  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) Clayton Richard and Nick Swisher's numbers this year make me vomit. SHHHHHHHH
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) I'm amazed at Rios stolen base numbers more than anything. Well that's what I was referring to when I said most complete. He's on pace for .318/.377/.590 34 HRs/83 RBI/ 109 R/ 51 SBs all while playing stellar defense in CF His only weakness has been his BA w/RISP
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 07:49 PM) How about Albert Belle's huge year? Yeah, that was a monster season he had in 98'. However, I always forget it because so much of the damage that year came after we were out of contention.
  4. Rios is on pace for one of the most complete offensive seasons ever by a White Sox player not named Frank Thomas.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) I drop my jaw at the Chris Berman video and Hawk telling them at the time they were doing a great job. What a sham. Berman and that crew were so one sided those 3 games. It was a joke. Only made it more sweet, my brotha.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) Part of that is because its his home park though. Familiar mound, landing spot, visual cues. Its easier to pitch at home in general. Its not all the dimensions. Plus you're sleeping in your own bed, in your own house. You're with your familiar lady, and not some strange. Your dog wakes you up in the morning, and not some operator. You drive your own car to the ballpark, etc.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) AJ has had some really good swings tonight. Good. I expect him to convince Kenny that we need him around for our improbable turnaround.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) Meant to say Gavin from the stretch, of course. Directv was updating something, and then it froze. Had to restart it, and my wife said tons of people said something similar. I thought you were creating a new punchline...I thought it was just part of your comedy routine today...I kinda liked it...
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) Nice job by Gavin. Did anyone else have Directv issues today? How so? Mine was working well earlier when I was watching the Nats/Pirates game.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) plyo was hard today. Slight migraine, barely made it through. But you made it. Good work, buddy.
  11. His changeup is almost too fast. He needs to be able to get it down around 85-86....otherwise, hitters hardly have to wait back on it to hit it, especially lesser hitters who can't catch up to his heat anyways.
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 05:44 PM) Has he thrown a change yet? I haven't noticed. He threw one last inning...I didn't see it because I was in the kitchen, but I heard Rob Dibble mention it. I like how the National's play-by-play man said the hit this inning was well-hit....thing was a weak blooper barely over the infield...
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 05:31 PM) That makes it a little more defensible. But still, in a 1 for 1 it's no contest. Steals and saves are something you really shouldn't pay for. Took me a couple years to learn that. Well, traditionally I stack my roster with all-around players like Braun, Kemp, Zobrist, Utley, Markakis, etc, that do everything...that way you don't have to worry about stolen bases...but Crawford was too much to resist this year, with his RBI production, his run scoring, and his stolen bases... I'll trade him after this season for a more all-around OF.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 05:29 PM) Jeez, would have gone under. I didn't even think about it... We've got to discuss in the future...
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 05:25 PM) Anyone know what the over/under for this game was? 8.5 here in Vegas.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 05:23 PM) You got played. I dunno, J4L....In my league, CC is like the 7th rated hitter in the league thus far, well ahead of Zimmerman. Categories are OBP, SBs, HRs, RBIs, Runs and Total Bases. Plus I have Longoria and Billy Butler at my other two CI positions...
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 05:17 PM) The thing is, he has impeccable control. Yeah, but he's not going to be snapping off curves for the first 3-4 pitches of every at bat. I'm not saying it will ever be easy to hit the kid, but they're just going to have to try and hit the fastball and ignore the breaking stuff. They just have no chance otherwise.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) Why would someone want an old, bald coach who gets his ass kicked by Pedro Martinez? Oh, you are on a roll tonight...
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) With that curveball, it's just almost not even fair to other hitters. He's out there throwing like a closer. That was only one inning... let's see what he's got on his changeup. The hitters are going to just have to ignore the curve and hope he can't throw it for strikes often, because they just have no chance to hit that and still cover the array of hard s*** Strasburg throws.
  20. I traded Zimm for Crawford straight up a few weeks ago...still not sure how I feel about that...
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:11 PM) Wow did he make Milledge look bad.
  22. Wow, he has some nasty moving heat, a 96 mph sinker, and a wicked, biting curve. And we didn't even see that change. Seems like it took the umpire a bit to get a feel for his stuff, but he called the pitches on Milledge that he missed against that second hitter. This is the first time I have ever really watched Strasburg....gotta say, he looks like he is all that he was advertised to be. Nice to see the National's Park filled and pumped up like that.

Legs & Back is in the books. Damn, did I sweat during this workout.
  24. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) Who care about total # of apps, that is just an Apple talking point. Yeah so the iPhone has an app that counts the number of mitochondria in your left pointer - whooooo! The point is not the number of apps. The point is that every company in America (and elsewhere) lines up to utilize the capabilities of the iPhone, which is part of what gives it such an edge against any other phone on the marketplace.
