That's pretty awful. There's plenty of no-kill shelters, rescue societies, etc. that take any and all animals. IIRC alphadog or someone in his family works at a shelter and might be able to help you find a home for him.

My standard for the death penalty is impossibly high. That's a feature, not a bug. Based on the documented and studied unreliability of eyewitness testimony, I don't believe it is ever enough to sentence someone to death on its own. I'm not convinced he was innocent. I'm not convinced their recantations were honest. I'm not convinced that they actually were coerced. But I'm even less convinced that Troy Davis was the murderer beyond a reasonable doubt.

The only angle he was convicted on was witness testimony as there was no physical evidence or murder weapon.
