  1. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) Hasn't Bobby always sucked in non-save opportunities? He's been bad this year, but got us the saves - that's all I'm saying. Non-save opportunities are pretty important too, don't you think?
  2. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) Wait, that's real? I've seen it mentioned, but I thought it was just a joke about the pissy attitudes between some members of the management. It's a show called The Club, produced by the media arm of MLB, I believe. It's supposed to air at the beginning of July I think.
  3. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) While I agree that Jenks been pitching like complete turd, and Greg likes to overvalue anyone from the 2005 squad, Bobby only blew 1 save so far. The last on this teams long list of problems. Ugh. Look at it this way. If we were in an extra inning game in the postseason, would you feel comfortable with Bobby pitching with the game on the line? I would not. That is a measure of a reliever's worth, not this ridiculous, meaningless statistic called "saves."
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) Heres what I just got: http://www.genuinescooters.com/scooters/buddy/blackJack.html Its awesome. And I got a great deal from Honda House in Elmhurst. They still have one left. Let me know how it goes, Rock.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) Well that would be nice with some of the guys in their system. We'll see if it happens. I'm looking at their top 10 prospects right now...looks like they have a lot of nice LHP. I would think if we paid the $4 million remainnig on AJ's contract when he's traded that we would be entitled to a pretty decent prospect or 2. Fangraphs
  6. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) Levine reporting that the Rangers have serious interest in AJ, but can't take on any salary. Sounds like Fathom may be right, haha. Well, if we've got to eat his salary, then Jon Daniels is going to have to fork over a darn good prospect. I'm sure there are plenty to choose from.
  7. If they would just start winnng everyone would love eachother again.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) Thanks. That call felt like a punch to the gut. Oh no! I'm sorry Sqwert...the good thing is...you don't have to leave your Sweet Home Chicago...
  9. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:50 AM) Glad to see someone gets it. I don't understand the Thome love at all. This was a guy who would get injured being a DH. Did they win anything at all with him? No. This team would be just as bad with him. Thome created a hole in CF and look what Kenny had to pay to fill that. Dye? MLB isn't interested in him. Last year's team would be just as bad because the current ace of the staff is a washed up pitcher named Freddie. Oh, this is just the post of the century. But good to see you have the pulse on things enough to where you can accurately ascertain who "get's it," and who doesn't.
  10. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 10:09 AM) Just post any kind of random, useless knowledge, that may someday assist one of us in winning $27,835, in one night, on Jeopardy!!! Great thread... OR We could just ask Balta!
  11. Omar comes through again, eh? Missed the game but looks like he is the man stepping into the 2nd spot (eek)...
  12. I can only imagine the hatred that will be spewed for AJ the first time he pulls some of his shenanigans against us...
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 11:30 AM) If the playoffs started today, I'd be in the "start Niemi" corner. Props to Steve on pointing this out way back on the 48th anniversary of Pearl Harbor!
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 1, 2009 -> 05:20 PM) FWIW- Barnaby picked SJ over WAS in the finals, and Melrose picked the Hawks over PHI in the finals. Quite a prediction, Barry.
  15. Really happy for all you guys that have followed this team through the craptacular late 90's til the day Bill Wirtz died. I remember watching the teams with JR, Steve Larmer, and Goulet and watching Eddie Belfour spaz when he would let a cheapy in the net, but I stopped following the team for the most part when that group left. My generation was one that Bill Wirtz tried to unwittingly excluded from becoming Hawks fans by refusing to allow them to play their home games on television. I started following them again when Wirtz died, but I can't claim to have been along for the ride like a lot of you guys. I'm ecstatic for the team, the organization, and for all you guys that this truly means everything to. Enjoy every moment of it.
  16. Buster Posey with only 3 k's through his first 40 PAs and 6 multi-hit games in 11 starts.
  17. For all current iPhone users, you can call *639# to see whether you are eligible for an upgrade for the new iPhone4. A text will be sent to your phone within a few seconds with an explanation. The upgrade price is $199 for the 16gb and $299 for the 32gb plus an $18 upgrade fee on a new 2 year contract.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) I was thinking of going to this game a few months ago but I figured I could just walk up and buy DOG tickets. Whoops. You still can. DOG tickets will probably even be cheaper too.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) Roenick said "to the kid who was crying when I walked off the ice in 1992, you waited 18 years" and I wonder if that kid was watching? That's pretty cool...
  20. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 07:32 PM) How many pitches were Wood and Clemens at after their 14th K in their 20K games. Good catch. Wood was at 93 pitches and Clemens was at 92 in his second 20k game.
  21. I hate when they pack it in like that....with a 2 goal lead, yes...not with a 1 goal lead against the home team in a do or die situation.
