  1. Yeah. They're talking to Don Cooper right now. He's hoping Schoenweis steps up and takes one of the remaining starter's spot.
  2. Hey man, I'm just reporting what I'm hearing. Who knows what they plan on doing?
  3. Levine reported A-Rod and Manny Ramirez trade may not be dead yet. Same for Mags to Boston deal.
  4. I hope they provide some more Sox news this time around. They devoted a good chunk of that show to SCrUBby coverage.
  5. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! After reading all the crap on WSI, where everybody over there is negative about this season, it's good to read some Sox fans haven't given up on this season. Losing Colon will hurt, but I still believe that Gordon is one curveball away from another season-ending injury. We caught lightning in a bottle in the fact he was able to stay healthy, but I don't think the Yankees will be so lucky. And I also think Sullivan was vastly overrated. Who I'm really hoping steps up this year is Rauch. I think if he can stay healthy, he could really step in and take that 4th or 5th starter's job and get the job done.
  6. Can't mention Cub garbage without the famous Lee Elia quote:
  7. I wish FSN Chicago showed more games. You know WGN is gonna have their boatload of Cubs games and 1-2 Sox games. But 8-9 would be nice.
  8. Yeah, it was probably like everytime someone voted for the Scrubs, they counted it as 3 votes. Remember, this is Chicago.
  9. Don't get me wrong, I knew the Sox were gonna finish last in this one. Remember, it is the Tribune. But the SCrUBS over the Bears? Not likely.
  10. I was checking Chicagosports.com and they had a poll listed below. Check out the results: What interests you the most? 24.2% Who the Bears hire as head coach (1693 responses) 62.0% Whether the Cubs will sign Greg Maddux or Ivan Rodriguez (4339 responses) 13.7% Wondering if the Sox will make a major trade (961 responses) 6993 total responses Now even as a diehard Sox fan, I KNOW the Bears are still numero uno in this town. And anytime the Bears make a major move, like I don't know, HIRING A FREAKING HEAD COACH, that's usually gonna trump any move the remaining 4 teams in this city makes. So one must ask themselves how only 24% of the people are interested in the Bears move, while an astonishing 62% care about 2 free agents who may/may not come to Chicago. Can anyone else make heads or tails out of this one? I'm beyond trying to.
  11. I think it was Tim Kurjkian's list, not Peter Gammons. If it was Gammons, 8 out of the 10 players would've been Yankees or Red Sox. What I love is how he has Sosa & Griffey going, but Frank & Bagwell on the bubble? Unreal. Typical ESPN garbage.
  12. Let the butt-kicking commence!
  13. Thanks for the input you guys. I swear, sometimes you post something over there and some of them wanna kick your ass for speaking your mind.
  14. I posted on WSI (under ChiSox14303556) that on "The Score", update reporter George Offman made a quip that the Sox were trying to "pawn" Konerko on the Angels. I posted that I took offense to that comment and I got reamed by some of the posters over there because I simply said I was tired of all of the Chicago media bashing the Sox. Tell me: Am I making too much of this? Or is what I'm saying true? Or are just a couple of posters on WSI a bunch of tools? Thanks.
  15. The Chicago Tribune late on reporting Sox news???? No, really?
  16. Until the White Sox hoist the World Series trophy, or are mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs, they'll never be out of it, as far as I'm concerned.
  17. The Sox forum on whitesox.com is littered with Cub trolls bragging about this year. When they come up short, I can't wait to hear what drivel they'll come up with as an excuse.
  18. The Cubs will fail as usual. All this hype is gonna come back and bite them in the ass. :fthecubs
  19. The Yankees now have 0 left handed starters. I'm so glad we signed Buerhle now, 'cause the Yankees would've found a way to try and steal him away.
  20. As far as I'm concerned, Buerhle's always been the ace. Loaiza was a surprise, and welcome addition, and Colon helped stabilize the rotation. But after getting over that 1st half slump from "dead arm" syndrome, Buerhle pitched like the Mark Buerhle we've seen the last 3 years. And if I needed convincing, outdueling perennial Sox-killer Mark Mulder 2-1 back in August did the trick. I think Buerhle's gonna reach that 20 win plateau this year. And hopefully, Bobby Kielty will be nowhere in sight.
  21. Carlos Lee has signed a 2 year deal with a possible option for a 3rd year to remain with the Sox. More details to come.
  22. Everett signs with Expos AP NewsBreak: Everett agrees to contract with Expos By RONALD BLUM, AP Sports Writer December 15, 2003 NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- All-Star outfielder Carl Everett agreed Monday to a contract with the Montreal Expos that guarantees him $7 million over the next two seasons, The Associated Press learned. The deal was to be announced later Monday. Details were confirmed by a pair of baseball officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Everett, 33, hit .287 last season with 28 homers and 92 RBIs for the Texas Rangers after they acquired him from the Chicago White Sox on July 1. His contract with the Expos calls for a $3 million salary in 2004. Everett has a $4 million player option for 2005. If he exercises it, Montreal would get a $5 million team option for 2006 with a $500,000 buyout. He earned $9.15 million last season, when he became an All-Star for the second time. Everett is a .278 career hitter in 11 frequently turbulent seasons, including stints with the Florida Marlins, New York Mets, Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox. Tampa Bay also made an offer to Everett last week. Montreal needed an outfielder to replace Vladimir Guerrero, who became a free agent. The Expos didn't offer him salary arbitration Dec. 7, meaning he cannot re-sign with Montreal until May 1. Everett was an All-Star his first season in Boston after being traded from Houston, hitting .300 with 34 homers and 108 RBIs in 2000. But he was also suspended for 10 days after he exploded in fury and head-butted umpire Ron Kulpa. After numerous arguments with Red Sox managers Jimy Williams and Joe Kerrigan, Everett was traded to Texas at the 2001 winter meetings.
  23. The way I see it, Buerhle went through the typical "dead arm" period that most young pitchers face at one time or another, and fortunately, it only lasted a half a season. Nice job by KW to keep Buerhle in the fold. There will be a 20 win season out of him before this deal runs it course.

    Gammons

Anybody know where the Jaws of Life are at? We need to extract Gammons' lips from the crack of Steinbrenner's ass.
