  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 20, 2017 -> 09:15 AM) No, this is so cynical. There is an opportunity here to actually change things. Your comment is so similar to the "So ALL cops are bad!? we get it" comments. If the people that take advantage of their power, for one, are held accountable for this behavior maybe it stops. But now that there are so many stories where people are putting their name on the line as accusers we hit a point where we just say "we get it, all men are bad, blah blah get over it". No, let the offenders face real consequences. Nothing was truly being solved by just paying out victims silently. Yeah, the story just went from, "it was one woman from before he was a Senator. She accepted his apology and he called for an ethics investigation; let's see where this goes" to "at least two women including one while he was actually in office." Even beyond the sexual allegations and Franken himself, this has national political implications for major policies given how tenuous everything is in the Senate right now. Of course this is going to be a national story.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 20, 2017 -> 09:11 AM) Does it really need to be a national news story? Really? We all just figured out that men, particularly those with influence, are inherently dirtbags? It's a story about a well-known US Senator who just faced an allegation last week. That seems worthy of being a national story.
  3. "Don't put your hands on a woman's ass" seems pretty straight forward. e: where else are they supposed to go to expose these creeps?
  4. Another accusation again Franken, this one from 2010. http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/20/politics/al-...2010/index.html
  5. That wasn't even close
  6. Didn't the players thank him in their press conference before he even whined about it? I'm still amazed that anyone sees this dumpy, fat toddler as some sort of strong leader.
  7. Kush seems to have definitely perjured himself, saying under oath he had no knowledge of attempts to contact the campaign by WikiLeaks. https://t.co/CaEL97VDKA He also failed to disclose this: This guy ended up seated next to Don Jr at an event at the convention

  9. Yeah maybe don't spread unsubstantiated rumors from right wing Twitter
  10. Alabama's Gov. announced that she's going to vote for Roy Moore. I guess Republican control of the Senate is more important than not voting for a theocratic child predator.
  11. My Galaxy S7 recently updated and that broke the Bluetooth media integration with my Ford Sync 2.0 system. I'm pretty angry about car tech right now!
  12. lotta allegations coming out about Jeffrey Tambor https://www.theringer.com/tv/2017/11/17/166...ion-transparent
  13. Murkowski demanding that Alexander-Murray, the bipartisan ACA fix legislation, become law before she could consider voting for repealing the individual mandate. That's two "No's" in the Senate on the tax cut bill.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 16, 2017 -> 06:37 PM) Can you believe it, they are after Jared again. He forgot a couple of more items on his security clearance forms, Kushner got emails about WikiLeaks, Russia in 2016, lawmakers say So Wikileaks wasn't just talking to DJT Jr., and Kushner still maintains a security clearance despite "forgetting" hundreds of relevant details on his background check. The bolded also seems like a pretty big deal.

  16. There was a big study I heard about on the radio a month ago that found the high-tech touchscreens are pretty distracting. The voice commands don't really help much, either, because it still takes a lot of your mental attention to give the command and then verify that it was executed properly rather than blindly reaching for the volume knob or whatever and knowing you've got the right button just from muscle memory. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-...1004-story.html
  17. Isn't Tesla way, way behind production schedule and laying a bunch of people off? Also touch screens in cars aren't great because they provide zero tactile feedback and require a lot more attention from drivers than physical controls do. Going 100% touchscreen is a bad idea.
  18. Government analysis shows House tax bill would increase the cost of college by $71 billion over a decade https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/grade-p...m=.7db7942c20bc
  19. The spill was mentioned in the environmental thread, don't think anyone brought up the elephant trophy thing. I'm sure his sons love it. Mueller has issued subpoenas for Russia related documents from the Trump campaign. It's the first time the campaign itself has been subpoenaed. https://politicalwire.com/2017/11/16/muelle...trump-campaign/
  20. Donald "grab them by the p****" "dozen accusations" "barged into miss teen dressing rooms" "'I'll be dating you in a few years' to a 14 year old" Trump is currently trying to claim the moral high ground on sexual assault. Still no comment on Moore, though.

  22. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 16, 2017 -> 09:52 AM) I don't want to hear another half ass apology. You should lose your job for this. Democratic Party should be heavy handed on this.
  23. Fwiw, rabbit, I've sseen you do the same thing at least once. I didn't bring it up because, hey, you pretty quickly deleted it. As far as the rest of the mods go, I haven't had a moderation related discussion in years so I don't know what you're talking about.
  24. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 08:36 PM) Knowing your tendency to delete posts I always quote your posts directed at me as you post them in one of my windows. I am not abusing any powers because you like to antagonize and leave the posts around long enough for me (or others) to see them and then delete them before any reprimand or accountability can take place. You've done this before as you know and it's been spoken about with the mods in the post. If you are going to complain about your dirty laundry being aired either delete your attacks quicker or don't post them at all. You should consider the rules and the ramifications before continuing on with these phantom attacks. Color me extremely skeptical given that one of those posts was hours and hours ago and was only ever up for less than a minute at most. You honestly kept these open in separate tabs for hours so you could post them? Someone with access to the back end database could look up the transactions to verify. I deleted the posts because they were bad posts. They don't have been made, I quickly recognized that and removed. Air them if you want.
