  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 09:22 PM) Not a good first step for Ramirez either Yeah, he really might have been able to knock that down at least.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) For 2 hours or so. It will then pour for hours. Yeah, "nothing else behind it" would not imply that.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 09:12 PM) For reference there is about a 1.5 hour ish gap and then a huge line of storms will move in. The umpire said they're being told there is nothing else coming.
  4. Shaw should be fine if they really start in 8 minutes.
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) Chapman shook real bad
  6. Maddon made this a game again. What a stupid f***ing move.
  7. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 01:10 PM) The bolded is what I'd do. I don't really see the point in getting rid of Cutler sight unseen. It's not like they need the cap space, they have tons because of the rebuild. Yeah, I agree.
  8. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 12:57 PM) By then it would've been year 3 of a rebuilding project, that isn't time to be okay with still losing games. I'd be really annoyed if they were still lacking a sense of urgency about developing a QB prospect, especially considering how difficult it is to do so these days with most QB prospects not being ready for the NFL. So what you're ultimately saying is that if we draft a qb high enough that you'd be ok with them cutting Jay? Why not just keep him if that guy won't be ready to play yet anyways?
  9. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 12:52 PM) That's something they could have done this year, since it's not like they needed the guaranteed money for the cap space anyway, they have plenty. It'd be dumb to move on from him with no clear path forward, imo Well do we really expect a clear path forward to emerge by next year?
  10. Yeah, I agree with much of this, but if the question is whether it makes sense to cut him or not, and further, does it make sense to cut him if you do not have someone ready to take over (we won't), there is absolutely a case to be made to cut him (though it would not be my choice). If you cut him, you know you won't win many games, which will likely provide you with a better chance to obtain his replacement in the draft. Additionally, if you cut him, you've now got some additional dollars to spend in FA, perhaps on a player that you intend to be part of your nucleus moving forward. So there are arguments for moving forward with cutting Jay, even without a clear-cut replacement.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 10:25 AM) That's kinda why this World Series hasn't been that great, even though they are going to a Game 7. When a team doesn't really have a shot to come back, it makes it for pretty straightforward win or lose type games. I hope that continues with the Indians taking an early 4-0 lead, and they just win it. Game 3 was the best game by far.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) So you counter that by generalizing "liberals." Nice. He is absolutely spot-on for the "liberals" posting in this thread.
  13. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 08:27 AM) remember when greg told me I was dumb for making those bets on the indians the nights the indians won? francona is too good of a manager to lose 3 in a row. Then he had the nerve to come back the next morning and use the exact same reasoning for why they would win that evening.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 08:08 AM) I know the Cubs have the better lineup but they literally have done nothing against him the 1st two times they faced him. 1 run in 12 innings. 15 Ks and 1 BB. Why should I think that changes? Because the bottom is dropping out of the Indians! And the Cubs are OBVIOUSLY going to win tonight! And there simply is NO WAY the Indians can win the series - they're shook! And all kinds of other ridiculous nonsense that about 4-5 posters have been repeating ad nauseum while the rest of us have been responding to the actual games...and facts...and stuff.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) I don't know if this was mentioned, as I just thought of it, and I am probably a little slow, but if the White Sox had made the WS this year and it went 6 games, they would have called it US cellular field for games 1 and 2, and guaranteed rate for 6 and 7. That was probably accommodated for and we just didn't know it.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) So now fox has a perfect camera angle for a replay Yeah, where the f*** did that come from?
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) Agreed kinda feel like everyone that was going to jump on the Cubs bandwagon already has, regardless of the next 25 hours Absolutely. Both of you are spot-on.
  18. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 07:09 PM) The Tribe are in big big trouble. They had the Cubs bloodied and battered, but didn't get the KO. Now they look scared and ready for this series to be over. Well look who showed up.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 06:50 PM) Absolutely didn't matter, but wow that first pitch was bad by West https://mobile.twitter.com/JPosnanski/statu...629742872272896 Yeah, he could have had 5 strikes and still k'd I feel like.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 06:42 PM) I think I might consider starting Salazar in game 6. Wish they would have.
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 06:15 PM) CF has priority over RF. If CF called it then its his ball. Now was it smart for him to call it when the RF is camped under it. No. But all things being equal when the CF calls for it, its his. Yeah, I f***ing understand how baseball is played. If you were watching the game, you'd know that Chisenhall was basically walking under it while Naquin is running up and has to dive to get it. Now after the two of us have just let a 2-run double fall in between us, you can be damned sure you are going to have to plow me out of the way if I am Chisenhall on that ball.I don't give a f*** what you call.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 06:01 PM) Gotta call it...guessing you've never played baseball? Naquin was calling for it. Hah. Dude he was calling a ball he had no business calling. Besides, they were both calling it. Rewind.
  23. QUOTE (drowninginflame @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 05:54 PM) Thanks for all of the positive feedback. I also appreciate all of the people who are sharing and tweeting the article, as well. I hope to get the chance to do some further editorializing on the White Sox in the future. I've always had a desire to write more about them, their moves, and the culture of the fans. We'd enjoy it if you'd come back and post.
