  1. QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) If we are going to compete this year we need another right coming out of the pen... Linebrink has seemingly forgot how to pitch! Wow did Guillen get afraid of being praised? Sadly Dotel and now Carassco are now better options. I pointed out yesterday that Linebrink is the fourth best pitching coming out of the pen. He may seriously be the sixth.
  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:27 PM) Where the hell is Thornoton? That has been the question for the last two weeks.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:24 PM) Glad a couple of my boys are having games....Getzy/Becks/Floyd. Getzy is offsetting the good with the bad.
  4. Linebrink unable to put anyone away this almost got him in trouble yesterday as well.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:21 PM) I like saving him for the higher leverage situations. Which would not exist if Thorton started the inning.
  6. Linebrink lost two games last week and blew two shut out opportunites in the last three games. I am losing faith in him.
  7. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:15 PM) Thome was announced as a pinch hitter and the Cubs went to the bullpen to bring in a lefty, so Guillen brought Fields to the plate and now he walked. That is a real good move by Guillen there and something I think he should do more. Is it just me or does Guillen just not like to manage in the A.L?
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) Just take that slider to right Beckham Your computer is slow. Marmol is a converted catcher that seems to not be able to find the groove he once had. The bottom of this order has got to be killing cub fans. I'd like to see Floyd hit for there with Thome then go Thorton/Dotel and Jenks.
  9. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) I'll give you two reasons: 1. 162 games. 2. No more amphetamines in the clubhouse. You are right on. Ozzeroo with a real tough decision here. I think if they lost yesterday he goes to his pen but with the win he stays with Floyd. They will have played 5 games in 8 days so all of the starters are pitching and will pitch on extended rest except Danks on Sunday. I don't want to see Linebrink or Dotel.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 02:25 PM) 6-7-8 hitters have been on 5 out of the first 6 times today 1 through 5 are 0-11
  11. Think Guillen will start using his pitchers to bunt the rest of the year like Pinella uses zambrano to pinch hit? I am not joking.
  12. He gets two outs with three pitches and then walks the next two. This is what happened in the Angels game in May. He loses concentration too easily.
  13. Bad call will cost the Sox....
  14. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) Bah, don't wanna lose a guy like that. Let's go take care of Fontenot no 2 out damage Had him look at two fastball strikes and then did not throw another.....ugh....would have been another depressing inning for the cubs there.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 02:07 PM) When will Ozzie learn BA isnt a base stealer? Needs to make him look bad somehow. Bradley having a nice series as well.
  16. cubs have looked at two strikes today. Was Joshua the coach during the incarnation of corpseball or was it Ward?
  17. 6 pitch inning, 31 through 3. Wow. Getting cloudy up here.
  18. I think Z goes deep not sure why.
  19. I look at this game more that they need to have good at-bats, play good defense and Floyd needs to keep them in the game. Say what you will about Zambrano but if he is on, he is as good as there is in baseball.
  20. Danks pitched over that, this is something that Floyd struggles with. Ramirez is really not good at the DP turn.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) It is when there's 2 on in scoring position and pitcher is up next. However, it's just an instinct thing. The good thing is Pods leads off. I think zambrano was more pissed that he didn't get Beckham and then have Floyd lead off.
  22. The bottom of the order is really doing some nice things.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 01:39 PM) Well, at least we're not going to get no hit (and I'm serious, that's a worst case scenario in a game like today with this jackass on the mound). I understand what you are saying. They gotta walk Beckham
  24. Anderson is a much better hitter with nobody on, it is amazing.
  25. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 01:31 PM) If the ump doesn’t call anything on the outside corner this is not going to be a very pleasant night for Gavin Was he giving that to Zambrano? It looked like it on Gamecast? Were all of the balls hit hard and deep as Gamecast said as well? I am about a mile south of the park and the wind is blowing at what would be straight out to left at about 10MPH.
