  1. The Wednesday episode really was bad. I can't stand hte kate role.....her hotness has also worn off and now she is irritating.
  2. Anyone hear Urlacher's thoughts on the trade. WSCR was talking about him pretty negativley as if he is now bitter that he may not be the face of the organization the guy has turned into quite the jerk....but I never heard what he said. Anthony Adams by the way is very entertaining.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 12:03 PM) I honestly dont even like him that much, but if he's called out when he plays bad, I think he should be mentioned when he has a good game. For the money they are paying him good games should be a nightly occurance and not require mentioning. He, Khabbi and Havlat should have positive impacts every night.
  4. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 10:29 PM) Yes, that is right. McDaniels already tried to deal him once and it didn't work, clearly, he has no issues with his team not having Jay Cutler at QB. Bowlen MIGHT be, however, he could have easily said "Look, he is our franchise QB and we aren't trading him" which he DID say, and then look at where we are now. If they really wanted Cutler to be their QB, he would be. Why are you giving McDaniels the benefit of the doubt, what has he ever accomplished? I gotta tell you if I was a Bronco fan right now, I 'd be a tad nervous.
  5. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) Oh really? The Bears traded two firsts and two seconds for Jay Cutler? If forced to I think they may have. They were prepared to decide on possibly losing Briggs or Forte with the two number one's.
  6. QUOTE (rockren @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 10:24 PM) Yeah I never said I liked Sanchez, either. I'd much rather see more than just 16 starts, which is all he's had. However QBs are always way overvalued in drafts and Sanchez has wowed people in workouts lately. I'll call the 49ers to grab him at 10 if he's there. Which is why you do not trade them when they are 25 and in the Pro Bowl.
  7. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 10:20 PM) Exactly, why I think he will be around mid draft. Doesn't mean that's who Denver wants, regardless, they can now get who they want with what they have set themselves up with. And they have Orton now, which is better than being stuck with nothing. Denver isn't going to be as bad as a lot of you think if they fill out that defense in this draft, especially with what you have seen New Englands offensive system do. Isn't Sims on their roster? Hub Arkush said he would start over Orton. Denver's future is riding on Josh McDaniels...how are the Bellichick disciples doing.............I am not sold the brightness of the Denver future. They have set themselves up for failure just as easily as they have for success and have a more questionable future now than they did on the last day of the season. They could be great in three years......they could just as easily suck if the picks do not turn out. Who is the Denver G.M.? Is it McDaniels? If so, I think he is gone in two years.
  8. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) Denver wins because they have the assets to set their team up for a long time. In my mind they lost their two best assets this offseason and have an unproven coach that has already had one major f*** up under his belt.
  9. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 10:11 PM) Well I disagree, considering there is a possibility that Detroit doesn't take Stafford at #1 and the teams in front of Denver, and the fact that Sanchez doesn't have a lot of college experience in terms of playing time I could easily see Sanchez lasting till 12 and maybe even 18 for that matter. Sanchez was not that great of a college quarterback to be a sure thing and to be anyone's "guy". I do not trust USC quarterbacks as they have more weapons than any other college team.
  10. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) Well Denver didn't trade Cutler for a 5th round pick, so your example doesn't really translate to what happened. And you are out of your mind if you think any team would trade two firsts and two seconds for ANYONE in this league. How many players in the NFL would be as valuable to the Bears as Jay Cutler...this may fill a hole that has been with this team for over 60 years. Also Angelo does not like 1st round picks I think they really had no problem making this trade. Some teams value fitrst round picks some do not.
  11. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:58 PM) because Denver Did not want Cutler. They are changing the defense to a 3-4 and McDaniels wants his own guy running the team. They have four first over the next two drafts and an extra third this year for a guy who they didn't want anyways. They are going to be able to set their team up for a real long time over the next two years, once again, all for a guy who they didn't even want. How can you say Denver should have gotten more? What more could they get? Another first? Change the third to a second? No one is going to pay that price. They had to move Cutler, there was no choice in the matter anymore. Bringing your guy in is a lot easier said than done. I bet the Jets offered a better package but they needed to get Cutler out of the AFC. Playing QB in Denver is not a walk in the park especially in December and January.
  12. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:57 PM) Mark Schlereth is a f***ing dumbass. Do yourself a favor turn off ESPN.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) I can't say that about the Broncos. Plus, a year from now, if the Bears struggle, one of the best coaches in NFL history will be a front-runner to take the position (Shanny). Lovie is on a really hot seat right now. The defense better be top 5 or your call is right on the money.
