  1. Really, Bonderman is better on the road than at home. Home- 12 Starts 4-4 4.54 ERA Away- 12 Starts 7-1 3.01 ERA Much of that home failure was early season. Still either way, you are lucky you don't get him. He's a stud.
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) His number is 0-3 vs. the Sox. You aren't understanding. Never mind.
  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) Seems to me that us beating on him is the problem. Yes, so when he has that supposed problem again, just go show him that that wasn't why, you just have his number.
  4. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) To all the Tigers fans, I've got a question: Is Jim Leyland your god?? Thats definitely the way he's portrayed. To many. I think he's a bit overrated. They all seem to say that it's all him, blahblah, and they don't even mention the rookies/near-rookies like Miner, Verlander, Zumaya, and Granderson.
  5. Big Deal. If they want to prove him wrong just go beat him when he has his "problem" fixed.
  6. White Sox came up big this series. Way to go.
  7. Both pitchers seem to be doing a bit better lately, but I can't see the Tigers winning.
  8. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) I hear ya, and were the tables turned, no doubt we would be downplaying these games too. But you can't fault us for being happy - division or not, we need wins to get to the playoffs no matter who the opponent is. And bigger collapses have happened - so don't count out the Sox overtaking the division, even though the odds are against us. A month and a half of baseball to go. Where did I fault you for being happy? You should be!
  9. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) And you'd be saying what if the tables were turned? Amazing how the tide is starting to turn and now the games don't matter as much? GMAB. You can't say these games matter to the Tigers more than the Sox. The Sox came out on top, kudos to them, no problem. Tigers win tomorrow, 7.5 up, lose, still 5.5 which is a decent lead. If the Sox got swept it would've been much harder for them to win the division. I'm not saying that just because "the tides are turning"
  10. Horrible defense by Detroit. I'm not worried though. Much bigger series for Chicago then it was for Detroit.
  11. QUOTE(Wedge @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) Anyone know the Tigers lineup yet? CF Granderson 2B Polanco C Rodriguez RF Ordonez SS Guillen DH Monroe LF Thames 1B Casey 3B Inge
  12. Who ever said that needs to have a mental checkup.
  13. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) Thank you Verlander for making your track record known against good hitting teams.. Verlander hasn't pitched too many games against them, but he has actually had some gems against good hitting teams. There was one game to the Yanks, and one to you guys he wasn't too good. The rest he was awesome.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) Same difference. I'm pulling at strings here.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) 5 IP, 13 H, 5 ER EEK! 4 ER
  16. QUOTE(fullcollapse @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) verlander = zoolander thank you jose... seriously, thank you Well, around Detroit Zoolander means Verlander+Zumaya. Sorry.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) We own Zoolander!!!!!!!! I don't think you have been against Zumaya enough times to own him. Anyhow, great performance all around.
  18. I love Berman when he is doing his specialty, football. I HATE it when he does baseball. He sucks.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) To be fair, neither of those teams is much to speak of offensively, but we will see if it holds up or not. True, but still an improvement of giving up 5 runs to another medicore offensive team, Oakland.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) especially with Rogers and Miner up for Detroit the next 2 games, and they've REALLY struggled post ASB. Miner is putting it back together. Last three starts: 6.1 IP, 7H, 3ER, 0BB, 3K (against minnesota) 5.2 IP, 4H, 3ER, 3BB, 2K (against tampa bay) 6.0 IP, 4H, 2ER, 2BB, 5K (against minnesota) Not great, but decent.
  21. QUOTE(Balance @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:23 AM) Verlander and Count tonight. What are the pitching matchups for Saturday and Sunday? Buerhle and Rogers tomorrow, and Garcia and Miner the next day. Tonight will be a very good game. Even though Verlander has struggled a bit against the Sox, I think he can do. (DET WIN) Tomorrow will probably be a slugfest. (CHW WIN) Sunday I don't really know what to predict, both pitchers have been better lately.
  22. I don't think the Tigers will pitch Miller in high pressure situations, a la Zumaya and Rodney. Blowout games, and maybe he will get a start the last week versus the Royals.
  23. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) Pudge is the most annoying player in the league, no player showboats/celebrates like he does. Every player is different. Not a huge thing. QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) Pudge please go do some more steroids. Are the Tigers still claiming to be a real team? No real team wins from behind at will. The question is how many Tiger fans had to sell their souls for this season to happen? The steroid thing is old. Yes, he took them. Much like many other players in the league. The Tigers don't win from behind at will. There have been plenty of times they haven't. They just have had late clutch hitting lately. To turn this in a different direction, am I the only one who feels sorry for Carmona? Poor kid.
  24. QUOTE(loltrain @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 11:46 PM) Young's horrific defensive play led to some runs, and forced him to throw far more pitches than he should have. Hopefully we never see Dmitri at any position other than DH the rest of the year. Thank you.
