QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 06:42 PM) This team is a breath of fresh air and feels like a legit NBA team. 4 seed is ours. Oh gosh yes it is. Hard to believe these guys appear to have this much chemistry.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) Are we talking about James Shileds? No. I fully believe he will stink up the joint for many years to come.

QUOTE (Coach @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) It's not that odd. I don't care what you think either. My point is and always be anyone who thinks this is a 2 team baseball town also thinks Hillary is not a crook. Yes, you are obviously an incredibly logical person.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 11:11 AM) I'd be surprised if Heyward isn't back to himself next year. Whether that's worth all that money is certainly debatable but I'd be absolutely shocked if he doesn't have a comeback year. Yeah, I agree. Just because he stunk up the joint this year doesn't mean the entire signing is a bust.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 10:21 AM) Agreed. It will be endless talk about dynasty and greatest team ever assembled. Jordan4Life will lead the charge. Only if he becomes "unshook."

Darn.

QUOTE (Coach @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 09:40 AM) Guys, I really do not care what anyone says. This town has been a Cubs town for many years. Who really cares going back to the 50s , 60, or even 70's. It's now a Cubs town. When you go into a store, what team's stuff is on full display? Is it the Sox? Hell, no. They may get 1 rack. Go into Dicks and they have racks of Cubs stuff. Same with any retailer. Now all those sox fans (I am one of them) who state the city is split is dillusional. If you don't care what anyone says, it seems odd that you would share your thoughts with others and then respond to what they say.

You can cancel the postgame show.

I think I might consider starting Salazar in game 6.

My goodness folks...it's not a surprising outcome today...let's see what happens over the weekend.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) Yes, Durant played with another superstar and while they were very good, they were never as good as they should have theoritically been, given that their skills weren't exactly complimentary of each other. When you look at the Warriors, you take that dynamic and multiply it . I don't think that challenge gets enough play. It is easier for the dream team guys to take a step back and change (because their longer term paychecks / ego's don't necessarily depend on their individual dream team success) there roles short-term, it is much harder for individual players to not. Bosh is / was a pretty unique guy in how he was willing to do what was needed and even then the Heat weren't near as dominant as people expected. Now Steph is a better pure passer then Russ so I think he'll do a better job adjusting then Russ and they are all excellent shooters, which should allow for great spacing. That said Durant does play a good chunk of one on one ball and that isn't necessarily the Warriors style. This is a bigger adjustment then most think. It could end up working brilliantly, but there are more risks then people are willing to acknowledge, imo. And LeBron as well. Without LeBron deferring quite a bit, at least until the end of games, they would have struggled a lot more.

QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 05:43 PM) Feels like 5-0 Cubs right now. Hard to believe it's only 2-0. That Bauer outing was painful to watch. Slow and laborious Not so different than Jose Contreras back in the day. While it is frustrating to watch, you'd rather have that than him just getting whacked around quickly, like Kershaw in game 6.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 05:16 PM) And look what happened when he didnt Yeah, had him 0-2 and could have really limited his pitch count. That is part of the frustration that is Trevor Bauer.
-
You guys are a bit harsh.
-
Bauer getting the hook over now. This would be a huge inning if he can get Rizzo.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 04:45 PM) Bauer's spin rate on his curve is way down. Wonder if it's the cold or the finger Or just a fear to really spin it for fear of it opening up.

Damn

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) at least based on MLB gameday, this ump's not giving the corners at all He's actually been calling them right, with the exception of that pitch on 2-0 that was a ball that he called a strike. Arrieta has been off the corners, and the ump is correctly not giving him those pitches, especially since he's been a bit wild.

QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 11:38 AM) You are correct. IIRC polls ahd Hillary losing to every single candidate but one....Donald Trump. I think Kasich was polling well against her also.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) I'm certainly guilty of it myself, but it's kind of sad that we have to re-live moments that happened 11 years ago. I wish the Sox were good. If you saw the opening to the World Series last night, you know that 11 years is nothing. It's just unfortunate for you that you weren't really old enough to fully appreciate it. Maybe again sometime...when you are 93 or something

QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) I think you should wait until he's outside, make eye contact, whip out your dick, and pee on the spot to mark your territory. Yeah, but if his neighbor is anything like my dog, he will just stroll over to the spot and pee over his mark.

Rabbit, how about asking his wife?

QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 07:27 AM) I would argue that the Cubs are a totally different animal from Toronto and Boston. The Cubs looked dead in the water after Game 3 against LA and came roaring back. And then looked dead again last night. No one is disputing the Cubs talent here, but it seems like a number of folks have themselves so wrapped up in their hype that they refuse to approach them rationally. Yes, the Indians' rotation has been decimated by injuries. Yes, Josh Tomlin and Trevor Bauer did not have the seasons that Jake Arrieta and Kyle Hendricks had. However, this is not new. This is has been the same commentary for two other playoff series now. Meanwhile, the Indians are 8-1 in the Postseason. Tomlin had a brutal August but has been very solid since. Bauer is very inconsistent, but when he is on, he might have the nastiest stuff of any starting pitcher on either team. Yes, on paper, the Cubs appear to have a large edge in the starting pitching department. But at some point, wake up and look at what the Indians have done.

QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) Thought I heard talk of Salazar coming back? Doubtful that he will start though.

Keep up the watching and the bat flipping, Cubs.
