White Sox were expected to sign Juan Soto
Harry Chappas replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
if they have Tatis and Soto in the pipeline they probably dont pay for Robert. -
Because it is the most important defensive position on the field especially with all of metrics that are now available. To keep two back ups neither of which are strong defensive catchers makes no sense to me. Especially when neither has proven they can hit major league pitching so we may have two guys that can neither hi9t or catch. I was all for Collins getting a shot but keeping three and having two that are questions marks seems like a bad idea, especially when you consider if Grandel goes down the defense there goes down the drain.

Lamb is the depth everyone was pining for all offseason.

Maybe Yermin doesn't make the team after all.

Vaughan has been playing baseball for most of his life so he will be comfortable out there. LF is not that hard to play. All he needs to do is catch fly balls. He does not need to be Alex Gordon out there. Eloy had some speed but he was a butcher out there and then acted like a clown which finally cost him a season. I think there is no way he can play the field ever again. He is incredibly injury prone and literally cannot get out of his own way. Vaughan will be comparable to Schwarber out there which is fine and may be better for the White Sox in the long run.

I wonder if the Cardinals board pisses, moans and complains that the cheap ass White Sox outbid them for Robert and Abreu. -
Grabbed shot number two today opener tickets yesterday.....other then the Eloy news not a bad two days. Now to make it through Fantasy draft tomorrow.

Then go with Mitch as your guy until Dalton becomes available. It was not like it was breaking news he would be released from Cincinnati They failed on the Foles evaluation and then overpaid dearly, in draft pick and cash, for a smoking pile of crap. -
I never knew of that connection. Wag's was pretty good.

They were talking on the radio about this and pointed out the Seattle defense was better than the Bears and Seattle had no interest in taking on any of the Bears players. Smith will get expensive, Johnson has a history of not being able to stay on the field and Hicks and Mack don't interest teams at their salaries. The Bears dumped draft picks and money on their defense and now wonder why their offense stinks. As great as Roquan Smith is, he does not move the needle like an edge rusher, OT or skill player. The bears can try and move Fuller but at that price tag they are not getting back more than a mid round pick and cap relief that will be used to sign a lesstalented player than Fuller. -
A Giolito extension eases the JR cheapness narrative as long a Lynn is locked up as well.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good hot take.

This may be how the innings are controlled this year with these guys. -

So when does Madrigal not have enough time in to be ready for the season. I was a big fan but am now sliding over to questioning his durability and size to be an every day major league player. -
I use that as well and just save it in the cloud. About to start the prep and with a 20 year old college student I need to look at claiming him or not. Does not claiming him open up and funding for student loans or grants for him?

Why is it "reward" the guy was the #11 pick in the draft and by all accounts proving his worth then blew his Achilles twice worked his ass off and is now healthier than he was before the injury. Why can't he be the prospect he once was, he is not that old. It wasn't like he was a lottery ticket from day one that is now looked at to be the savior. -
Waiting is easier said than done. They offered him a fair contract, he turned it down and it cost both of them. The odd thing about him is why the Dodgers didn't push more to keep him as he was cheap and they had no budget it looks like.
-
He didn't that was why the pitchers and eventually the team sought help elsewhere. He is the epitome of time passing you by. He was great at one time. Also it seems nobody is calling him up for assistance with anything. That should tell you something.

If I am Jed I would be hoping to leverage Theo's knowledge to assist in finding a direction over his last year. I think Theo is a great baseball mind but I also think he was able to accomplish things because he had a $200M budget. Think about Hahn with Bauer and Machado. I think GM's become too itchy to acquire proven guys and deplete the farm system for immediate rewards and it does not pay off enough.

I will sit in the worst seat in the house for $200.
