Marshall Needs To Be Sent Down
The issue as I posted in the game thread is that Crochet and Kopech seem to be on some set calendar and as such are unavailable on certain days. Ruiz was viewed as the mop up man. This shortens the bullpen greatly.

The TLR Manager Thread
Vaughn hadn't hit above A ball and he seems to be gradually getting better. His defense has not been an issue. How is it that Vaughn supposedly worked in the outfield last summer but never did it in the spring until it became an emergency. Vaughn is the LF until further notice. He may not be athletic as Eloy but he doesn't make a fool of himself. Now Mendick is now a RF. This is nice switch of things and hopefully it will work as I think Mendick brings some tools this team needs. The brand of baseball we are now seeing and handling of players seems to be improving. Maybe the staff was just looking to make certain of these things but what I am seeing from the White Sox, I have not seen in a long time. I go back to Collins in Yermin not having a role when the team was going nowhere but yet with a new manager they are now being relied upon. The White Sox lost two focal point hitters and they are fine. I recall the corspeball days where Mike Minor would throw a three hitter. Are these changes a new organizational philosophy or did LaRussa and his staff push for it? I don't know but over the last few weeks this team is very watchable and I am ok with that. DID these changes happen because COVID lowered the budget forcing Yermin and Vaughn onto the team...who knows.

Which I agree 1000% with but at he same time the players that were been benched were unproven and being eased in. If Vaughn had gone 0-35 and made 20 errors in left field people would be pining for Hamilton. Tim Anderson was not being benched over Leury, nor Robert. Players were being platooned to ease them in and it seems to be working. Pitching has been great but reliable guys have failed and that has exasperated the situation.

And that has tempered off. They went from a team that could not get past Yonder, Jon Jay and Edwin Encarnacion to moving past guys that suck. Maybe not soon enough but he has a roster that he is still learning and is trying to use it. He is giving younger players opportunities. Opportunities that were not given in previous years when the team sucked. He is moving guys in the lineup, something that was not done previously. Nobody knows if he is doing anything but some of the sloopy play has been cleaned up and they are pointing in the right direction as a team as of today. This team gave away bats often, never worked counts and gave two shits about OBP. I have felt that the White Sox approach to hitting for years has been abysmal and there seems to be a change there. Maybe LaRussa or maybe year 2 of the hitting coach. I'm seeing a guy that is figuring his team out and managing who can do what. Seems the Giants aren't missing Bochy and the AJ Hinch is not a miracle worker. Could both have the White Sox in a better place.....maybe but I am ok where they are now. I like professional hitting, good pitching and solid defense and they seem to be building toward having all of that.

I give him credit for going with Vaughn and Mendick in the outfield. Cutting Lucroy was an eye opener as well. I hated the excessive usage of Williams, Lamb, Hamilton etc. but that seems to have now gone away. We should have seen more from Yermin and Collins the last couple of years. We can also look at Vaughn and Madrigal learning at the MLB level as a different approach. There are good things and bad things happening. We know the direct relation of bad moves that TLR admitted to but how much of the positive items are a result of him? Are they winning in spite of him, I am not certain.

Was at Greenbush yesterday. Great place. I love craft beer but I am a lush so I need to stick to session ales. Some day I will grow up,
