time in to be ready for the season. I was a big fan but am now sliding over to questioning his durability and size to be an every day major league player.

Tax Questions
I use that as well and just save it in the cloud. About to start the prep and with a 20 year old college student I need to look at claiming him or not. Does not claiming him open up and funding for student loans or grants for him?

Barf Lineup Day - Game Thread
Why is it "reward" the guy was the #11 pick in the draft and by all accounts proving his worth then blew his Achilles twice worked his ass off and is now healthier than he was before the injury. Why can't he be the prospect he once was, he is not that old. It wasn't like he was a lottery ticket from day one that is now looked at to be the savior.

Spring Training thread
Waiting is easier said than done. They offered him a fair contract, he turned it down and it cost both of them. The odd thing about him is why the Dodgers didn't push more to keep him as he was cheap and they had no budget it looks like.

Coop on 670 The Score at 5:00 PM CT
He didn't that was why the pitchers and eventually the team sought help elsewhere. He is the epitome of time passing you by. He was great at one time. Also it seems nobody is calling him up for assistance with anything. That should tell you something.

Cubs 2021
If I am Jed I would be hoping to leverage Theo's knowledge to assist in finding a direction over his last year. I think Theo is a great baseball mind but I also think he was able to accomplish things because he had a $200M budget. Think about Hahn with Bauer and Machado. I think GM's become too itchy to acquire proven guys and deplete the farm system for immediate rewards and it does not pay off enough.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
As an FYI Greg, your former high school offered the vaccine to all faculty and staff through SXU. They also have done a pretty amazing job with their COVID educational plan. It does seem that basketball is going well and I think football is excited about their 6 game schedule although the #1 back is out with an injury and baseball will be top 5 if not #1 in the state. They have two potential guys that could be talked about rather highly in the 2023 and 2024 drafts.

Unrelated to this but I wanted to put this somewhere and it gets to grreg's post. I have a relative that believes that all organ donations are illegally harvested. She is a complete whacko in my mind. Anti vaxxer, believes masks are killing us etc. The stupidity of functioning members of society is becoming rather alarming to me.

Andrew Vaughn Hype Thread
You may think that the Sox are the cheapest organization in the history of professional sports but they have not played the service time game. They brought up Kopech when they had zero reason to. I am not certain how Crochet works with his limited time but if that clock is ticking there is another one. I think they sign him long term once things normalize....then I think they look at Lynn and Gio.

TLR publicity train
Young players have the ability to get better and the White Sox are counting on that. Your point would be valid if there was no talent to come up. The Padres did not want to rely on youth so they got some veteran pitchers.

The White Sox did this with Kopech when they really should not have. Kopech at this point in time should have zero service time.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Sadly I know too many GOP folks that are not getting the vaccine. The fact politics in this country has come to this is scary. The 54 year far left lady that works for me got vaccinated because she had to walk down the hall and it was free other than that she was going to opt out for no good reason. Insanity

Got my first shot today. There was something eerie about it and I do not mean in a political anti-vaxxer sense but more of the thought of maybe realizing I may have avoided this for all this time and there is an end in site.
