  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 10:56 AM) Because they had Brett Favre for 15+ years. End of discussion. And the Bears are fighting the Lions for room in the basement without fellow future HoF player Brian Urlacher.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 10:56 AM) Would it then be fair to say the Bears have been a super bowl threat for Lovie's entire tenure? More often than not, not every year. Those opportunities were squandered by Angelo's terrible drafting and refusal/inability to address the offense.
  3. Where are the quality players that Angelo has drafted on defense? Briggs, Tillman...and? Without inheriting HOF talent at MLB, this would be an average defense at best. He's failed to find good CB's and safeties outside of Tillman. He keeps taking d-line guys, but other than some early success for Harris, what does he have to show there?
  4. The Packers didn't miss the playoffs last year because they beat a Bears team that struggled to put up any damn points.
  5. what's the soxtalk aol keyword?
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 08:56 AM) It's not fully there yet, but smartphone based polling/question responses (and presumably ipad based ones soon) are slowly getting integrated into higher ed courses. If I get to teach an intro course at a place that has them I'm just going to start off building courses with that in mind because its going to become more prevalent as time goes on. My wife's doing that sort of thing but just with small whiteboards for now. It's a great tool to check class understanding during the lesson.
  7. I did not expect anyone to say Angelo has done a decent job.
  8. QUOTE (Papa Tru @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Of course you can, I wasn't making a pro Ozzie argument.. I was just saying that comparing the two is pointless as they both have failed and yet people try to act like KW playing the nice guy he deserves to stick around making decisions for this club.. Which he most certainly shouldn't be.. Ozzie supporters must have some sort of built-in filter on SoxTalk that automatically removes the thousands of anti-KW posts and threads
  9. but the point that they're not really creating any jobs if they're refusing to hire the unemployed but are instead "job shufflers" taking advantage of a depressed labor market still stands.
  10. a lot of schools around here have ipad sets that teachers can check out for the classroom.
  11. so much for being "job creators"
  12. It's no secret that companies making record profits love depressed labor markets.
  13. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 10:31 AM) http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/obama-...-191042168.html lol the comments on that article, I wonder how many people realize the "argument" they're making against this proposal applies equally to any anti-discrimination law.
  14. well it'd at least stop ads explicitly stating they don't want to hire the unemployed.
  15. The Help-Wanted Sign Comes With a Frustrating Asterisk This seems like a pretty terrible trend. I'd imagine there would have to be some way to incentivize businesses away from these sorts of policies.
  16. I'd love to raft down it some time
  17. Well you could always go Naperville's route: they just passed a $50 fine if you get arrested, and it's non-refundable even if you're never charged or found innocent. No perverse incentives there.

The season 3 finale was great but sunday's episode had a physical effect on me when I was watching it. also agreed on 2-1/2 men, its always been a terribly unfunny show (then again so are most sitcoms).

I just want to watch the last 10 minutes of that episode again. That'a gotta be one of if not the best segments of television I've ever seen. It sort of reminds me of the way everything comes crashing down at the end of requiem for a dream

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:54 AM) I need to be as far away from him as possible. lol can't get much farther than that in the continental US.

  23. StrangeSox replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
by the way, when was it decided not to worry about BB spoilers the day after the episode airs?
  24. there's been some grumblings that this is a Yes Men hoax

Breaking Bad had a strong season finale feel to it, I had to check if it really was. Strong, strong finish. Best show on television by far.
