  1. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) I am not exactly sure how 5 runs in 5 IP against the DRays isn't horrible. You probably didn't watch, but Dmitri Young had 3( should have been 4 errors), and even though the runs ended up being earned, without those errors he would have been out of many innings.
  2. Robertson and Miner were good last time out, Rogers wasn't horrible, Bonderman had his first bad start in nearly two months. Verlander, I don't know. They seem to be breaking out of it, much like the Sox.
  3. WIthout that odd inning in Minnesota Bonderman's would not be that high.. ANyhow, I am not worried. Take Rogers out and it is near the Sox's.
  4. The guy is part right and part wrong. The reason for the trade was because more than half of Shelton's stats came in early April, and sense then, he has majorly slumped. (Even though he had picked it up a bit before the Casey Pick-up) And, the Thames reason is obvious. Pitchers have learned how to pitch him. He can't hit the outside pitch worth a crack. He has like 50 hits to right field and 10 combined to center and left. And Todd Jones has been fine.
  5. Brent struggled in Erie, but had picked it up lately, hitting about .260 in July( Considering he hit .210 before..)
  6. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) if you're tired of hearing it then maybe you should try posting on a tigers board. Then again, I wouldn't recommend that either. I was surfing some motorsports site and it was full of kool-aid drinking sox haters who are already mapping out the parade route for October. Comical, but pointless. Very few people on that site is guaranteeing a World Series. If they are, ignore their posts, they aren't worth it. That is a quality site.
  7. I don't think it is a big deal to say that. He shouldn't have generalized Latinos, but many times wearing your heart on your sleeve is a GOOD THING. But, what Ozzie said back to that is kind of pointless, because he also talks about people he doesn't know.
  8. I was almost positive Granderson must have hurt himself on that inside the park homer..luckily he didn't. It was nice to see Colon pitch well, and Inge made a nice play at 3rd.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) And therefore, we didn't get to draft anyone nearly as sure as a Justin Verlander. Good point. I didn't even think about it from that perspective.
  10. I think it will be a pitcher's duel just like the last game Contreras pitched. I actually think the White Sox pull it out though.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 10:44 AM) The Sox were picked to finish 4th by many "experts". The Sox didn't average 100 losses in the last five years and they didn't lose 119 games in 2003 though.
  12. I probably shouldn't post this, but I gues sit gives a view from the other side. The game that really irritated me was when AJ hit that 3 run homer against Dempster.
  13. Leyland. Gardenhire in a close second.
  14. I was watching the Tigers game, and I had turned it over to the Sox game and it was 2-0 Sox. Then about 5 minutes later I turned it, it was 6-2 Twins. Did Javier implode again? Or was he out already?
  15. I don't think they sweep. 2 out of 3 for the Sox.
  16. It's only because of the surprise. The Sox were a bit of a surprise last year, but not this big of one. But, I agree. There is absolutely no point in comparing the Tigers to Tiger Woods.
  17. I'm sure it was nice for you to knock Padilla around a bit.
  18. In my biased opinion, I would say Verlander and Bonderman. For other teams, I would have to say Martinez, Hudson, and Willis. (I've had a short lifetime...)
  19. Nothing is insurmountable on July 21st.
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 08:53 AM) No it isn't. Corktown is nowhere near as bad as some of the areas further west, out on Grand River Blvd. and in the area where the Olympia used to be. From my experiences it is..
  21. I don't think a team ever needs a loss. The White Sox know what they need to do, they don't need a loss to show them that.
  22. QUOTE(JackTalkThai @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Ehh don't trade him...bring him up and throw him in the rotation. I would be shocked if he isn't better than Miner. I would only trade Sanchez for Abreu. Sanchez really hasn't proven himself. This has been his only good year, so I'm not dead set against trading him.
  23. John Kruk said that The White Sox would probably trade McCarthy for Gordon.. He makes no sense..
