  6. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 11:17 AM) In my experience, the codes never tell you exactly what's wrong. It just lists 2 or 3 possible causes. You'd actually have to take it to a shop with a diagnostic machine to know exactly what is wrong. But that costs a lot more... It depends. You need some familiarity with cars, and google always helps. I diagnosed a bad EGRV solenoid and replaced it on my car using it.
  7. I had one of the bluetooth OBDII modules and the $5 Torque app on my phone, but I forgot the OBDII module in my wife's car when we traded it in. $5 app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...orque&hl=en $10 scanner: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004KL0I9...=UTF8&psc=1 Not as good as a $1000 SnapOn OBDII tool, but definitely helpful for routine troubleshooting.
  8. Yeah, this was supposed to be an easy week against a guy with a garbage team outside of Manning and Welker. Now all I need is for every one of his remaining players to score 0-1 points and I'll have a shot.
  9. so why doesn't Yahoo! lock the Thursday night players into the waiver wire like they do for the Sunday games?
  10. You can get a bluetooth OBDII module for $15-20 on Amazon and use it with an app on your phone to read CEL codes (and a whole bunch of other diagnostic information). You can reset the codes that way, too. Autozone etc. will read codes for free, too. But yeah, usually it's emissions-related. Leaky gas cap seal, bad emissions control valves/solenoids, bad O2 sensor. Reading the CEL code will tell you exactly what's wrong.
  11. His dad was there and watched it happen Some of the comments point out the wingtip speed of the blades on one of these helicopters. It's a 5' diameter blade spinning at about 2000rpm, which puts the wingtip speed at about 360mph.

  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 4, 2013 -> 09:01 AM) If you do that, you begin to get to the point where not taking a guy like Brady, Brees, Manning, or Rodgers in the first becomes silly because they are getting an additional 80 points compared to standard leagues. You are talking about 240 points from touchdowns alone, minus 20 points for the 10 interceptions he throws. Add the additional 160 points you get from the passing yards (4000, minimum, for ~160 points) and you're at 380. Then you can throw in 2-6 (we'll use 4) rushing touchdowns and 160 rushing yards (which is a rather small amount for some of these guys) and you are looking at 420 points, which is almost 90 points more than Adrian Peterson got last year in standard leagues. Cut that to 4 points per touchdown, and the world makes sense again. Passing touchdowns are not equal to receiving or rushing touchdowns, which is why we track them separately. I think you have to go back to that "points above replacement" concept, though. Brady, Brees, Manning and Rodgers will all put up those monster numbers, lets say right around 420 points. What about QB's 5-10? If those guys are still going to put up numbers somewhat close to that, then you need to look at the positions where the difference between the first, second and third tiers are greater. FWIW both of the leagues I'm in are 6pts/all TD's, and it was still RB/WR-heavy in the 1st and 2nd rounds.
  19. The Yahoo! standard is 4pts/passing TD, 6pts/receiving or rushing TD.
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 3, 2013 -> 07:33 PM) Without breaking the drive, if it won't mount, there isn't much you can do. You can get a rather large/powerful magnet and hold it to the drive, that should damage any data on it pretty severely. I wouldn't worry too much about it, when drives are RMA'd like that, there are pretty strict rules they're supposed to follow about it's disposal. I'm not worried about personal information. Really, the computer hasn't even been used all that much and all of my wife's school stuff was backed up already. But there's probably some stuff on there I'm not thinking of that I'd like to have. Oh well, no big deal if I can't. Luckily all of our important information was on other drives.
  21. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 3, 2013 -> 07:24 PM) That's probably a whole bunch of upgrades for him, not to mention SSD's aren't cheap. I highly doubt his motherboard even supports them, unless he has a pretty new computer on his hands. The computer is only about 18 months old. The drive is still under warranty from WD so I'm good there, I'm just looking for any way to get what data I can off the crap drive before I send it in for RMA
  22. So my main hard drive on my PC went to s*** on Friday. It was fine all evening, I left for about half an hour, came back to log on and the system was frozen. I restarted, and then it was in a System Repair/chkdsk loop until last night. I ran Western Digital's diagnostic program, and that gave me a "too many errors, lol" error message. I ran some other utility program I found (Hiren's BootCD) and that couldn't even get the HDD to mount. Luckily the drive is still under warranty, so I'll get a replacement, but I don't know how to get any data off of it at this point. If I can't get it to mount using a linux boot CD, is there any hope of getting anything off of the drive myself? There's nothing all that important on there except for Skyrim saves. (Convenient timing, I just got an external backup drive as a gift yesterday)

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 08:16 AM) Yeah - nothing can ever be discussed if every season of every tv show must not be talked about without spoiler tags. yeah I avoided this thread for five days before I could catch up on the latest episode, I expect there to be BB talk in here from Sunday evening on.
