  1. QUOTE (Quin @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 03:45 PM) Gonna agree with Matt here. Also, in other news, James O'Keefe is back at it, this time trying to bait The Washington Post. https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigatio...m=.090eb96d0ada Ha, came here to post this. How is O'Keefe so bad at this, and how does anyone ever fall for it? They must genuinely think that the MSM operates the same way they do, with little or no ethics or actual journalistic integrity.
  2. Comcast hints at plan for paid fast lanes after net neutrality repeal Comcast still won't block or throttle—but paid prioritization may be on the way. Get ready for internet service to get simultaneously more expensive and worse!

  4. Michigan State hasn’t faced consequences for enabling the biggest sex abuse scandal in U.S. sports Larry Nassar has three times as many alleged victims as Jerry Sandusky. (I know it's a ThinkProgress piece, but it isn't partisan political)
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 02:47 PM) Funny thing is, I believe there is actually a room in the White House called the Indian Treaty room, or something like that. Which I suppose could be seen positively or negatively in this usage, but it's a far cry better than in front of the guy who wanted to exterminate their people. I agree that whomever decided to put the podium in front of that photo (regardless of what room it was in) was either trolling (and should be fired for that), or just grossly incompetent (probably should be fired for that too). I'm going to assume that the Trump WH just simply doesn't care about things like that, and for evidence, I'm going to point to the President using a slur about Indian heritage targeted towards a sitting Senator in the middle of this same ceremony. and also the White House Press Secretary saying that it's actually Warren who is being offensive in this case, not the President for using racial slurs. Donald Trump’s long history of clashes with Native Americans
  6. I'm definitely in the "it's way, way too early to write him off" camp but it'd be nicer to be able to point to things about Trubisky that indicate he's going to be a top QB rather than having to make excuses for why he hasn't looked all that great yet.
  7. Trump chose to hang the portrait of Andrew Jackson up in the Oval Office, which is where this ceremony was held.
  8. his only goal is "undo everything Obama did"
  9. QUOTE (Tony @ Nov 23, 2017 -> 11:18 AM) The Commander-in-chief
  10. I appreciate Pelosi for the good work she did 2006-2010 and how well she's held the Democrats in the House together so far this year, but I'm ready for another leader. Meanwhile, the GOP explanation for the VA races this year was "of course the DC suburbs broke against Trump/GOP." That doesn't explain why the Richmond suburbs did, too. Why a historically conservative county in Virginia is making national Republicans nervous
  11. I didn't think Fox would ever be great but I didn't think he'd be this bad.
  12. I haven't seen any reporting or a claim from Barton that she was demanding something in return for silence. He doesn't have the right to demand that anyone he's had a relationship with be silent about it forever. If she's bitter that he ended their secret relationship, she has every right to tell people about it if she wants to. He's definitely a victim with regards to the photo/video being released, though.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 11:55 AM) Nearly 9 million children in this country rely on CHIP, and it expires this Saturday. They still haven't done anything to renew CHIP, and states are starting to run out of money to keep funding it. Several million children are going to lose health insurance by the end of the year while congress is focused on cutting taxes for the richest of the rich.
  14. Yeah, there's definitely a major difference there in that the relationship was 100% consensual. Where the problem seems to be is that he's threatening her if she were to ever disclose the relationship at all. It sounded more like he didn't even want her talking about it to other people because it could be damaging to him. Sending out his nude photo is a violation on her part for sure though, and it is important to keep things in perspective rather than lumping it all together.
  15. Trump is now claiming the Access Hollywood tape is fake. Conyers stepped down from the House Judiciary committee
  16. Rep. Joe Barton Congressman told woman he would report her to Capitol Police if she exposed his secret sex life https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=...rN8ZFOD4xbU2nov
  17. Yeah but the difference is one dude is trying to sell his kids and some sneakers, the other guy holds arguably the most powerful position in the world. Ball doesn't actually matter outside of the spectacle.
  18. I dunno, that's a pretty weird take when one party is calling for ethics investigations or even resignation of its own members and the other elected a man who bragged about sexual assault on camera and are about to elect a child predator.
  19. Trump's come out in favor of Roy Moore: "We don't need a liberal Democrat in that seat" "Roy Moore denies it--that's all I can say"
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 12:04 PM) How the heck is Trump bulletproof when everyone else is getting s***canned when allegations are made? I mean he might be the least truthful person in all of these controversies yet people believe him? Mind-boggling "Specifically, Sen. Franken has admitted wrongdoing and the president hasn’t," White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Friday. "That's a very clear distinction." They maintain that the dozen+ accusers are all liars, with Trump himself implying that they're too ugly for him to have assaulted. People in the media and entertainment industry are being shoved out the door, but for politicians, there haven't been any big-name resignations yet.
  21. Ronan Farrow's reporting has been invaluable Harvey Weinstein’s Secret Settlements The mogul used money from his brother and elaborate legal agreements to hide allegations of predation for decades. Settlements with strict NDA's are part of the problem.