  14. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) So this is what a Cubs message board looks like every spring training! Funny that you are saying that on a Sox board though. This would be like the Sox signing CC this past off season. Jason would still be yelling at neighbors.
  15. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:45 PM) Yeah you're right they don't, and like I said the Bears needed this.. but Denver could easily draft Mark Sanchez this year or wait till next year and if they do suck this year could get a Colt McCoy or Sam Bradford anyways. Either way, Denver isn't in a bad position at all. Denver has to trade him because they pissed him off and he clearly wasn't going to cooperate with them, its not like they just decided hey lets trade Jay Cutler without anything behind it, I still see what you are saying though. I don't think it was more that he wanted a QB to fit what hes doing aside from he just wanted his guy, that didn't happen and that's why Cutler was traded. I would hardly say Denver is in a bad position here regardless of how this season goes for them. If they want a QB, they can get one and have set themselves up pretty good for the future. And once again, not a bad deal for the Bears at all I just feel Denver wins it easily. Its a win win, with one of the wins being just a little more than the other. Those QB's could all turn into Joey Harrington or Ryan Leaf as easily as they could turn into Jay Cutler. I'll take Jay Cutler over all of them.
  16. Sports talk radio in Chicago was off the charts crazy not a single person thought it was a bad move. Wow is this a Bears town. People outside of Chicago do not realize that the stigma of the Bears was that they never went for it. This changes that thought process. The feeling was the McCaskey's pocket money and play it really safe to the vest. Angelo debunked this myth and the lights have gone back on. Angelo does not like the money it cost for first round picks and therefore while others may think this was too much this is actually a benefit to the Bears pocket book as they can now spend this years and next years money on extending players or free agents, say hello to this years first round pick Orlando Pace and next years first round pick Ken Lucas. Cedric Benson is all you need to know. Great quarterbacks can make below average receivers good. Great receivers can not make below average quarterbacks good. Also it is a whole hell of a lot easier to built a WR corp than it is to find a franchise quarterback. Cutler to Hester/Olsen is a threat and Forte became better today as the field goes from a 20 yard field to a 50 yard field for the defense to cover. The ego that is the Bell Belichick regime just handed the Bears Jay Cutler, thanks Bill. Even if Cutler sucks and never completes a pass this is a move the Bears fans have needed for a lifetime. If you are not a Bears fan especially one in Chicago you can not understand this.
  17. I said this before and I will say it all season. This team is going to struggle to score runs. I also think Getz will lead off by the end of April and Anderson will be in center. The Wise thing is just to ease him in as it will be a situation where "he can't be any worse than what we have".
  18. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 03:30 PM) It shows you how good and how consistent Jermaine Dye has been for this offense for the past 4 seasons. When he is gone he will be the most underappreciated player in White Sox history. He is not pretty to watch all of the time but his numbers are pretty good seeing as he hits behind plodders.
  19. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) I have found out in the last 3 weeks that Steve drinks and posts a lot Maybe so but in reality who is hte better MLB player?
  20. I HATE PODS!!!!!! But bring him back in a heartbeat as he is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wise
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) Clayton pitched well this ST with the exception of two particularly bad starts where he gave up 7 and 5 runs. Obviously Cooper and Ozzie are happy with him, and the only concern is making sure he gets ahead of hitters and keeps the ball down...which is true of any pitcher in the big leagues, whether he's a rookie or Cliff Lee, who has one of the worst ST ERA's in all of the Cactus League. I drafted a guy's fantasy team for him and took Lee in the second round not knowing what he was doing in the spring. Two picks laster I took Zambrano for myself......I like big Z.
  22. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) what did he do to deserve that? one good start against ny and in the playoffs he did well in relief? jeez. just like wise. have a few decent games and u get a job. He was arguably the second best pitcher in the playoffs as well as a good minor leaguer......oh and he is young but around here that is just another reason to hate a player.
  23. These f***ers haven't responded to a thread of mine in almost 6 years. Bunch of assholes all of them. I'm outta here. Dicks.
  24. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 12:48 PM) On Mully and Hanley this morning, they were saying Detroit might offer their #1 pick for Cutler...which I believe is the 1st pick this year... This was stated a few weeks back.
  25. Looks like it is going to be a fun year around here. Excuse me while I shuffle over to the general baseball section and post why Prince Fielder should be released. The Sox should have just signed John Smoltz and been done with it. He is a tremendous athlete, great hockey player, even better golfer. As far as fielding bunts....well short of the uber athletic Greg Maddux, there was none better.
