  1. Mine is $65 with taxes or so.
  2. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 04:37 PM) Yeah, you do daydream a lot. Alpha, do you see why most people don't see "not blowing up the economy" isn't a compromise by a rational, good faith negotiator?
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 04:24 PM) You are the exception to that rule. I know a LOT of people, including Apple users, that have needed their phone replaced via warranty repair. sounds like an inferior product!
  4. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 04:22 PM) Increasing the debt ceiling. Republicans are giving up not blowing up the world economy. That's not really a sacrifice.
  5. If the roles were reversed and Democrats were to demand complete repeal of the Bush tax cuts as a part of a CR to fund the government or fund the debt ceiling, would you believe that the Republicans should compromise anything to keep the government functioning and the economy not-blowing-up? What are Republicans giving up?
  6. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) What have they compromised on yet? Continued funding at sequestration levels. What are Republicans giving up?
  7. If you'd have to go through an exterior wall with insulation, it could be a pain in the ass.
  8. So is the answer that we should instead work to ensure that these millions of Americans can't access our health care system (i.e. wait time=∞) so that the wait time for those of us with access doesn't increase? Or?
  9. Clearly, both sides are at fault and Democrats should compromise some more. edit: Captain Phillips is a cleverly timed propaganda piece from the Obama administration, meant to remind the radical politicians willing to shut down the government and default on the debt if their demands aren't met, exactly how he negotiates with irrational hostage-takers.
  10. FWIW there have been multiple reports that if Boehner would allow a clean CR to come to the floor, it would pass easily. It would just severely piss off the hard liners and the primary voters. http://washingtonexaminer.com/how-30-house...article/2536611
  11. How many states is that allowed in these days? And wouldn't Dems be interested in voting in their own primary in 2016?
  12. I suck at patching drywall, but you could probably find someone to do that for $300.
  13. You could use wiremold to cover the cables without tearing into the ceiling, but if your floor joists are running the right way (i.e. you could run all the cabling between two joists, not having to go through a bunch), it wouldn't be too much work. Only a little bit more than running power and cabling up behind a wall-mounted TV.
  14. I understand that, but soxfest said for the same policy, premiums rose over 100% and out-of-pocket costs rose 4000%.
  15. Out-of-pocket costs wouldn't change if it was the same plan?
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 09:16 AM) My friend paid $75.00 a month for healthcare same policy under Obamacare is $184.00 a month. She is single and her out of pocket pocket cost will go up 4000%. This is not what I call affordable healthcare. Obama lied his ass off. $75->$184 is not 4000%?
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 08:42 AM) I've had time to let the BB finale settle - and I just could not be more pleased. The wife and I were first adopters, meaning we watched the premiere the night it aired on AMC five years ago. Never once have I not been pleased by an episode. I'm apparently one of the very few who adored "Fly". There's a plethora of shows that stayed on the air far beyond their expiration date - most recently Dexter. While that leaves a bad taste in anyone's mouth, I'm already reeling from the loss of BB. I love where the show wound up. No bad deed goes unpunished indeed. However, man, I feel like this last "season" (split into two) could have been told over the course of 3 seasons easily. We jumped so much time in such a short amount of episodes. I wish that contract situations and salaries could have been figured out to continue the slow burn that made the series really amazing. Every time we neared a climax they found a way to squeeze and hold off a little bit longer for truly great payoffs. This last season, especially part two, was incredibly hurried. Other than that, it was just perfect. I've decided to start re-watching the series now. I'm already excited to see some of the many epic scenes yet again - the first cook, the bathtub, Walt making the difficult decision to kill Krazy-8 and it being so unnatural for him (and man, I still remember being terrified that with that dude slashing around while being killed against the pole), the birth of Heisenberg, Walt blowing up Tuco, letting Jane die, those psycho f***ing cousins, Gus brutally killing that guy in the underground meth lab, "Salud", the train heist, the gus explosion, f***ing jail killings, Hank finding out, and endless breakfasts for Junior. F*ck they go on and on. By far my favorite show of all-time - drama or comedy. I'm going to miss this perfection, and I hope something comes along to rival the great shows again soon. Season 5 was great, but I still think the last four episodes of Season 4 are the best television ever. The last scene of Face Off, starting with his call with Skylar, still gives me chills.
  18. If you're in a constant new-car cycle, leasing makes sense. I hate car payments, though.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 12:25 PM) Hmm, let me see what I can find. I need something at least 70 in for that basement area. projector?
  20. A guy at my work bought a Solstice in 2006 when he graduated college. It's his daily driver, but it still has less than 20,000 miles on it (he's like 1.5 miles from the office). At that rate, this car will last him until retirement.
  21. One thing we can all agree on, trucking is definitely an industry that is 100% non-reliant on government to function and exist.
  22. Skylar will know where the money came from.
  23. Will Shawnee national forest be closed because of this
  24. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) Because, and this something I've tried to get through to you, being 70 ft long and taking 3-4x the distance to stop as a car does not lend itself to changing lanes very well. So just because at the moment you're in a two mile stretch with no ramps it doesn't mean in the near future (particulalrly on a 3+ lane highway) there won't be many ramps. I need a ton of room to switch lanes, I need a ton of room to even slow down. So being involved in a dance between the center and right lane is bad. I can't be any more clear. Seriously, that's the best I can do. Balta gave a story about a truck sitting in the left-most lane of a three lane highway and not getting over even when the driver had time. Your response was to talk about "4 wheelers" and deride them for wanting to go faster to get to a job they hate anyway. Something's getting lost in your narrative here.
