QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) Name one thing I've posted that can be categorized as creepy. After you're unable to do that, accept my apologies for seeing your gaga post over her legs and thinking it was a tad immature and unfortunately exactly what is expected on a message board. Good day to all, and of course, welcome to Soxtalk, Bren! I'm not going to have a personal war with you in the thread, but one thing that comes to mind is all the freak-out, knee-jerk, immature threads you create after tough losses. Or perhaps the threads about people you are happy that are now dead from some tragic accident that occurred. If you want to talk about immature, I think you need look no further than your own bathroom mirror, Steve.

Joe Cowley says our season is over: do you agree?

QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) What I'm saying is we should have done that in the offseason... rather than suffering through the inevitable. I'm not sure we agree on what's causing this awfulness... I tend to think that had the starting pitching performed as expected, we would be in a position to add even with the slow offensive start. I firmly place 80-90% of the blame for this on them, as opposed to the hitting. -
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) Got to be honest, I have not been following the workouts to a T. I am trying to lose some extra belly fat so I have been doing running intervals instead of plyo/yoga/kenpo. I lost 15 lbs. before I started P90X and the weight loss seemed to stop when I started the program. I have changed it up a little, but I am still happy with the progress. The weight loss may have stopped because you were adding muscle while losing fat. Did your belly fat continue to disappear? or no?

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) Hahaha while its still the same schedule, I find it funny that you go on the site for P90x for recent mothers Hah, I have the books and stuff, so I use those. This was just the first site I found when I googled it for Rowand.

I really, really want to get the insides of my forearms done, but I'm just concerned about future employment opportunities...

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) In response to your personal message, I don't believe it'd be appropriate to ask her to show a picture of his ass tattoo. I'm sure it exists, whether or not we have photographic proof. Flash, what are you talking about? No one asked to see her ass. Oh sorry....that was quite clever....went right over my head...

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) Thanks! Well it's no big secret on these boards that I'm vegan so I came up with a generic idea of a role reversal tattoo. I couldn't really come up with a concrete design of what it would look like so I asked the artist, Ryan Flaherty from Insight Studios, to come up with something that got my message across. He drew it up from scratch and I was blown away. I think that's pretty rad, Sqwert. Guy did an awesome job designing that. Really sweet!

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) Yikes. The serious internet wink. You're bordering on creepy, bro. Are you being serious, Steve? YOU, of all people, are going to call ME creepy? Ok. I'm just going to say this now because I have been seeing this nonsense all over the board. WE HAVE A CUTE GIRL POSTING AT SOXTALK. Stop the presses. Enough with all the lame comments about "this thread is getting weird," or "this thread is getting creepy," or whatever. It's only creepy or weird when people say s*** like that. In regards to myself, I "wink" at posters all the damn time, and no one calls me creepy. Why it should be considered creepy when I do it to a female poster seems ridiculous to me. In regards to the rest of the people responding to girlslikebaseball, she obviously has thick skin, she's used to being around men (and boys), and she isn't going to go running into her bedroom and play with her barbies because we like to talk about women and we swear. She can handle herself, so just pretend as if she is one of the guys (obviously to a point). Now let's ALL GET OVER OURSELVES and move on as usual, because I am tired of all the silly jockeying, commenting, and just overall lame-ass behavior because of the fact that we have a young lady in our presence.

QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 03:21 PM) Sound to me like we agree rather than disagree. I strongly agree that I'd rather be working from a position of strong pitching. But that doesn't mean that we should have built a team that, by design, was going to be at-best mediocre offensively and pray that our pitching would save us. What I'm saying is that we would add a bat so that our offense would become better than mediocre. -
QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 12:40 PM) I have 4 tattoos. My first I got when I was 22 ..it's a morning glory on my right ankle. My friend I got one for her birthday. My second is the word "stuff" on my left butt cheek ..My best guy friend's name is Stephen, I call him Stuff ..I told him if he payed for it I would get it ...he called my bluff so now I have Stuff on my ass!!! My third is a tribal heart that covers my left shoulder blade ..it has my kids' names in it. My fourth is a heart on my left wrist that looks like a puzzle with 4 pieces ..one piece represents myself, the other 3 are for my sisters ..they all have the same tattoo as well!! TRYING TO FIND A BETTER PIC OF MY ANKLE TAT.... You just wanted to show off those legs of yours...

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) That may be the case, but we might as well throw him out there as much as possible and hope he gets hot. There is no reason to waste at-bats on Kotsay. We still might be able to salvage a reasonable prospect for Jones if he gets hot and a team with limited financial flexibility desperately needs power. Actually, he hasn't been playing all that much recently. -

QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) The difference is that the pitching is talented enough to turn things around and be very competitive... But the offense is middle of the pack at best even if they play well. We were counting on the pitching to be outstanding and save us. That's a bad position to start from. I disagree. I think we would have added a bat had we been in contention and would have been in very good shape. I'd much rather be working from a position of strong pitching than vice versa. -

QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) I am a pretty optimistic guy. But I had a bad feeling about this offense from the get go. IMO, you simply can't put so many guys into a lineup simultaneously who are 'at-risk' for having sub-par seasons. In general, I'm a KW fan, but just seems to me that he's hell bent on building teams that have to "exceed expectations" just to compete... in a relatively weak division. That may be fine for a small market team. But it shouldn't be the case when you have a $100M payroll. Well I think you have to look at how the team was built. He sunk the majority of our money into the SP. It's true that the offense was a bit of a wing and a prayer, but given the capability of that pitching staff, I really thought his wing and a prayer would be plenty to get the job done. The problem is the part of the club that was supposed to be it's strength has turned out to be it's biggest weakness... -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) Jones has been worthless since his start, so much so that the Sox are extremely frustrated with his stubborness to make adjusments. No doubt in my mind he'll be traded away for virtually nothing, probably as soon as he hits #400. Yeah, I was really excited to have him til we got to about May 10th. Then I started to wonder where Andruw Jones had gone. Basically at this point, IMO, he's a bench player and defensive replacement for Q. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) I got a few questions since I have the dvds but not everything that goes a long with them(nutrition guide, etc). Which dvd do I start out with and what's the whole order supposed to be like? Which week am I supposed to take my rest week? And am I supposed to be doing this 6 days a week or what? Obviously, I know I don't have to follow those things 100 percent but I'd like to try as hard as possible, at least to begin with. Thanks in advance. Welcome to the club, Rowand! Schedule

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) Probably. As I've said many times, don't let this team fool you. They will go on a 1-2 (maybe even 3 in you get lucky) game winning streak then proceed to lose 3-4 (sometimes 5) in a row or lose pretty much alot of the series games. (like this one actually) I got my hopes up a couple months ago after the Mariners/Marlins series thinking this team has turned the corner.... Don't be delusional here. I reserve every right to be as delusional as I wish!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) But ya know what? They've had almost as many seasons where they thought they had a shot that their team fell apart completely as we have, because they had a boatload of young guys. 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009. Sizemore, Hafner, Peralta, Carmona imploding, for example. Oh Balta...I give up with you....let's just agree to disagree.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 04:17 PM) Yeah, nobody holds a .500 wOBA up for a whole year. Still, I think he's going to produce and the decline won't be razor sharp. Bruce is inconsistent and Beckham wildly so...Jennings struggling a bit in Durham...I am amongst the top 2-3 teams this year, and Morneau will always be at the very least, very solid. Decided to suck it up and get a big bat and worry about the youth I traded away later. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) Another awful game for Beckham. His swing looked disjointed again. I traded him from my fantasy keeper team yesterday...that was a tough pill to swallow...
