QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 3, 2017 -> 09:35 PM) Truly amazing how many turnover in the last few minutes of regulation them and their opponents have had in big ten play. My glass half full side will say that's because we're relying on a bunch of young guys. Black and Finke (worthless) are the only real veterans. Alstork is a senior but obviously new to the team. These losses suck, I wanted to go at least 2-1 in these last three, but at least this isn't Groce-era losses where you never felt like they had much of a chance. Realistically they should have won all three of these games. Definitely the last two. Just can't finish. Hopefully they continue to grow. They can obviously score. And they can play defense for bits here and there. Just gotta put it together. -

Three straight games they've just given away. Hopefully by January they'll learn how to finish. -

The no call on Alstork was just balanced by that no call on the inbound. -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 29, 2017 -> 04:26 PM) You don't need a button at your desk in order to be able to close or lock a door. I doubt his office is 10ft x10 ft. So i'm sure it's a convenience. I really don't think that's abnormal.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 29, 2017 -> 03:20 PM) Is he a big time DIYer because I have no idea who the hell would have installed that Bond villain locking mechanism for him. Eh, I could see him wanting one so he's not bothered. I'm sure he's the type to have an office with a couch and whatnot. I'm sure those people (morning show hosts) take naps during the day since they have to get up at like 4am.

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Nov 29, 2017 -> 11:04 AM) There have been times historically where calls against Illinois led to rule changes. The '84 Elite Eight loss @ Rupp led to the "no more home games in the NCAA Tournament." The '13 loss to Miami in the Second Round led to replay on out of bounds calls at the end of games. One of the Kittner football teams got two official apologies from the B1G in one season. Refs are going to be bad, and they obviously aren't targeting Illinois, but there have definitely been times where Illinois fans have had legitimate gripes. I also don't think it's an Illinois only issue. I lived in Indianapolis for a bit, and every IU loss was because of the refs. I sat in Mackey Arena for an Illinois-Purdue game where the crowd literally booed every foul call against the Boilers. Illinois fans are bad, but they aren't alone in being bad. Last night, Underwood was publicly mad about the officiating. He's not going to be mad about it every night. There were some legit gripes about the officiating in last night's game. I'm not sure that's why Illinois lost the game, but there were some really confusing stretches from the refs. The 2000 Michigan game with the two awful A-Train fumble calls essentially swayed the Big Ten into instituting instant replay. They were so blatantly obvious. edit: I also believe Illinois' elite eight game against Arizona in 2001 was a total ref screw job. Fouls were like 2:1 against Illinois and 6 guys fouled out. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 29, 2017 -> 10:53 AM) When you pulling out? I have a co-worker who has put in a couple hundred thousand pretty early. He needs to pull the plug now. That's just moronic unless he/she is worth millions. Not sure when i'll pull out. I'll probably stick with it for the long term. I also bought some etherium and litecoin which should see their own growth if bitcoin crashes.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 29, 2017 -> 10:33 AM) Agreed. Eventually people will figure out it literally is vapor-currency and the first wave will pull out, and look out. There wont be enough actual currency left for people to get their "money"out One thing to keep in mind is that the number of people actually buying bitcoin is still incredibly low. Less than 20 million and probably way less since those are just active wallets and people can own multiple wallets.

I bought in about a month ago for a modest amount, nothing I can't stand to lose, and have earned about 60-65% so far.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 26, 2017 -> 04:24 PM) I agree. Over at least the next two years it is way more likely that Lovie leaves on his own than he gets fired. The program was an absolute dumpster fire, Whitman came in as the new young AD and he bet all his chips in Lovie, he is not giving up that quickly. My concern is there was very little improvement over the course of the season. In fact, in many areas they regressed. Yes, they're young. Yes, they were hit with a good amount of injuries. But that doesn't excuse the very questionable play calling, the constant mental mistakes/penalties, etc. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 22, 2017 -> 01:54 PM) Hes arguing publicly with the most powerful man in the world, who is almost universally hated. Its an awesome PR ploy. He's just a bumbling buffoon, like Trump, and he finds himself in positions that get attention. That's all. He's not smart. This isn't pre-planned stuff. He's just a loud mouth. He's also the biggest asshole of assholes. Are we all forgetting that he refused to let his son's team play basketball because a female ref was assigned to the game? He's an embarrassment to our society and it's an embarrassment that so many people are "entertained" by him. -

Ouch, sounds like Porter Jr is out for the season with a screwed up back. edit: according to random Twitter person. I thought it was better sourced, but I guess not. -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 11:56 AM) He retracted his earlier statement to the AP and has issued a longer one I mean, he's right, but the problem here is less about the legality of it and more about whether we want representatives to be the types of people that would be involved in a situation like that. Yeah, i'm sure there are disgruntled employees who may be seeking revenge by filing false claims, but usually where there is smoke there's fire.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 09:52 AM) He's flatly denying ever having settled a sexual harassment claim. The source of the documents supplied to Buzzfeed was right-wing social media guy Mike Cernovich, who originally rose to prominence promoting "Pizzagate" nonsense, so I guess it's wait-and-see if the claims are legitimate. Looks like the verified what they received: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/john-c...4b0bfa88c1ca584

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 08:43 AM) John Conyers, the ranking member on the House Judiciary committee, apparently has a long history of harassment including settlements. Paid out of his campaign funds too. edit: sorry, his office budget, not campaign funds. Still, taxpayer money, not his personal money.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 09:42 AM) So why doesn't someone just re-write the accusations against POTUS as news and we can take him down? I mean, he grabs p*****s. I haven't seen a politician drop out or resign because of these allegations. The people "taken down" are being taken down because they'll lose their employers/investors money if they remain.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 16, 2017 -> 04:14 PM) 1) I said "The Dems" as in, the Dems in congress. the Democratic Party. Not "all dems" or all people. Reading comprehension without infusion of bias is key! But "Dems" are just as guilty of this stuff. Hence my point. "Dems" have had control over Congress for some years this decade and they could have altered the sex harassment/assault policy that they're talking about now. But they didn't. They protected their buddies just like other members of Congress. I'm not sure why you think "Dems" want/should get the moral high ground here. I'm not sure why. This problem involves men asserting power over women. It's not a party-specific problem, it's a gender, age and authority position problem. As SB says, you're making this a "team" situation. You're already claiming this was all planned and executed with ulterior motives. Why aren't you saying the same thing about Moore? You don't think the timing of those accusers coming out, a month before an election, is suspect?
