What it takes to get back into it by the All-Star Break?
Harry Chappas replied to maki's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If they don't blow Sunday's game they would be 3.5 back. 4.5 back and it is not even June 1st. -
QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:50 PM) Wait a minute. Not to nitpick here, but that was Getz that caught that, right? And Nix was coming onto the field after the game, from the dugout. So, let me get this right -- when Getz pinch-ran, Ozzie took out the best 2nd baseman on the team, and left in our crappy 3rd baseman/worst fielder? Cool. That was what set me off. See my post on the previous page about Dotel v. Linebrink. Remember Linebrink hurt himself trying to close while Jenks was out last year. That was a miserable experiment. I know closing had nothing to do with him hurting himself.....at least I do not think it did. They have really outplayed the Angels in this series that should have scored 10 runs again tonight. Nice win....

I am really starting to question the ability of Guillen and Cora to manage a game, put guys in position to succeed, and evaluate their personal. Linebrink can not close Dotel has real bad managing yet again.
-
Fields needs to bat in RBI situations as I think it helps him. Anderson wets the bed in these situations.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:29 PM) Jenks is under the weather. I think I'd rather have Dotel close. I could not agree more. Dotel seems to be tougher the tougher the situation.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:25 PM) Who has been a less productive offensive player this year? Corky Miller? or Chris Young? They really need to get somebody that is at least servicable.
-
QUOTE (Reddy @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:23 PM) a matchup thing? That is what I was thinking. Dotel and Linebrink can both be lights out or get beat depending on the night and team. Maybe Jenks is hurt?
-
QUOTE (Reddy @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) paulie is the best in the biz at the pick He really is underrated at that as there can be none better as he doesn't miss.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:19 PM) That pitch on 3-1 was right down the freaking plate. Guillen or Cooper need to say something.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:16 PM) I wonder if Linebrink is hurt? 2 straight 8th innings he hasn't been used. I understand Sunday as Linebrink threw two innings Saturday and Dotel had not been used. Maybe it is matchup thing as Dotel can overpower guys.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:11 PM) His first 2 out were great swings. The last 2, not so much. The young hitters need more consistency.......I guess that is the epitome of a young hitter. Anderson and Miller are why this game is even a game.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:57 PM) Why is Hawk b****ing about the night game on getaway day? Thursday is an off day. The White Sox don't play home games during the day for every getaway day. He is holding a grudge from a couple of years ago when the Sox had to travel to KC after playing a night game in LA withouthte day off. He really needs to let things go. He complained about it yesterday as well.

Nix has done more in his limited time this year for this team as Fields and Getz have with much more sporadic time both hitting and with varied positions. No reason why he should not get as good a chance as the other two at this point in time except for who was drafted by the organization.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:56 AM) Well it will be interesting to see if the Hawks man up tonight or go home a beaten team. Seeing as they do not play until tomorrow nights activity shouldn't really impact them. -
The Blackhaws are getting this way in regard to the puck drop and celebrity shoot-out.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 26, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) Yeah, it already began. However, Ichiro has made an entire career off that swing so hopefully they forget. Brian Anderson should play every game in center from here until the game ends, and as long as TCQ is out, Pods should be in left. If/when CQ comes back, Pods becomes a very nice backup. Why is eveyone convinced that Pods should be thrown at for using this stance?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 25, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) thanks...relief. Hudler on the Angels broadcast was reading his lips to say "I felt something pop." I thought he was done for the season. Isn't Hudler a moron? -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 25, 2009 -> 10:45 PM) Not as serious as originally thought. He's day to day right now, but many think he'll probably hit the 15 day DL. If Lillibridge is the option to bring up, play short a guy. Has Nix gotten into this game? -

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 25, 2009 -> 10:37 PM) wow thats a heavy payroll to have the likes of Freel, Miles, Fontenot and Theriot. ARe they the same person? Are Hoffpauer, Theriot and Fontenot all over 29? Do they have anyone under 26? Why did the Ice Road Truckers need to add a hot chick? Come on. -
